New search suggestions is bloated with extra, non-utile space

New search in Firefox 34A suggestions a lot of unnecessary bloat that makes me want to spend browsers. After switch it on Google as default search provider and by removing all other search engines so that they will not be displayed, I still have a useless banner at the top announcement of the page, I chose Google (thanks, I know) and a large button for 'Search Settings' (if I want to get search parameters, I'll go to Options Thank you).
How to return to the list simple and clean with ONLY the results of the search as I type?

You can return to the former regime of the search like this bar.

Talk openly to the top: config (typed in the address bar) make a right click and toggle this preference to false:

browser.search.showOneOffButtons

Then restart Firefox.

  • V33 now in integrated home page search suggestions

    How to get back to the old behavior with the AutoComplete?

    It was a useful kick. I looked the option but thought it was only for search suggestions.

    This is the real thing - AutoComplete history disappeared.

    New research uses AutoComplete AND suggestions together. Given that history of AutoComplete is gone, its is no longer showing data from AutoComplete if it appeared using the suggestions only. Once I did some research, they came in the AutoComplete and suggestions together.

    Deactivation of the suggestions just disables the zoom network, as it should. AutoComplete continues to operate in both directions. It's just the autocomplete history is gone.

  • STILL not able to stop Search Suggestions

    This follows a previous question, I asked to Stop the search in the Awesome bar Suggestions. The solution presented in this issue, worked for awhile, but now the ugly problem is back.

    I made turn off Search Suggestions for Google search (indeed, for all the included search engines), and I inserted the URL described in the response. It's not good - search Suggestions are back.

    I am able to disable Search Suggestions in Google Chrome. I am also able to disable Google instant, something that I'm not (yet) in Firefox.

    Problem finally solved by choosing "when Firefox starts: display a blank page" my homepage setting in about: vacuum.

    When Firefox starts, or when I go to my homepage or when I open a new tab, I enter my search term the Awesome bar. (No other place to go). The research opens at the following URI:

    https://www.Google.com/search?hl=en & full = 0 & site = webhp & q = [search term]

    Now, I can type a new term in the area of own Google search with no search for search suggestions. The resulting URL is:

    https://www.Google.com/search?hl=en & full = 0 & site = webhp & q = [new keyword] & [long string of code]

    Of course, this means I must renounce fancy new Home Page of FF 13, but I can live with that.

    I should add that this is not a Firefox problem in itself. It's really on the way to thwart Google.

  • Get the new laptop, what to do with my old

    I have a Compaq Presario CQ 60 2008. It is short-term memory. Technical Support function, I need to upgrade my laptop at least 8 GB of memory. If I do this, will it put something else to manage the memory upgrade?

    According to the post, I have read here, being my OS was oringinally XP, upgrade to Windows 7 with Microsoft and is a 32-bit... I understand that it will only move to 4 GB. But support says that I need 8GB.

    It's old and nearlly complete. I do not know how to clean 3 years of studies to it. I have a backup disk. (15 CD)

    I probably just need a new, but what I do with this old? It always works well.

    I'm a nursing student full time I'm going to need a lot of ram to our interactive graphic software.

    Can anyone provide a bit of advice well informed as to what I should do?

    If I update, what do I need to upgrade in addition to memory.

    If I buy a new one, what should I do with this one because it still works well. ?

    Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hello

    Interactive graphical software, I think that you need a better graphics card in your system more than anything else. 8 GB memory minimum is recommended however. I don't know if your processor is large enough for these tasks too.

    Windows 7 32 bit can use up to ~3.75gb so upgrade up to 4 GB of RAM, is profitable.
    If you need to use 8 GB, you must install 64-bit Windows 7 (you can install Windows 7 64 bit with the same authentic product key, you used to install the 32 bit OS, you just need ISO file Windows 7 64 bit to make the Windows installation disc)

    You didn't on your laptop - exact model number, the name of the template?

    If the cost of doing all these upgrade is superior to the performance's will offer its do better with laptop cheap with many more performance box. That you have to search and find.

    Rather than burn your data & other files on CD, I suggest you just buy an external hard drive. You can get 500 GB, 1 TB of external hard drives ($70).

  • Can you provide search suggestions my search engine?

    Firefox provides suggestions when I start typing in the search field. I "Provide Search Suggestions" checked and "see the search in the address bar suggestions." When I force quit Firefox and restart, suggestions will appear for my first 2-3 research and then it returns do not provide suggestions. I'm frustrated! Search suggestions are super useful because sometimes I don't even know the full extent of what I'm looking for until I see the suggestions.

    I have attached 3 photos... the first photo shows how not to receive any suggestion, the second shows that my Firefox has the ability to display the options before quickly, he returned to show no and the third shows that I have the right boxes checked to activate "show suggestions".

    ETA: I spent 45 minutes waiting for an image to load, but just, I get this message: download 'search google with no options.png '... I can send you the ones I am referring to the survey above?

    The last screenshot shows definitely the problem. Next time that happens, you can try:

    • Disable suggestions, type some text, and then turn it back on again (you can right click on the search bar to call the context menu and make the change)
    • Check if you get below the search bar suggestions in a new window (you can start a new window using Ctrl + n)
    • Check if you get suggestions in the search box on the new page of tabs in Firefox (Ctrl + t)
  • Search suggestions is enabled but does not work?

    The search bar in the "Awesome bar" has recently ceased to offer suggestions from research or from my search history Google itself. When I control-click in the search bar, "search suggestions" has a check mark next to it, and it is also checked in the preferences.

    I have re-set network.http.speculative - parallel-limit to 0 and then put in 6 and 10, with no difference. Restart the browser makes no difference.

    Browser.Search.Suggest.enabled = true
    Browser.urlbar.Suggest.Bookmark = true
    Browser.urlbar.Suggest.History = true
    browser.urlbar.suggest.history.onlyTyped = false
    Browser.urlbar.Suggest.OpenPage = true
    Browser.urlbar.Suggest.Searches = false

  • Why search suggestions continue working after I disabled the?

    I use Firefox for Mac (Yosemite) 40.0. I have to use the screen with my co-workers sharing and do not want to see my search history or a browser. Cannot be deleted, apparently, what makes Firefox unusable for me.

    -Menu button
    -Preferences
    -Search
    -Uncheck "Provide search suggestions."

    But suggestions reappear when I type in the search bar. I checked on: configuration and settings are correct. They just don't do anything. Why?

    I started FF in Mode safe mode (disable all add-ons), setting is always off. Search suggestions are always upward. Thus, it is not an add-on cause.

    The combination of parameters

    • Preferences > privacy > remember search and form history
    • Preferences > Search > search to provide suggestions

    should control what's happening on the 'Search', the short bar Firefox status bar which is at the right end of the main toolbar by default.

    You get the icon small clock that indicates that the item originates from your Firefox search history? Normal suggestions generated by the search engine do not have this icon. I've attached a screen showing what I mean.

  • FF34. How to stop the new searches starting at the changing choice of search engine?

    I spend much enigines of different looks, such as IMDB, Alex webster, Wikipedia, YACY and so immediately, and with previous versions when I chose a new search engine from the drop-down list it does not immediately start a new search. I don't want a new search started I press enter or tap on the search icon. How can I stop FF to do this? I don't like FF it is because I don't want the already searched for a term to be used automatically to a new choice of search engine. This is the reason why I choose to use another search engine previously.

    You can return to the former regime of the search like this bar.

    Open Subject: config (typed in the address bar)
    Do a right click and toggle this false preference

    browser.search.showOneOffButtons

    Then restart Firefox.

  • disable search suggestions Firefox 31

    I can't disable search suggestions... it does not matter which search engine, I chose Google/Yahoo, etc. I uncheck the box for 'see the search suggestions', but it goes back immediately. Also, cannot turn off search history.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

    If you do not keep the changes after a reboot or have problems with preferences, see:

  • How can I add Google News Search bar?

    Often, I would like to do just a search of news and not a Web search. I can't find a search engine plugin to add to search bar that will do it. It used to be that if I performed a search on the Web with the search string, with that I wanted to get some news, and then, when I clicked on 'News' of the Web search results, the same string must be entered for the search for new strictly; and it was OK. But these days, the search string is cleared when I go to the press. Solve this would be an acceptable alternative to a news search engine entry only for the search bar.
