New specifications of computer system for CS4

I need to replace one of my desktop systems. It's been over 3 years since I bought a new computer and I want to know what I should look for in a good system to run CS4 Design Suite. I heavily use the main applications are ID & Acrobat. Light use of PS and IT.

I usually bought Dells and might consider staying with her. I'll probably go with Windows 7 (is good home or should I more?). Which lines Dell should I watch? I know that I need a separate graphics card (which one?). How much RAM should I expect?

AMD processors are okay or if I stick with Intel - and is there a minimum processor should I.

Of course I don't want to spend more than necessary, but I know that I need more than a system of bottom-of-the line. I was hoping to keep it minus $1,000 if possible.

I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

Thank you.

Right now, I'd stick with Intel processors. The best bang for the buck is the core 2 Duo or the quad cores. I have a Q6600 and I can't find anything to spend a lot to be upgraded to an i7 because this would mean the new motherboard and RAM.

Video cards, stick with the big names such as nVidia with at least 512 MB or RAM.

    Hello

What are my choices for a new system, I intend to build for CS4:

    Intel Core i7 930 (processor)

    6 GB DDR3 1333 (RAM)

    Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R (motherboard)

Western Digital WD5001AALS 500 GB 32 MB (OS disk)

Western Digital WD1002FAEX 1 TB 64 MB (made by car)

Western Digital WD1002FAEX 1 TB 64 MB (Media Player)

    Noctua NH - U12P SE2 (CPU cooler)

Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT fanless or HIS ATI Radeon HD4670 (graphics card).

    Antec P183 (case)

Enermax Modu 87 + TX 500W or 650W Corsair or Antec Signature 650W (power).

    Your comments are appreciated!

    Best regards.

Look into changing the CPU cooler for the successor, the Noctua NH - D14.

Like John, I think that your power supply may be a little thin. Especially if you plan to upgrade to CS5 with an MPE video card in the future.

Look here: eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Pro v2.5, get the pro license (it costs peanuts), enter all of your components, the value of the system to 100% load and capacitor aging to 30%. Then add about 10-15% of the calculated power and attention to the amperage on the different tracks. Who will decide what PSU to get.

One of the first improvements to your system will be to increase the memory 12 GB.

  • Specifications of the system for Windows 10 technical overview?

    Greetings,

So guys, I thought install Win10 Technical Preview (to get in touch with this new update coming) in my pc, but then I thought since I is not such a great pc, since a player im, win10 will use more my RAM and turn my pc slower?

    Thank you.

Can I upgrade my existing version of Windows to Windows 10?

Given that Microsoft made available the first version of the preliminary version of Windows 10 in early October 2014, there was a misunderstanding that this is not a product you use to replace a facility for production of Windows such as Windows 8 or 7 or Vista. On the other hand, if you test it on one machine, the best recommendation is to create a partition or have a spare ready hard drive where you can install it. Windows 10 in its current state of the pre-release will expire, and at the same time, it's unfinished work. So if you need to evaluate it, the best way is by installing it next to your commercial installation of Windows.

If you choose to upgrade your existing Windows to Windows 10 version, please be warned, it will make your recovery in functional partition, requiring to have separate recovery media to reinstall if necessary.

Where can I get more information about the preparation of my computer safely for Windows 10 tests?

How to dual boot, the latest version of Windows built with earlier versions of Windows

How to migrate Windows 10 Preview release: Dual Boot to install and protect the accumulated data

Backup your current Windows installation. Because you will make important changes on your computer, you should always back up before doing so. It is strongly recommended! See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

  • Recommended specification of the system for WHS 2011?

I have one of the first generations of the HP Mediasmart Home Server, and I want to upgrade to WHS 2011 when it comes out later in the year.
Given that HP is not the hardware for WHS business, I just buy a 'normal' computer and installation of WHS 2011.
I know that the graphics card will obviously not a problem, but someone has any suggestions on what I should look for wise card for a good experience continuous?
Also, I have about 2 TB total in my current WHS, so I was thinking about buying another 2 TB drive, copy everything on it and then by installing the other disks in the new box for extra storage.
Of course, calling into question, if there is enough internal connectors for additional discs (I think I have 3 internal external and 1 on my current WHS).
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

It is obviously for storage of data, a hard drive fat is important. Reliable hardware is also a good thing. I would say as minimum specifications: dual core processor, 2 GB of RAM or more, 70 GB of HARD drive.

  • Specifications of the system for indesign

I'm upgrading to cs6 (Pr, Ps, AI,...), so I think to buy a new workstation (at work). We buy all our Lenovo PCs. I have the plug and I just wantend a second opinion on the potential performance of systems with cs6 Adobe products. We usually multitask in our workflow for some applications are almost always runing at the same time (ID, PS, lightroom, HERE...). This system manages the load?

    Data sheet:

    HD 2: 1 TB 7200 RPM / MIN SATA 3.5 6 Gbps

I wanted to go with a faster graphics card, but aperantly it is not enough space in the tower for a Nvidia htx 670.

Please tell me what you think.

I think the rule of thumb for scratch disk is 4 times the size of the largest file you're working on that, but you'll have a lot of trouble to find whatever it is that little bit extra.

My system is a little over a year now and I didn't spend the money on the SSD because I hope that people said at the time they were not really ready for prime time. I use a 300 GB SATA II drive, which is far too big of a review of the space, but it was relatively inexpensinve and extra space does not count against her. An SSD would be probably faster, but I'm not convinced that it would make a sufficient difference to justify the extra expense, unless you're a power user in Photoshop. Same goes for RAID, but if you want to hear all arguments, ask above in the Photoshop forum.

  • Licensing has stopped working after a clean install of the operating system for CS4

I did a clean install on my Mac Pro, now my CS4 doesn't work anymore. Gives me error code 150:30 (licensing has stopped working). I can't disable it on this computer because the help option is not available. So I can't turn it off before you uninstall and then reinstall. What is the best way to get this working again please? This is the Suite of Master CS4. Thank you...

Hi, Del, thank you very much - I tried the correction of license options but I also do not have the same files (FlexNet), so I reinstalled and my app are now opens again.

All happy it is now resolved!

    Probably not

An idea that MAY work to install or run some programs in Windows 10 old... works for some, not for others

  • Yes, another generation of computer, but for a specific purpose.

Firstly, I thank you if you have already opened this thread. Forgive me if my question seems innane!

I'm planning a new generation of computer for the following purpose

    • PS CS6 - work more than 2 GB files
    • First CS6 *.

Video myjob is very specific. Projects are abnormally less than 5 minutes in duration and often spots TVC type 30 seconds.

Original material is AVCHD, PNG and in the near future files uncompressed camera cinema Blackmagic (10-bit)

Output final must be of quality HD high-end broadcast and a lot at the web level via YouTube.

I try to be "stored" in my editing and keep the track to 4 numbers (if that makes a difference)?

I'm not the most tech savvy guy by a long shot compared to Bill and too bad I would chance to taux.2 on the richter scale.

My thoughts are up to this this:

    • Complete tour
    • 3690 proc
    • 64 GB of ram
    • MOBO? Don't know whether to wait "Blunderbolt."
    • Many HARD drives as requires it
    • GTX680
    • Win 7 64

So the question that I know will roll your eyes! Mother divert the look now... This can get ugly!

Given the short-term and 10-bit source, avoid the RAID? I know quite a few layers of 10-bit must be a huge amount of data (back to no other way than to raid), but I was wondering how it compares to different intensive compressed codecs such as AVCHD? Should I put on my tinfoil hat and hide?

    I would appreciate your thoughts.

    Kind regards

    Peter Lloyd Culley.

    http://www.nitromediasyndicate.com

Uncompressed HD data source absolutely need RAID time, unless you have the money to have a hugh SSD drive system.  Blackmagic camera requires the fastest SSDS, so you should have all your media on these drives or hard drives RAIDed.  You may have each layer to a separate SSD

Also with your high resolution you probably need a 4 GB GPUS like those just announced

  • Can't install software for HP Photosmart C4200 Photosmart on the new Windows 7 computer

I'm unable to install the software for a HP Photosmart C4200 Photosmart on the new Windows 7 computer.  Says it's not compatible with OS.  Is there any solution for this?

    Hello

Because the CD is not compatible with your operating system, you can download the software on the web.

Please follow the link below for the software dowsnload Windows 7 from your printer:

  • I had a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 for quite awhile and discovered that I need a new facility (the computer refuses to Windows to run at all).

    Hello!

I had a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 for quite awhile and discovered that I need a new facility (the computer refuses to Windows to run at all). I picked up my installation disc and everything, only to find out that someone stole completely he reapply. I am unsure weather or not it is enabled or whatever it is. I tried to call Microsoft technical support and they said to go to the retailer I bought since then, but the retailer in question no longer exists. I'm just screwed?

    Thanks for your help!

You can retrieve the product key, and then use it to re-download a new copy:

Here are four utilities, which can display your product keys if they are still there:
    Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
(He did a good job of providing a wealth of information.)

    Also: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml
    and: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html
and RockXP: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4138.html which has additional features

Go to the recovery of the software Page and then enter your key:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

If you plan to upgrade to Windows 7, see:

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
  • New hard drive; Restore System Image taken of the SAME computer Windows7: (RE-) ACTIVATION

Daughter bought TWO IDENTICAL Windows7 Home, laptops Dell Inspiron, EACH WITH ITS OWN PRODUCT KEY. Was given a laptop to MOM as a gift. MOM's hard drive died later. Bought and installed a new hard drive with the same features in MOM's laptop. Used a picture of daughter portable computer system to restore Windows7 Home for MOM's laptop. Everything works perfectly. NOW WE WANT TO (RE) ACTIVATE Windows7 MOM home.

I guess that (RE-) ACTIVATION must be done.

QUESTION: Is it easier to enter the original product key to MOM which is a clone of Windows7 girl on MOM's cell phone, then do a normal activation?

    Thanks for your help.

(While I have your attention, can you remind me what the path is to get to the place where I get the product key?) (Thank you.)

    Problem solved. Thank you.

It was easy. When I went into the system on MOM's laptop he already said: "Windows is activated".

Another question arises: the product key he showed, that must have been imported with the Image of the system taken mobile identical to daughter, had "OEM" in the middle of it. Does this mean that the product keys, use two laptops are actually some generic, common Dell product keys and NOT the product keys shown on the bottom of the respective laptops?

A kind of activation of convenience for Dell customers?

Thank you, again, for your help.

    Hi geckoartstudio,

    Greetings.

    • It depends on what kind of work you do.
    • You can get rid of Photoshop elements 11, but I think you should keep the other application where you need it.
    • Adobe Bridge is the kind of an organizer.
    • The extension manager is used to install plugins adobe or third, but 4 CS is old enough, the most recent version is CC

I think you can get rid of them, once you make sure you don't need those for your work.

Reformat the disk and reinstall Windows XP would heal any problem of malicious program with the exception of an infected MBR (Master Boot Record) on the disk.   The F-Secure rescue CD is a tool that allows to remove a MBR infection.
