Just moved and my laptop is now unable to see my wireless network.

original title: can't set up wireless connection

I just moved into a new apartment. Very well I can connect to the internet via ethernet. I'm having difficulties to establish a wireless connection. When I disconnect the ethernet and WiFi lights, my network is not. I don't know much about computers, so maybe it's a simple solution. I tried to make a new wireless profile, but once I do that, the wireless profile, I've tried to create does not appear on the list of available networks. Please let me know what I can do to solve this problem. Thank you very much.

Hello

While you're on the connection of the cable to connect to the wireless router and check the wireless settings (see Manual of the router).

If everything checks OK examine your computer wireless system.
------------------

Assuming that wireless router is configured correctly, it is a signal and the wireless card on the computer is physically in.

Then pass these steps and tell us where is the breaking point.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

------------------

The wireless card drivers much also install utility wireless of the seller.

To ensure that if there is Wireless Utility a seller is not running with the native Windows wireless utility (Service WLAN).

----------------

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Some 3rd AV/Firewall/security software part, s costume keep blocking aspects of Local traffic even it they are off (disabled).

If possible set up the firewall correctly, /Security costume otherwise totally uninstall and get rid of its remaining processes that permit the own local network traffic flow.

If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

party like Hello and NetMagic 3rd network managers can block local traffic too.

---------------------------

Stack TCP/IP work should look like.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/status-NIC.jpg

Description is the data of the card making.

The physical address is MAC of the card number.

The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).

YY should be between 0 and 255

ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)

The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.

* Note 1. IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.

* Note 2. There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.

---------------------------------------------------

A message in the small window that says connected wireless doesn't means that you are really a valid functional connection.

Above everything is OK, you must be able to connect to the router.

Connection to the router means that you can enter the IP of the router base in an address bar in one go, being able to connect and configure the router menus see.

If it doesn't connect to the router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.

    My Toshiba laptop has been pre-installed with Windows 7 Home premium 64 - bit OS and it worked quite well with the BB wireless. However, the wireless internet was on and turned off in recent weeks, while other mobile devices, such as iphone, ipad, or laptop, in my household had no such problem. The wireless signal was so strong, but the error message always says "unable to connect to wireless networking. It seemed that there was something wrong with the wireless adapter.

    I got a new adapter properly installed TP-Link wireless. Fortunately, it worked; but unfortunately, it worked for less than 24 hours. It was really frustrating that I, like student full time, depended so much on the wireless network card.

  • Computer laptop everything suddenly does not "see" my wireless router, use to work properly

    I have a HP laptop and it has implemented a wireless network a wireless d-Link N router.  Everything worked well for about 3 months.  Now, he can not connect.  Running the troubleshooting application to choose a connection - all my neighbors show up, but not that of my house.  The router is also new (he and laptop were Christmas gifts).   It used to work fine with Windows 7 one and now nothing...  I can't it appears in the list of wireless connections.
    My laptop 5 years running XP is in line with this router and it works fine - so I don't think that it is the router that is the problem.
    Thank you!

    Hello Bchek,

    Thank you for your message.  Check with your D-Link documentation and settings to make sure that the SSID broadcast has not been disabled.  This would prevent you from being able to see the wireless network.  Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.

  • HP Photosmart 7520 unable to find the wireless network

    Hi all

    After receiving our new HP all in one printer, we have found our network wireless networks list wireless during the printer set up. We are able to receive the networks of our neighbors, but not our network.

    We tried:

    • Using the WPS function on the router and the printer
    • Establishment of an open on our router wireless network
    • Connect to our wireless router using the setting on our laptop when the option during the installation of a PC.

    Any help on this subjest would be appreciated.

    Hello

    I found the problem that was the printer not to see the SSID of the router.

    The wireless channel was on channel 12 for the frequency of 2.4 GHz. While I was looking around I found this Support Page for Nintedo. Point 6 is a mention about these channels with respect to the same problems I was experiencing with the printer.

    By changing our channel to channel number 3 number, we could see the wireless network.

    It's a bit weird because I thought that the printer has a full specification b/g/n but apparently not?

    In any case thank you for your support.

  • Operating system is unable to find the wireless network adapter

    I have recently reinstalled Windows 7 on my HP Pavilion Elite on a new hard drive.

    Since the installation, Windows is not able to recognize the NIC wireless on my machine. I imagine that there are drivers somewhere on the recovery discs that I bought out of HP, but those who stick me in a boot loop and aren't really good for nothing.

    I opened the computer case and didn't see any wireless network adapter card (two cards are the video card and the expansion USB3 card), so I guess that means it is integrated. Who is?

    in any case, long story short, I want that my PC for wireless internet, as it did before my other hard drive has failed, but the recovery discs that I bought last week off the coast of HP do not work so I do not know what to do next. Is this a driver problem?

    For what it's worth, I downloaded a bunch of the "drivers" section wireless network adapters and went through them until I found one that worked.

    Problem solved.

  • Moved from Office Windows 7 from one room to the other and now it cannot find the wireless network

    Hello world

    I have a HP Pavilion running Windows 7.

    He was hooked through the ethernet in a single room.

    I moved it to another room where there was no inflexible access, so I relied on the use of our wireless network.

    Now, the computer will not even find the wireless network.  When I have the help, it says "no available connection."

    In the center of the network, selecting wireless has a red X to the left of the green signal bars.

    At first, I wondered if maybe the computer was in a "dead point" in our House, but I've put a laptop beside him and he found the thin wireless network.

    Any help?

    Update: I tried system restore and tried to stop/resume knowledge network locations, but to no avail.

    Here is the info on my card wireless directly from HP site:

    Original driver for the solutions of Dualband network Atheros 802.11 Wireless Module a/b/g/n.

    I found what I think, it's their website, (http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-drivers.php), but surprise... they only model # s, my info does not.  Ugh.

  • New just installed Windows Vista, unable to connect to wireless networks

    So a few months ago my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6) fell from my bed and the hard drive was messed up, so I'm a computer geek friend to replace my hard drive and put a new operating system on it, he had no activation key. In any case, after I came back it was working fine and I was able to use the internet by connecting to public networks, but every time I would connect to my computer it asked me to activate it. And finally I got so bored with being bugged that I decided to buy a new product key, so that he'd stop bugging me. So I bought a new Windows Vista Home premium operating system and when I received it in the mail, I installed correctly and put in the product key and active it and all that much good but whenever I try to connect to the internet that it says "Windows cannot find wireless networks" and when I click on "Diagnose this problem" he says "this computer does not have an install_ adapter of» configured wireless network. and then it gives me options troubleshooting that brings me at all because most of them consist in some way to update my drivers online, but I can't online my laptop to update! and all the other solutions are just confused. Is there a reason why my "driver" would stop working AFTER you install Windows Vista? Or is there some way I can uninstall the operating system and just use the one I had before? Help please!

    Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.

    The computer you are using now if you have an Internet connection with the other > download / save drivers > copy them into Flash Drive > transfer / install on another computer/laptop.

    See you soon.

  • HP ENVY 15-k163cl: HP ENVY 15 updated to Windows 10, now unable to connect to the network

    I've recently updated to Windows 10 with my laptop (from Windows 8) and remember, Windows 8 was working fine but now that I've updated for Windows 10, I can't connect to my home network.

    When I turn on my laptop, it is not automatically connect to my network and when I try to connect from the network settings, I get an error "Could not connect to this network" and I have to wait at least 30 minutes before it automatically logs. After waiting that it works, but my laptop goes to sleep or goes inactive for awhile, it disconnects again and I have to wait

    I connected via hotspot and it worked fine, but all of my other computers laptops HP connects very well and they are 10 Windows as well. Only this laptop is upward, so I guess it's a problem with a new driver.

  • Unable to connect to wireless networks more. ("Windows could not connect to (SSID)")

    Hello!

    Something very strange is happening with my laptop (dv6-3060ee). Up to this day at noon, everything worked well, including the wireless network. So, I set my computer to Hibernate and came to the House of my parents. As I turn it on and try to connect to the wireless here, I can't. I get this error "Windows could not connect to (name of the network).

    I'm on W7 Home Premium 64-bit and the card wireless in an Atheros 9285 b/g/n (model number can be a problem, I have it does not properly check).

    Things to consider:

    -I don't know that this is not a router problem or hardware WiFi card because:

    1. I can connect to the router and get internet access on my phone and with the other computer normally.

    2. on the laptop, I can not connect to the network without wire inside W7, BUT with HP QuickWeb (this system of Opertaing before loading windows), I can normally connect to the network and access to internet.

    -Have you ever tried, without success:

    1 reinstall the driver for the wireless card / Unistalling the driver and install it again

    2. change the encryption on the router. (Even with no encryption I can't connect)

    3. of course, restarting the computer, turn off/on of the network card, reset the router

    So, I'm sure it's a problem with Windows. I did some research here and in other places and other people seem to have the same problem, but I couldn't find any solution.

    I didn't install any software today which could cause conflicts.

    So, can someone help me, please?

    Thank you

    Thank you for your help, but I'd already sorted.

    The problem was really the driver, an update had been installed by the HP update program and it makes the device stop working. This problematic driver was March, I can't remember the version number.

    I went to the Device Manager and pressed on "Roll Back Driver". Windows restored to an October/2009 driver, 8.0.0.238 version number, and now it works as it should.

  • How to create an XML Document and convert it into a string? (send through wireless network)

    Hello

    I am now able to post data to a web server by using Blackberry JDE (medical use).

    Now, instead of display the plain text, I would like to send an XML file.

    I am able to do it using this code on a 'normal ': Java application

    import java. IO;
    Org.w3c.dom import. *;
    Import javax.xml.parsers. *;
    Javax.xml.transform import. *;
    Javax.xml.transform.dom import. *;
    Javax.xml.transform.stream import. *;

    public class {XML
    Public Shared Sub main (String [] args) {}
    try {}
    DocumentBuilderFactory plant = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance ();
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder ();
    Doc document = builder.newDocument ();

    Root element = doc.createElement ("root");
    doc.appendChild (root);

    Child element = doc.createElement ("child");
    child.setAttribute ("name", "value");
    root.appendChild (child);

    Add a text element to the child
    Text = doc.createTextNode ("text");
    child.appendChild (text);

    implement a transformer
    TRANSFAC TransformerFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance ();
    Transformer trans = transfac.newTransformer ();
    trans.setOutputProperty (OutputKeys.OMIT_XML_DECLARATION, 'yes');
    trans.setOutputProperty (OutputKeys.INDENT, 'yes');

    create the string of the xml tree
    StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
    StreamResult result = new StreamResult (sw);
    DOMSource source = new DOMSource (doc);
    TRANS. Transform (source, result);
    String xmlString = sw.toString ();
    System.out.println (xmlString);
    } catch (Exception e) {}
    make error management
    }
    }
    }

    However, on the Blackberry JDE, many functions is not recognized.

    I saw the class DocumentBuilderFactory (net.rim.device.api.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory), the DocumentBuilder (net.rim.device.api.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder) class and the interface of Document in the docs of Blackberry Java (4.2.1).

    So, I'm able to create an XML Document... but I don't know how to convert to a string?

    How can I do this? The TransformerFactory class doesn't seem to exist... and I did not find an alternative yet.

    At the present time, here is the code I use to publish data:

    String coord = lat + ";" + LNG; post data
    con = (HttpConnection) Connector.open (url); Open the connection URL
    con.setRequestMethod (HttpConnection.POST); POST method
    con.setRequestProperty ("Content-Type", "application/x-www-formulaires-urlencoded");
    out = con.openOutputStream (); display the results in a stream
    out. Write (Coord.GetBytes ());

    responseCode = con.getResponseCode (); Send data and receive the response code
    If (responseCode! = HttpConnection.HTTP_OK) {}
    System.out.println ("HTTP STATUS CODE: 404"); error
    } else {}
    System.out.println ("HTTP STATUS CODE: 200"); successful
    }
    If (con! = null) con. Close; close the connection to the URL

    As mentioned, rather than display a string with a delimiter between each value (there will be a lot more than two values finally), I would like to publish an XML.  It will be more "elegant" and easier to parse by my code on the web server.

    Maybe I don't have to convert it to a string?

    In other words, how can I convert my XML Document to send it via the wireless network?

    Thanks for your help!

    TransformerFactory does not exist in the BlackBerry API.  As far as I can tell, you need to implement yourself.  You can do this by walking the DOM and the output of channels.  They have an example of the market of the DOM in the XMLDemo, but they view as fields, you just need to write strings.
