New SSD + RAM and mbp worsened?

Data sheet: 2010 13-inch, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MBP

8 GB ram

SSD 256 g

System: el capitan

Hey guys, quick question: thought I'd give my mbp a second life recently and traded the BLAH new ssd hard drive and is increased from 4 GB to 8 GB of ram.

Kept reading other users as their like new mbp...

On the contrary to me: it is slow, programs, videos offset, always have the beach ball. WiFi is always terrible, compared to when I had the mavericks. It is also very often about 80 degrees with the fan blowing...

It almost feels like the new ram made 'worse', is it possible?

If it of too 'old' to manage el capitan, should I just wipe and go back to the Mavericks (my original system)?

Or try sth else?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Please provide the brand (s) of RAM and SSD drive you have installed.

  • Install the OS on new SSD

I have an iMac 27 inches in 2009 and replaces the HD with an SSD. I have the new SSD installed and have a copy of a DVD/CD MBP OS. Can someone tell me how to get the operating system on the new SSD? Is it feasible with the disc MBP?

    Yes.

  • New SSD - windows 8 or 10 on el Capitan (iMac 2010)

    Dear people of Apple support!

I may be one little different from others going on here and I hope that you guys can talk me through it. After days of trying, I'm a bit lost to be honest.

About 5 days ago I received my iMac 27 "(mid-2010) updated with a new SSD (originally there was just the 1 TB HD)." The new SSD (which is 512 gb) has been in the position where the cd/dvd drive used to be (that I now can't use more). I now have the 1 TB and the new SSD upward and running with el Capitan installed on the new SSD. Works great!

The main reason to go with the SSD is obviously to speed things up, but also because I wanted to have (8 or 10, I guess) installed Windows with Bootcamp on this SSD.

The things I have tried/made up to now:

-Have both iso of windows 8 and 10 loan

-Edited my info.plist file where I remove the "Pre" just before USBBootSupportedModels to activate the option in BCA where you can create a bootable USB key

-After trying the same mistakes with several usb occurs after BCA to restart first, which is "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key".

-J' stopped the iMac and power on it pressing the option key where I found the bootable usb key (which showed boot EFI)

-A from there, I walked into the perfect installation of windows. ;-)

-However, that's where I really got stuck. I couldn't select my partition. Error on show details: 'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is a MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows cannot be installed to GPT disks.

-After formatting, I had the same error as above (error of GPT disks).

-J' found this error a lot, especially on this forum. So I tried to fix it with gdisk (http://macriot.com/mcrt/?p=2362). Unfortunately no luck, I got the error to the step where you type 'w '. Error: Could not open device ' / dev/disk0 ' for writing! Errno is 1! Abandonment of writing!

-J' discovered that it has something to do with SIP and that I should turn off safe mode, but when I restart my iMac I can't get into recovery by using CMD + r. Mode I tried to use it immediately after her, short, long, etc, but all I get is a white screen.

Some things aside that I tried:

-Creation of a windows partition manually with disk utility (remove the fact first by BCA)

-Tried the two structures MS - DOT (FAT), and ExFAT

-J' tried editting the info.plist still more by entering a string below DARequiredROMversion (IM112.0057.B03) and USBBootSupportedModels (iMac11, 3)

Where I am at this time:

-Ready with Windows 8 ISO bootable USB

-Removal of all partitions in windows

-Reset my hd and SDS info.plist file (I guess there are 2)

--A STROLLER full reset (with cmd + option + p r to reboot) 3 times

-Said a MSC (I think it's called) reset where I disconnected my cable for 15 seconds

Trully I thinks I tried most of the things that I could find online, which led me to this post.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If any additional info is requirement please let me know.

    Thank you!

    Best regards.

Your iMac 2010 will not be installed Windows using without the optical drive boot camp.

You should try this option, but it requires you to buy Winclone.

You can also temporarily re - install the optical drive and make sure you install Windows on the main Bay drive (not in the optical drive Bay) and then put your second drive (the one without Windows on it) in the Optibay slot.

  • Need to install W7 professional to new SSD

My main hard drive with W7 crashed. I installed a new SSD drive and tried to install W7 on upgrade drive, but since

There is no OS on the drive, it will only install as a custom installation and does not accept the upgrade product key. I spent about an hour

on the phone with tech support this afternoon and they had still no solution except to reformat the SSD and install

WPA Apparently XP does not recognize the SSD drive, because the error message says that there is an unknown device and installation

has failed.  On the advice of technical support, I loaded an EXE file (I don't remember the file name) which gave me nine series of number

groups. When I called the phone number on the screen, I was told it was not a valid number.  What now?

    Reload Windows 7

Skip, enter the product key, complete the installation.

launch the installer to go within your installation running Windos 7 and reinstall Windows 7 during the current installation and enter your product key and try the activation of the Internet.

  • Reinstallation of Windows 8 on new SSD

Hi, I have recently acquired a new SSD and a new hard drive after suspecting that my old hard drive was a failure. I tried to do a clean install of Windows 8 on the new SSD, but instead the clean install just erased from my hard drive and reinstalled the old hard disk. I tried the old hard drive to the OS on the new SSD cloning and booting from the SSD, but it does not work, how I go about doing that?

I bought Windows 8 Pro online and downloaded later, I don't have a backup/install disk and I don't have any more uses on my key (it was 1 key/use only) this is why I did not format and reinstall.

To install a Windows 8 upgrade version, you must already have Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP installed on your PC.

If you have formatted the drive until the upgrade of Windows 8 version has been installed, you will not be able to use your upgrade product key to activate Windows 8. To activate Windows 8, you will need to install your previous version of Windows, and then reinstall Windows 8. Help with the activation process, contact technical support.

So make sure that you do this first, then proceed to reinstall Windows 8 Pro and then again by phone:

You can download it from there and use your product key to upgrade:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only

    Activation of the phone:

    1. press the Windows key + X , and then click run, and then type: slui.exe 4

    2. then press the ENTER"" key.

    3. Select your "country" in the list.

    4. choose the option "activate phone".

    5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

  • RAM and SSD for my new Acer Aspire R7 752-5893

Suggestions for the type of RAM and SSD memory for my new Acer Aspire R7 752-5893? TX in advance.

You will need RAM SO-DIMM 204 format pins for your laptop. DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800, also known as) should work a treat.

Your SSD should have an MSATA interface, so depending on what is here right now, you can place in a Plextor M6M disc.

There are a few live hidden on the chassis of R7 - you can take a look here and see how to open it, and then you will know what players and the RAM slots you have available.

  • Can I run After Effects with 2.4 GHZ Quad Core i7 Processor, 16 GB of RAM and a new SSD hard drive?

I have a 2011 Mac Book Pro with 8 GB of RAM and The RAM Preview plays in 10 second Incraments. I want to pull out my hair! I don't have the sum of $ to buy a new computer. If I switch to 16 GB of RAM and get a new drive SSD will work After Effects, or I lose my $$. Please help, I have a very important project. It is about 12 minutes long and I need to add a lot of sequelae to complete my project

First of all, you have optimized your system: Optimizing after effects of performance - Support Adobe

Second, it looks like you are fairly new to AE and that your workflow is not very effective. Here's the deal. After effects is not an editing application, it is a graphics and compositing designed app to create shots or short sequences. In addition, I would say that more than 90% of my AE projects are less than 10 seconds, because I created shots (with handles - extra images) I'll change in the body or some other NLE. Some of these comps second 10 have a hundred layers or more. If I had to do 12 minutes into a movie I would fuck the cut first in Premiere Pro to understand what was the best way to tell the story, then each shot than necessary effects would become a separate AE comp. At the very least each scene must be a model. In most of the stories that are told, as a film, a scene are only a minute or two. The average is probably less than 6 seconds. I can't imagine putting together 12 minutes in a single model AE, not because I couldn't, but because I would probably change the "timing" of some of the cuts, edit audio or make some other change before I made and changes in the middle of a project of 12 minutes would be a nightmare.

Here's how a work on almost all editing projects.

    • First installation in a NLE such as Premiere Pro until the story is logical
    • Put the shots in AE requiring animation or effects
    • Inside AE, I first make a test pencil to check the overview and animation timings with the Panel of the model to 50% or even 25%, and automatic resolution scheduled to ensure that the timing is ok
    • Effects are added and critical frames are checked 100% for color and everything else but I rarely to ram preview several frames because I'm already happy with the calendar
    • The model is sent to the SOUL (Media Encoder) or sometimes the cue to render to render in a production format appropriate (usually 10-bit or better, often a sequence of images)
    • If the model is sent to the SOUL I continue to work on the next shot until I finished all the effects work
    • The effects of rendering images are reduced in the NLE to replace shots in the rough cut and editing is polite
    • The project is then added to the hearing for the final mix
    • The final color ranking is made - usually in the category of speed or resolution
    • The final product is made to a production for archiving format and a format of distribution (usually h.264 mp4)

There are a lot of bounce back, but it's the most effective way to work on any project. Have you noticed that an overview of full resolution RAM full length does not at any time?

If installation requires only a few short shots or sequences to AE, I will occasionally use Dynamic Link, but most of the time all the effects work is made. It just makes it much more efficient.

    I hope this helps.

  • Pavilion 15-ak112nl: ssd upgrade ram and m.2 15-ak112nl

Hi, before I have to buy my new laptop (Hp Pavilion 15-ak112nl), I want to be sure I can safetly increase my ram and add an ssd m2 without losing my warranty.

I found this in other discussions:

"Opening at the back of the laptop is not technically end user, but it is not really difficult. HP most likely does not cancel the guarantee as long as it's done without causing damage. »

So, anyone with hp staff can confirm that this information is correct?

Fix. There is no guaranteed delicate joints.

  • New SSDS do not mount on MBP 2012 Recovery Mode

I replace the HD on a 2012 model 9.2 MBP with an OWC 6 G SSD. I ran a backup Time Machine on the HD 500 G original and then swapped the drive. I can't get the new SSD to appear in Recovery Mode to format it and install OS X I have tried with the original disc connected in an external box, even with the Time Machine backup drive and I tried with no externally attached at all. (Continued on the upgrade command instructions on the site of OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/articles/how-to-transfer-your-data-from-your-old-drive - to-a-new-reader) Then, I removed the SSD of MBP and attached to my Mac Mini in an external enclosure. It mounted fine and I was able to format. So I ruled out a faulty SSD. Then I restarted the MBP with original HD installed and the SSD connected via external enclosure. Run utility disc and formatted the SSD drive. Close all again and replace the SSD in the MBP. Started in Recovery Mode to install OS X and the drive does not appear.

Currently of ideas. I rechecked all the components and all should be fully compatible.

    Ideas?

    -Scott

Started in Recovery Mode to install OS X and the drive does not appear.

You mean the restoration of the Internet (Command + Option + R)? Recovery mode is command + R, and since you do not have an operating system on your new SSD HD Recovery wouldn't be here.

  • What is the fastest connection that I can use for a new external SSD for my MBP late 2008?

That IS the question. I want a new external SSD for my MBP late 2008.

What is the fastest connection type that works?

'External' and 'SSD' could be a problem.  SSDS are different animals of disks spinny.  Some will say that you need not trim on SSD (TRIM is a management tool to move only the ' opportunity' bytes in a block when the block of data is moved), but definitely TRIM does not work on USB or Firewire.  Not sure if the TRIM works on Thunderbolt connected readers as it does on disks SATA-path, however.

Speed included between slower and faster, however: USB 2.0, Firewire 400, Firewire 800, USB 3.0, love at first sight.

  • Added the new kingston 256 GB ssd to my MBP 13 "2012

I added a new ssd 256 GB kingstone to my MBP 13 "2012 and it worked fine for a month, today it has frozen and restarted without reason. and there is a folder with a questionmark in the middle of the screen icon. I once git to start again and now it stoped working again. Can any ideas on how I fix this?

You can contact the manufacturer and see what are the provisions of the warranty.

Start the recovery partition and run disk utility > first aid.

If there is no problem, remove the SSD and install it in a closed Chamber.  Plug it into the MBP via USB and see if it will start the MBP.  If so, the internal SATA may have to be replaced.

    Ciao.

  • G62-340US: the best RAM and SSD together for an older G62?

I want to improve my old and slow HP G62 with a new SSD and RAM and I have a few questions.

First of all, I found two very similar RAM packs on Amazon and I don't know what is the difference or one that will work with my laptop?

    http://www.Amazon.com/crucial-PC3-8500-204-pin-CT2K4G3S1067M-CT2C4G3S1067M/DP/B008LTBJFM?ie=UTF8&key...

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B005LDLVAO/ref=cm_cd_asin_lnk

Second, it is possible to install an SSD in the computer? And if that's the case, what is the recommended product?

Thirdly, if I replace my hard drive with an SSD, should I buy another copy of the operating system or is at - it a way to save that?

You want the package of upper memory which is the right speed and density of your laptop. The other memory is more recent and probably not compatible. The top of the page says memory is for a Mac that is not in itself a problem, but you may want to consider the memory recommended by HP:

    4 GB (for models 1.1 and 1.2 only) 599092-001

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-VH641AT-4-GB-DDR3-PC3-10600/DP/B0030L3B8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1459805725&SR=8-1&keywords=599092-001

Absolutely, you can install an SSD on the laptop. Assuming that your 10 Windows is activated you can do a full system image bootable Windows 10 or you can install clean media media creation tool again and the activation of just MS servers identify your computer and you will be activated again even if you change the hard drive.

I need an answer as soon as possible because I saw some discounts on these on amazon so that I won't have to wait for black Friday to get them again. Hey @Ajijawi,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I came across your post on the HP Pavilion dv6 - 1255ee Entertainment Notebook and eager to replace the hard drive of 9.5 mm or increase the RAM. Even if it could adapt to the Notebook ok. Queues screws could be different. Here is a link to your service manual page 69 for the hard card. I would really check this before buying new HARD drive. You may need to change so it does not move. The 500 GB SATA 6 GB/s SSD internal SSD 2.5 "would work for this model of laptop including that you have an AMD System.

This laptop supports up to 8 GB memory system DDR2, 800 MHz, PC2-6400, page 1-DIMM 32 of the manual above.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.
