  With nothing selected, click the configuration Document button in the control bar.  Check the "Simulate paper color" under the Section of transparency. Then click on the white and gray squares and put them in the same color. It will give a color that does not print to the artboard.

  Or...

  Draw a rectangle of the same size as your work plan. Place it on the bottom most layer and lock it so it does not move.

• New computer, transfer CS4 Design Premium problem

  I had CS4 Design Premium (education) on my 2006 MacBook Pro. The computer crashed, I bought a MacBook Pro 2013 and I am trying to transfer the license or product on the new computer. I don't have the original disks, but I had saved the software in Time Machine. CS4 downloaded on the new computer, but it gave me a license error when I tried to open it. I uninstalled on the Mac to 2013, got my serial number of MyAdobe and I am try to download again, but it tells me that my serial number is not valid.

  I found through the forums/troubleshooting there are a few reasons why it doesn't work:
  -New material/new Mac software is not compatible with CS4

  -All products in the suite has its own serial number and must be entered individually * (I don't know where to find these individual numbers)

  -Teaching discs purchased through 3 parts (College Library) might have codes different series/product numbers

  Anyone have an idea how I can do this freakin thing ' work? I need to get my CS4 working again for school/work and cannot afford to buy another version.

  CS4 is compatible with lion, lion mt and the mavericks, but NOT to transfer the files.  use the installation files to install your programs.

  If you have a problem dl'g, you don't follow all 7 steps.  the most common mistake is not meticulously follow the steps 1, 2, and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system, allowing you to download the correct version of the adobe.com site).

  If you no longer need cs4 on your old computer, disable (help > disable one of your cs4 apps) it.

  Then use your installation files to install on your new computer and activate with your serial number.

  Look into changing the CPU cooler for the successor, the Noctua NH - D14.

  Like John, I think that your power supply may be a little thin. Especially if you plan to upgrade to CS5 with an MPE video card in the future.

  Look here: eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Pro v2.5, get the pro license (it costs peanuts), enter all of your components, the value of the system to 100% load and capacitor aging to 30%. Then add about 10-15% of the calculated power and attention to the amperage on the different tracks. Who will decide what PSU to get.

  One of the first improvements to your system will be to increase the memory 12 GB.

• New on Premiere CS4 - needing help...

  Hey guys, few questions.

  (1) what is the best settings to use for a new project? My project is to cut to the top of some of these old Asian movies, I (AVI container, codec H264, 640 x 320, 30 frames per second).

  (2) when I chose a framework that I thought was just to get in and go that video went strangely and in the preview is very far from where it should be. As in, bad scroll down to an hour in the film on the track and it will not be like 30 mins on the overview and the audio is WAAAAAAY off.

  Whatever the motivation behind the work, conversion of your source footage of the layer to DV - AVI Type II w / as 16-bit 48 KHz PCM/WAV Audio allows you to import, preview and edit perfectly.

  I use Converter DigitalMedia to do this. You WILL need to have the right CODEC (do not install more that you absolutely need) installed. In this case, it seems that you need Xvid (if you haven't), and I'd throw on DivX just to cover the bases. You should already have the MS DV CODEC, but if you do not, install this one also. Convert only once, in DV - AVI Type II and then import that. Given that your material has already undergone the Xvid compression, there is nothing to gain by going to a lossless CODEC, although they are good. What you'll get will be larger files with the same material "compressed" inside.

  Once you have these files DV - AVI Type II edition, you can then export to everything that you need for your scheduled delivery.

  Don't use MP4, don't use WMV, do not use. MOV, or anyone else. Stick to the DV - AVI Type II and it will be "as good as it gets."

  I have Windows Vista 64 bit with CS4, just bought a Nikon D7000. Now my RAW files do not load in CS4, it says that the file is not compatible. but they will load in my Lightroom 3. also using my old Nikon D80 has worked well in both Lightroon and CS4 using RAW files.  Help, please.

• Copy the new Document of CS4 presets to CS5.5

  I had a number of presets saved in InDesign CS4 document and just realized that I don't know how to copy versions CS4 in CS5.5 so I don't have to recreate them again (which is what I did in the previous updates). I have not found any who helps with the name or location of the presets. Can someone tell me please in the right direction?

  in CS4, file > Document presets > define...  Select them from the list, and then click Save.

  in CS5.5, folder Document presets > define...  Click on load and locate the file that you saved in the previous step.

• New construction for CS4, CS5 and set at level

  Hardware problems and I have to be upgraded even if I can't afford it.  I only need to run CS4, but I want to try to keep a path of easy upgrade to EMT and more RAM.  I think I can run CS5 on this platform for SD; do you agree?

  I followed the discussions (including the recent "CS4" and 'Budget should' and I have searched this forum for each component.)  But it is complex and a moving target.  so before I turn my wheels more, what do you think?  For many things, my decision point has been what is cheaper without ignoring completely the quality.  Several of these components appear to have the mail of discounts that are not reflected in the price.  Total is about $1400.  (All the newegg.)

  You are perfectly OK with this system for CS5 and SD/HDV for editing. You can not even the Velociraptor for now, until you have more funds available.

  You REALLY need to read F1 DW help on the use of the models.

  The idea is that create you a model.  Then you use this model to spawn a child page after the other (FILE |) New from template...).  Each of these new pages child would be the different pages of your site.  Each of these the same pages would contain navigation elements allowing you to get from one page to another.  It's a very simple concept.

• New to Flash CS4... How to remove a keyframe?

  I'm new to Flash and have two questions that I can't find an answer to in one of my books or online tuts.

  #1 I created a motion tween for my chart.  I have 10 keyframes in total, but went in I had 1 too.  I would delete it but when I go to the drop down menu to delete... I can only delete all the.  Or... what happens if I want to delete a keyframe in the middle of my trajectory?

  #2.  I have a keyframe in the same path and I would like to move elsewhere as scheduled.  When try Alt + click and drag... it moves the entire timeline.  I wonder if there is a way to do it.  I might miss, not here, what could be more advanced?

  To move an image, Ctrl/Cmd - click and drag to a new location one. It won't drag the entire range.

  To delete all keyframes of property on a single image, select it (Ctrl/Cmd-click), right-click and choose Remove image > all (or one of the other options if you just want to delete an image key type. Remove executives also works for an individual frame like this also, but it removes the frame, not only delete the keyframe.

  New movement spans allow you flexibility animate independent properties, which explains why there is more to just delete the image of the additional options.

  You can also remove individual keyframes of properties in the query editor.

  I am a student in San Diego and take an online class. I bought the version CS4 Master Collection student and made (what I thought was) a full install. However, after installation I noticed it did not installed any software that in the description on the back of the box. Programs that were not installed are: After Effects, Premiere Pro, its stand on the spot and still. I've included a screenshot of programs that have been installed. Am I missing a disk or?
