• Could use some advice for new Linksys E2500 please

  Just bought this for my parents and trying to implement. Never had any problems of implementation of a router in the past. After poping in the installation CD, the display shows all hang up, what I do. Then click on next, where it says 'Search network', then quickly changes to the "connecting to network", and then it says that it 'can't find router.". Made a mistake.  Check the settings, etc. Well, I know that the modem works fine, and I know that the router cables are properly connected to the modem. I can switch back to the old router (hook up looks exactly the same), and everything works.  (They have problems with bandwidth, which is one reason I bought a new router for Christmas).

  Also the same message if I connect directly to the new router VIA an ethernet cable. In addition, it's strange: when I just open a web browser and try to connect on the router 192.168.1.1, using no username admin password, it won't let me to the router. Even after I reset the router with a pen.  How is that even possible?  It should be default to the default password.  So now that I can't even try to configure it manually.

  Very, very frustrated and I could use some encouragement and direction. Please?  Quite a few please?

  I tried to reset the router again, and that fixed it all. All the lights are flashing the first time I did, but the last time did the trick.  I knew that there can be no meaning for the default password is not working. I guess I'm not hold in the reset button long enough.

  A prime example how frustration can create more frustration. Lesson learned... once again.

• Going a little crazy - could use some help please

  OK... Ive been reading about it all morning and I am a little confused and hoping for some fresh ideas.  I'm on a 64-bit Windows 7 system.  He had the first Elements 7, but now has 10.  I have a Canon HV20 HD camcorder.  I used this camcorder about 6 months ago to import video in first 7, and everything worked swimingly.  Import has been via Firewire.  Recently, I returned from a trip and was disturbed to know that I could no longer import video. On PE7, I received an error C++ + and being bounced on.  Since I'm on an older version, I splurged and bought 10.  Now it doesn't error, but I can not capture the content. I can control the camcorder, but when I go to capture I get audio blurred and a few flashes of pixelizaiton on a black screen the case.  Content looks good on the camcorder, but is not seized.  Video files created look identical to the garbled audio capture preview and some pixelation at the top of the screen.  I updated drivers Firewire, rolled, firewire drivers video drivers rear, Quicktime,... checked update modes for the camcorder and nothing seems to work.  Any ideas?  Thank you!

  It is certainly possible.

  Fortunately, a new FireWire card can be had for less than $20 at Amazon.com. Any card IEEE 1394 compatible OHCI should work (although it probably should also appear in the compatible 64-bit Windows 7).

• Could use some advice - My AV button on my remote switch not entered for 610q

  Hope that anyone with a TouchSmart 610 1180qd could comment as to whether or not their touch AV on the remote control allows to switch their contributions from sources on the computer?  I just switched the computer to the problem and the other does the same thing.   I can spend using the PIP software without problem.   Have spent hours with technical support and it doesn't seem to be a ready solution - wondering if it's just a defect in design with the model.

  I hope that anyone with a similar model could let me know if it works for them or not, so I can assess what to do next.

  I spoke with Tech Support again and think I got an answer that makes sense.  It seems that the problem is related to the ATI graphics card (my setup is 2GB ATI 5570 card) and the Intel processor and its interaction with the HDMI ports.  The alternative would be to reconfigure the computer to the NVIDIA card (whose only confirures with the 1 GB card for this version of the computer) or the reconfirure with the AMD processor.

  I think I'll just live with the lack of functionality and keep the computer configured as it is.

  If you are referring to records of recovery of the manufacturer that came with your computer or the recovery discs that you made from the recovery Partition, YES they can be used to reinstall Windows 7 on your new hard drive.

  The latest version of Camera Raw compatible with Photoshop CS6 is Camera Raw 9.1.1. There will be no updates available for Photoshop CS6. This message tells you that Lightroom has additional changes that your version of Camera Raw is perhaps not able to interpret when you send an image from Lightroom to Photoshop. You are given the choice. You can open the image in any case, or you can let Lightroom create a copy that includes all adjustments of Lightroom and send this copy to Photoshop. In most cases, you want to make the second choice. When this warning message is displayed, I think that there is a checkbox to indicate not not to show it again. The only way that you can solve the problem would be to upgrade to Photoshop CC 2015. If not, simply select the option to edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments.

  There are many solutions. A more simple: put the text and the items colored in the back and put the 'shape' on it. Configuration of the 'shape' become transparent in a stationary state.

  Sometimes my keys work well, as now. Other times, without having to reboot, some keys like R, Y, 5, 0, do not work when I press them.   It is possible that you could change some things in the registry, but there are many other "clues" as something being a virtual machine, such as the presence of tools VM, MAC address, drivers, etc.

  Vodkaholic27, let me start with the layoff of vodka for a bit and then set Virtual Machine network card to bridged and then assign a static IP address that is appropriate for the guest as the physical LAN operating system is the host.  Then in the local physical network for static IP address router you assigned in the guest OS configure it to allow Port Forwarding on the appropriate port.  Then, you will be able to access from outside local physical host network.  If it's just on the other system on the physical LAN to the host that you want to access the guest you need not set up the Port Forwarding on the router on the local physical host network, simply use linked by a bridge to the network adapter in the Virtual Machine.  If you use NAT to the NIC of the Virtual Machine, then you need to set Port Forwarding in the virtual network Editor.

  Note: The virtual network Editor is not installed by default in Vmware Player 3.x and later versions.

  To install the missing virtual network Editor, the command prompt:

  VMware-player-*.exe -e c:\vmptmp
  

  Then in the c:\vmptmp folder find the file c:\vmptmp\network.cab and extract (double-click on the .cab file) vmnetcfg.exe (virtual network editor) file in the working directory of VMware Player usually 'C:\Program VMware Player' or ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware Player.  You can create a shortcut and place it with the shortcut of VMware Player, if you want to access it more easily.  Note: there are some for all the files to be extracted to then access the network.cab file.
