New users not in ESX Admins in AD

We use AD authentication, works perfectly, with the group Admins of ESX.  We must now add a few users, temporarily on a test host couple.  We do not want to add to the ESX Admins in AD.

If we simply add them to the passwd on the host and sudoers file, that will work?  In other words, they will still get the AD passthrough authentication?  Or must we treat them as local accounts completely and create passwords on the host?

You must create local users or change all the files.  Just go to the permissions tab for the host and select Add permission.   When you add a user, you must change the domain (server) in your AD domain name.

  • My admin user account disappeared when I added a new user and now I don't know how to access or modify my user accounts.

I have three accounts of users set up and we had to be the administrator account, but it changed to a standard user account and now I'm sunk.  I had changed the original admin user account to a standard user account, and then made a new admin user account.  I did this so I could spy on girl teenager without his knowledge so that I can be sure it is safe online with parental controls.  I used the new admin user account to set up parental controls.  The next morning, when I saw the new user account, he had transformed into a standard account and now I have no admin user account.  A thing pops up to tell me to put a password for admin (have no idea what it is that I've made a new) but in any case there is no place you can type into it if I had to guess even.  Now, I totally don't know what made my daughter and can not change anything with parental control.

    Hello

The problem is probably damaged the ADMIN account, you were when you created the user account.

Log on as an ADMINISTRATOR or use the HAA below and REMOVE the user account that you created. Then move forward
as if your ADMIN account (the one you used to make this account user) has been corrupted. Once you are sure
It is OK then DISABLE the HAA - login to your ADMIN account and make a different for USER account
    see if everything is OK.

Try these to erase corruption and missing/damaged file system repair or replacement.

    2. start - type in the search - box COMMAND find top - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

Then do-, use the hidden administrator account to lower your user account (to the lowest level) APPLY/OK
then go back and reset it to the Admin APPLY/OK - this clearly allows corruption. Do this several times. Do the

Make another Admin account with your password and use it to fix the others if necessary. (just for

  • New user - profile will not be created

To create a new user and try to connect, I get the following error message: "the user profile Service has no logon. User profile cannot be loaded. "I'm running Windows 7 x 64 SP1.

    My current setup is:
C: drive (SSD) Program Files, Windows, ProgramData.
X: drive (HDD) users and everything.

I use the administrator account under my account. To configure the system, I created a temporary, connected user, modify the registry to point the Users directory on drive X: (and moved Public folders by default in the X:\Users directory). Then, I turned on the Admin account and connected with it. This has created my profile on drive X.

However, I am creating another account user to test with. The account is named 'Test '. I have the error in quotes when attempts of to the. I checked the X:\Users file and there is no profile for the Test account, not even a folder for it. I tried to copy the profile by default and rename it, but no dice. I also checked the folder seemed to have the appropriate permissions (full control to system, administrators, an administrator as the Test account was an admin account as well). There is no entry in the registry in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ for the Test user, so I'm a utility that could find SID from users and created an entry for it, but still, I get the error message when you try to connect.

    Any ideas?

I solved the problem.  It turns out that the record of X:\Users\Default necessary to give the "everyone" group to read, display the contents of the folder and read and execute permissions. When I copied the profile by default via the user profile screen, it didn't apply permissions; He inherited only those of the destination folder.  The event viewer showed that Windows was not allowed to copy the default profile in the X:\Users\Test folder.  When I have everyone gave permission group in the default profile folder, I was then able to connect with new users (and then ask them to create profiles automatically).

  • I cannot create new user accounts and have tried all the steps listed in all of the current discussions, does not

Good people you've heard of this one before:

I can connect to my basic admin account, but not others.  I tried to create new user accounts after you delete the old user accounts but system would not apparently carry out process.  I get the following warning:

Service user profile Service failed to connect
    User profile cannot be loaded.

I tried all of the recommended patches (see list below)

1 ran all appropriate steps as stated in the article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215 - no joy
There is not other profiles listed in the register except the administrator account on the basis and since I couldn't connect successfully to a user apparently newly created accounts, the profile has not completed the process of generation.

    2. I have not ran the SFC system - no joy.  He replied with the following: Windows Resource Protection did not find any breach of integrity.

    Then... of other big ideas?

  • Windows 8.1 did not create a user profile after creating a new user

I was deeply puzzled by this problem.

Just bought a MS Surface Pro 128 GB and upgraded to 8.1 Windows it works fine until I needed to create a new user. He is a user of child for my daughter with a local account only. After creating the new user account, I tried to logon. He complained "user profile Service does not have the sign in» Google it and found the solution to change the registry for the location of the profile displayed on many sites. So I launched regedit. But to my surprise, there is no entry for the new user to the profilelist title - there are only two entries: one for me (admin), and the other is for a user named "fwuser". So I couldn't use the method to rename the master for this problem.

Could someone give me a tip, which could cause this problem and how to fix it? Much appreciate it.

  • New user Admin cannot SSH

    Hello

I need to provide information so that they are able to carry out remote maintenance SAN from Dell. Part of this information is the user name and the password of a user that can cannect to the hosts that are connected to the San via SSH. I don't want to give the root password, so I created a new user who is an administrator, and want to give them these details to the user.

I changed the secuiity profile, sort of SSH is enabled. However, when I try to connect to the ESX host using Putty it says access denied. I can connect on the same host using PuTTY if I log in as root. There no option in ESX 4.1 to select "Grant access the user's shell" as in versions previous, when you set up the user, so there must be an entry in a configuration somewhere file that specifies that the users can connect via SSH? Anyone know where is this file, or if not a file, how do I enable SSH access to a specified user?

    Thank you

    Ben

OK let's check how it works for me with ESXi (I just tested it with two different servers ESXi 4.1, build/updates-numbers):

    1 useradd testuser

    2 passwd testuser

    3 /etc/security/access.conf line: +: testuseruser:ALL

    4. switch shell/bin/Ash in/etc/passwd

5 set the directory in/etc/passwd. / Home / is not available on ESXi, so I change to / or/tmp

6 ssh connection works - without any restart of the service

Please check all these points again to make shure you erase the line access.conf etc.

If this does not help, proceed as follows after the access denied message:

In Putty, press ctrl + right on the mouse-> 'Event Log' and take a look what part of authentication has failed.

  • Opening a session with the user not admin

    Hi all

I get this error when I connect with the user not admin.

"Application is in maintenance mode, new connections are not allowed."

No idea about this will be really helpful.

You must identify yourself with the admin user and exit maintenance mode, the steps are here:-http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hp_admin/ch10s02s05.html

That could post even though the steps are sometimes people find a bond far too difficult.

    Select Administration, Application and settings.
For the show, select Advanced settings.
    Click OK.
    Select system settings.
Application in Maintenance mode, select an option to allow use of the Application to:

All users: all users can log in or continue working with the application.
Administrator: Only administrators can log on. Other users are driven out and prevented to connect until the option is given to all users.
Owner: Only the owner of the application can connect. All other users are unable to open a session. If they are currently logged in, they are forced from the system until the option is given to all users or administrators. Only the owner of the application can restrict administrators to use the application.

If your selection is more restrictive than the current setting, click OK.
    Click Save.
