What is the setting of the home page if you check the value of the browser.startup.homepage pref on the topic: config page?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

Firefox support Home page (s) by default in a new window.

When I open a new tab, a new window opens
I used to be able to open multiple tabs in the same window of Firefox. Now, every time I click on a link or access an external link hyper, a new window opens instead of a new tab in the existing window.
Browser.Link.open_newwindow has the value of integer type and a value of 3.
It seems not to matter. The problem persists. I don't want to do a refresh or uninstall and reinstall a new copy. What can I do to fix this? As I said, it has never been this way before and it seems to have started to happen out of nowhere.
Try to set browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external 3 as well.
Have you checked your extensions (associate tab)?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

Using firefox 14.0.1. Load a link using the right click and "Open link in new window", translates into a new window opens but doesn't show URL address bar. However, if I click with the right button on a link and select "Open link in a new tab", the tab displays the URL in the address bar. If it works when a new tab it's not in a new window.

New window opens next to old rather than at the end of the taskbar.
Everytime I open a new Firefox window, it opens the window to the right of the previously opened window, instead of all the way to the right end of the taskbar. How can I change so the new window opens it?
If you're referring to new tabs instead of new windows...
You can change a preference to open tabs
- at the end of all tabs open
- immediately after the active tab.
See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config
- Type of topic: config in the URL bar and press the Enter key.
- If you see warning, accept it (promise to be careful).
- Filter = browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent
- Look at the column 'Value' (' false= open to end, real= open after the current tab "); Value = true is the default value.
- Double-click this preference to switch the value from true to false and false to true
- Restart Firefox (file > restart Firefox)
- See: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2010/02/01/change-firefox-to-open-new-tab-at-far-right-end-of-tabbar-disable-insert-next-to-current-active-tab/
Some add-ons (like Tab Mix Plus and other tab extensions), may also have an impact on the opening of a tab position.

Using Firefox 8.0.1 on an iMac. When I open Firefox, the bookmarks toolbar is fine, but when I connect to Hotmail, it opens a new window and the toolbar disappears.
Under the view menu, the bookmarks bar is always checked, but the toolbar is not there.
Sites Web can remove the appearance of the toolbars on the pop-up windows that they open.
Do you really need the bar tools bookmarks to appear when you view your Hotmail email address?
If so, Type Subject: config in the URL bar and press ENTER.
If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access this page.Filter = dom.disable_window_open_feature.toolbar = double-click this pref to switch to true , and then restart Firefox.
