Newbie: Can't compile app SketchPad for PlayBook

I'm working through the PlayBook Simulator first timer instructions and I got to date: compile an application BlackBerry WebWorks

I downloaded archive SketchPad Standard and issued the compilation command, and that's what I got:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry WebWorks Packager for PlayB
ook\bbwp>bbwp c:\Users\Lane\Downloads\sketchPadStandard.zip /s archive_source /o

What should I do now?

Thank you.

Hi bugloaf

If you are running

bbwp c:\Users\Lane\Downloads\sketchPadStandard.zip

then your compilation should work.

If you specify the absolute paths try paths

C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry WebWorks Packager for PlayBook\bbwp>bbwp c:\Users\Lane\Downloads\sketchPadStandard.zip /s c:\OUT_DIR /o c:\OUT_DIR\compiled /v

Njoy coding

BTW, everything works fine when I tried to install a flashair app using playbook SDK flashAir.

    @jmace

I just tested your batch file and it works perfectly fine on my installation. No errors.

Have you tried to reinstall the Simulator? I had to install and uninstall 3 times until I'm mining work. Not the same problem, but worth a try maybe.

  • I can't delete app icons for my new IPhone 7, when I press and hold on the icon it shows if I want to share the app?

IM cannot delete apps from the iPhone 7 when I press the icon, he asks me if I want to share?

    any ideas?

You do not press and hold.  You press VERY briefly until the icons wiggle and X in the upper right corner.  You can remove the application.  Not all applications (for example, settings, photo, Messages, pictures, clock) can be deleted.

R20 will support compilation app customized for Windows 8.1? We have several customers waiting for this feature soon.

    Hi Leo,

Your customers have tested for their content with the Adobe Content Viewer in the Windows store? If they are satisfied with the feature and please contact me directly via a private message and I will provide information on how we can build viewers personalized for your customers to enter the store Windows. Unfortunately we do not have App Builder for this at the moment so this is sort of a manual process.

  • BlackBerry App World for 8520 smartphones

Where can I download App World for Curve 8520?

Yes... If the AppWorld is not available in a particular country, then it is not available. But, as I said above, it is simply a portal providing applications developed for the most part by third parties. There are many other portals, which I listed some in my previous post. Google might be a good friend to you in your quest.

  • convert adobe flex web app for playbook air application?

Hey, I am very new to this sort of thing and was using a Visual tool to help me create applications web flex. My question is can I convert these to operate as air apps on the playbook?

Given that I don't really know action script.

Also, can you recommend any good books, tutorials, or interactive Web sites that would help me to learn action script? Thank you!

Some MX controls (OK, a lot) are not supported under the BB SDK.  For example, mx. Alert does not work, you must use the AlertDialog QNX class.  See docs QNX to:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/developers/docs/airapi/1.0.0/index.html

In addition, FlashBuilder is the IDE that is supprted, Flex Builder (3.x) is not supprted.  FlashBuilder 4.x is what you need, but which is not supported under Linux.  You should be able to download the 0.9.1 BB SDK for Linux and the use of the CLI version for a project of will.

If you are a Flex application, you need to change the root node of a node (Application or WindowedApplication) AIR (if not already done).  If so, act like and more taking orders from MX which are not supported, I keep your business logic and simply change the front-end server with native controls of QNX/BB.

But first, I would try just get a "Hello World" application to compile and run as an AIR application and then send it on the Simulator to get their feet wet.  then see what it would take to get your application scope.

    Hope that helps.

  • Ripple can not build app Playbook: the system cannot find the path specified.

Not a huge surprise here, but I tried to compile my app for Playbook in undulation. After following all the steps of downloading all the SDKs, get and save new keys, have all the files in place, etc.. Ripple can simply with:

Oh Snap! Build request failed with message: The system cannot find the path specified.

Without rhyme or reason. No way to detect what it is. Ripple is dangerously wrong sometimes. And the "Oh Snap!" part is terribly boring.

I was able to build the application via command line (which requires you to make a zip file of everything manually... * sigh *).

Anyone know how it is possible to debug?

    Hi shnuffy,

Assuming that the Tablet is the installation folder which includes bbwp and jre, you'll want your SDK path pointing there. Example:

    C:\BBWP\tablet

For example, my Tablet SDK is installed in this folder that is used in my Path SDK:

C:\Program Search SDK WebWorks Motion\BlackBerry to Tablet 2.2.0.5

Note that I am assuming that your path refers to the folder that contains bbwp.exe, but you really want to make a folder of higher level.

Other paths seems fine. Can you give than to try and confirm if you still have questions?

  • I bought ipad air 1 after that 2013 but can not get the pages for free. Numbers and imovie I can. IOS9 running at the moment. I have pages when I connect on icloud on my pc. Can I transfer iPad app, because it is not in the ILO purchased in itunes.

Hi everyone, this is my first post, also help on the post would be appreciated.

I bought ipad air 1 after that 2013 but can not get the pages for free. Numbers and imovie I can. IOS9 running at the moment. I have pages when I connect on icloud on my pc. Can I transfer iPad app, because it is not in the ILO purchased in itunes.

    Thanks in advance

    Newbie

The only way to install an ipad app is through the app store.  PC or Mac software does not run on the ipad.  Search in the contacts link at the bottom right of this page.  Give apple a call.

I guess is the icon for pages in icloud for storing documents pages.  At the same time, apple had a cloud based pages.  Not sure what happened to her.

  • Better route for MDS for PlayBook app support?

    RIM ISV here

looking to port our ISV BlackBerry 6.0 and app Android 2.3 for the PlayBook.

We are a COMPUTER security product is therefore the biggest concern.

Our product requires request HTTP and Socket connections MDS (via BlackBerry Bridge or other) level.

What is the proposed route of action?

    • Write a new app Playbook Adobe Air SDK?

    • Wait for Playbook Java Player?

    • Expect the Android player?

Not that I know of. Someone can correct me if that's wrong.

The reason is (I believe) because the devices are wifi only at this time and have no native functionality of PIM, so they just don't need. Later this year, there are supposed to be announced with integrated wireless modems, and I have to assume that direct connections of MDS will be available right here.

You can use the browser 'bridge' If you have the bridge connected in order to get the connection through your BB smartphone user. However, the capacity is not exposed in the SDK.

Overall, the SDK is rather limited at this stage. I would say that it supports only 30% of the capabilities of the Java SDK currently EHF.

  • Newbie needs help can not compile a form of Oracle 10 g

I'm trying to compile a form in Oracle 10 G. in the/u01/dba/oracle/product/1012ias/bin directory there is a script called frmcmp.sh which I assume is the correct script to use. He calls the frmcmp executable (it means compiling form, right?). Anway, I get the error

FRM-91500: unable to start/complete the construction.

This is on a HP - UX, HP - UX 11.11 running machine.

I have unsuccessfully trying to get an answer on the Oracle website, and documentation that I have watched so far fail to solve the problem.

    I hate being a newbie!

    Thank you
    Harold

for this you need to Xwindows session, if do not, you can do it by function as command line.

    * frmcmp.sh USERID=manager/manager@dbname MODULE_TYPE = form MODULE = form.fmb *.

  • How can I see history in-app purchase for members of the family sharing?

I use the sharing of family and try to view the purchase history of my family members.  I know that I can tap into "updates" and discover complete an individual family members buying it in the App Store (on my phone).  But I don't see a way of watching the in-app purchases made by these people.  App iTunes on my computer, the purchase history displays only purchases made by my personal Apple ID.

How can I view the purchase history WHOLE (including in-app purchases) for members of the family share?

You can see total buying an iTunes via the computer iTunes account: see your purchase history in iTunes on Mac or PC - Apple Support store

You can also view past purchases for 90 days by http://reportaproblem.apple.com

(What shows in the updates is not necessarily a complete list of bought/downloaded apps - applications that have been removed from the store will not show, more than apps that the person has hidden from the cloud not show incompatible applications.)

How can I find the history of the app on itunes or the app store for my iphone 5? I got an iphone 5s and it broke... now I have another but want to see the history of my old phone apps.

If you are connected to the same Apple ID you used with the old iPhone, just open the App Store App and look in the tab under purchased for applications updates.

And less... More-> purchased in the iTunes App for music, movies etc...
