Newbie on the vector art questions

I am importing some vector clipart. I need to convert to grayscale before I can use it.

QUESTION #1: Can I convert it to grayscale in InDesign, or should I open art in Illustrator and convert grayscale it?

QUESTION #2: Since this is the vector art, can I simply intensify it as top that I do, or do I need to say ID or Illustrator what size I want?

Thank you.

1. you must do this in Illustrator.

2. the scale to your heart's content.

  • Vector Art Question

    I have two images to vector art that should be combined into a single model of After Effects. One is a bottom plate and the other is a vector of a person. The slide of the person and the backround will go fuzzy with the text on top.

    I made a model to the top and the bottom plate looks flat as it should. The bottom plate is complicated, but he doesn't any texture to it, all solid colors. I'm looking for tricks that can be done in Photoshop to give it a dimension a little more. I know there are a lot of extrusion and 3D filters in Photoshop, but I have this work experimenting with the vector art.

    Been looking for tutorials but I probably don't mean good things. I want to give this plate backround some pop.

    Thank you.

    If I understand you correctly, and you are wanting to create a real movement after effects comp, you can import your Photoshop file with vectors, or just the vector files individual, in After Effects, convert 3D layers, separate layers in 3D space and moving a camera through them to create what is called a 2.5 D effect.  If you are looking for tutorials of 2.5 D on the internet you can find dozens.  Here's the first example I found in a Google search.  It's more to make advanced 2.5 D animation and compositing, but just check and let us know if that's what you try to do...

  • Newbie on the aperture lens question sets

    I did have the chance to try a goal at opening fixed yet. I just wanted to know if you can still change the opening of like for example f/2.8 to f/8 or more. ? Or is the only opening you can f/2.8. How does this work?

    This is not a "fixed" aperture because it cannot be changed.  This means that this isn't a "variable" opening that changes as the focal length changes.  This lens keeps f2.8 it is thanks to its focal range.  It can and it has all the apertures from f2.8 to f22.

    This goal is, BTW, the best 24-70mm made today.  There's nothing better.

  • How to make a sketch in .jpeg to the vector art?

    Hello: Level: still quite new operating system: Windows 7 64-bit here: Cs6

    Thus, a friend made a sketch and sent to me by e-mail and the sketch is on a grey bg background and in a .jpeg format

    I tried the Trace tool, however, when I hit the record button it is to select the entire page and the sketch lacks in total

    I searched intermittently for a few days now for a tut on Adobe tv, manual, etc., but so far, I've been unable to find a solution

    I used the pen tool, but I'm not good of an artist (which is likely), or I'm not advanced enough to draw out/trace the sketch so that it looks good enough to be a logo. (sigh)

    in fact, I'm doing fairly well with the pen tool, but it's the detail (I think) that I'm stumping.

    The pencil seems to be an idea but I did not yet find a tut or instructions re: how an open path (am I still looking for that one)

    UH... so... I thought I saw a vid that showed a sketch that are traced. It does not mention what format the sketch has been...

    Ideas?

    Your time, thoughts, ideas etc. are greatly appreciated

    JPEGs are great for tracking, but you must work with the highest image quality possible in terms of resolution (or the most appropriate resolution for the amount of detail expect you as well as the overall desired effect of trace). The problem may stem from the fact that the sketch is on a dark background. Also, make sure that the image is selected before using Image Trace. For me, using Image path with success, it's more about pre - and post-production on the image. Adobe TV is a good tutorial, discuss how to work with Photoshop to prepare an image to draw Live: http://adobe.ly/w7ZfCi

    This is a screencap showing the best image (right) and function of trace on the original (left). These same techniques can be requested from Trace of Image CS6.

    Good luck and I hope that solve you your problem.

  • Newbie with the mouse event question

    Hello! I started playing with as3, and I have a function for mouse clicks that draws a shape on each click. However, the mouse click event does not appear to work except when I click on a MovieClip, that I placed in the middle of the screen. Is there a way to make the mouse click event recognize when I click anywhere on the screen?

    Thank you

    Will be

    public void newGame()

    {

    Avatar = new Avatar();                                                  Click the mouse entered only when you click on the avatar?

    addChild (avatar);

    avatar.x = mouseX;

    avatar.y = mouseY;

    addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, clickHandler);

    gameTimer = new Timer (25);

    gameTimer.start ();

    }

    you need to add the event listener to the stage

    stage.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, clickHandler);

    However you must make sure that this step is not null

    If the code above throws an exception to reference null, you'll also need to add and ADDED_TO_STAGE listener

    post the rest of your code and I can help you with that

  • Newbie on the Oracle process question

    Hello

    I read that the Oracle background processes are dbw0, lgw0, trunc, smon, pmon, cjq0 and arc0. However, I noticed that these processes are not in the list of processes. I'm in Oracle Database 11g in Oracle Enterprise Linux. I see that there is an Oracle process well. Background processes are included within the Oracle process for a given case?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Prevent the PS scale of the vector elements slipped to adjust the canvas?

    I am drag and paste work created in artificial intelligence in PS the canvas PS is 1920 x 1080 and the work of HAVE is bigger than that. When I drag and paste the vector art on the PS canvas, Photoshop is changing the work to fit the canvas. I don't want to do, I want it retains its size. Any ideas how to make this happen?

  • Rastorized Vector Art becomes translucent

    Sometimes I'm vector art that seems to be quite normal and opaque: screenshot 1

    Picture 1.png

    Then I try to convert the file into an image rastor for the purposes of presentation and what happens:

    Picture 2.png

    If you can see the first photo, the vector art is just opaque, but in the second image, it was rasterized and seems to be on transparency "multiply". You can also note in the screenshot 1 tab transparency on the right indicates the vector art as usual. However, if I take each piece individually and pixelation, he would look normal, as such: screenshot 3

    Picture 3.png

    If I save for web and devices, export to JPEG, or using object > Rastorize (all together), this problem happens. However, it happens only occasionally, and only in the document CMYK color mode. I have rastorized of hundreds of such images without these problems. The graphics in the screenshot have been copied directly from a file I was working with, and I was not the creator of this art, so I do not know the process that occurred to create in the first place. However, the attribute is transferable with the tool drops eyepieces.

    Anyone have an explanation?

    See the attributes Panel and check if Overprinting is enabled. If this is the case, turn the power off.

  • Understanding vector art

    If I need to use some vector clipart, but I have to guarantee that it is 100 percent to grayscale without color, I understand that I have to open in Illustrator and change it to grayscale. This is the most safe, exact option?

    I work with a designer who chooses to use Photoshop for the same mission. It opens the vector art in Photoshop and then change it to grayscale and it scales compared to how he wants.

    If I use Illustrator to work with vector art, the advantage is that the art remains a vector image real, right?

    If my designer used Photoshop, which means that it is the pixelation (bitmapping) vector image and once it resizes it, it's size, it will be.

    Am I right on that?

    JoJo,

    Yes.

    Yes

    Yes, in general; Photoshop has vector options, like the Illy a rasterization options.

  • Conversion of PDF to form alter vector art in the document.

    I have created several forms of PDF files exported from InDesign.They are all the same except with different header text. Everyone has the same exact logo down the Center. What happens with a particular is when I go to create a display of the existing document and chose this pdf file, modifies the logo art and removes the text in the logo. This happens in Acrobat. In the InDesign file, the logo is an eps placed with all policies described. Everything in this file of logo is vector art.

    I tried many pdf export affecting InDesign, rampage indd files as pdf and create new files, restart the programs and restart my computer. None of this has fixed the problem. He always removes the type in the logo when I convert to the form. If anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix? Thank you.

    Yes, I mean you don't have only the design of form, but create the fields of the form with InDesign. You will have no need to do step 4, which must be based on conjecture and can make mistakes.

  • Selection problem.  I imported a piece of vector art: a guy in a t-shirt and jeans.  I want to change the color of the t-shirt but when I "select", the whole picture gets selected including the head, arms and jeans.  How to isolate the t-shirt?

    I imported a piece of vector art that shows a man wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans.  I want to change the color of the t-shirt, but, when I 'select', not only the GET selected shirt made from the head, arms and blue jeans guy.  How do I isolate the image so I am just by selecting the t-shirt?

    Gabriel,

    What happens if you click the fill with the direct Selection tool, and then try?

    Or try to locate T shirt in the layer in the layers palette and select there, then try? You may need to click one or more arrows to look in under/groups/cutting masks / whatever.

    Is there a way to save out/export vector art of the Flash to open as a vector art in Illustrator CC?

    Yes Alesclandre, we are looking in the workflows of Flash-Illustrator for the next update and we will have a Flash export vector that can be imported into Adobe Illustrator.

  • Any of the vectors appearing as 'Vector Art sequence' not 'vector '.

    I use After Effects CS6

    I imported recently some Illustrator files into a composition in After effects for a project. I imported the as a composition so I can use the different layers in the document. Files for one of the documents are vector art, but the others came into sequences of samples of Vector art. I don't know the difference between the two. I read on the forums that it has something to do with the option 'force alphabetical order' box. I have made sure it is not verified and have tried all the options to import a compostion, still no luck.

    Is this something that needs to be done to the Illustrator himself file? Or I take a few steps correctly. Also, I would like to understand the difference between Vector Art files and Vector Art sequences. As far as I know is that both can be continuously rasterized, so it doesn't seem a threat to my project.

    Thanks for your time.

    You had activated the 'Séquence' box at some point. Simply use the file--> Repalce images and load the files again with the correct options.

  • Newbie on the video quality in CS3 question

    I'm new to Premiere CS3. I use iMovie but wanted to move up to an application with more features and grain more fine tuning. However, I have difficulty getting my clips imported to maintain their quality. Don't know if I have PrCS3 configured incorrectly or if I don't know enough about video formats.

    I'm under first v3.2.0 (374) on a MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 3 GB memory, OSX 10.6.6

    Here is my scenario:

    I have a video clip with the following specifications: .mov, 720 x 480, H.264, 30 fps, bitrate 244 (see screen capture below). It was captured from my computer using Snapz Pro X.

    original_mov_file.jpg

    I have imported the clip of PrCS3 and was surprised that the preview of the clip and composite overview posted less quality than the original (even made that quality mode has been set to the 'up'). The video clip was a bit of a hurry and clean edges of my vector art have been shredded. The whole thing seemed blurry.

    PrCS3_clip preview.jpg

    PrCS3_composite_preview.jpg

    I thought that the exported video could be better. I exported the sequence using the following parameters:

    Premiere_export_settings.jpg

    But the results were not better (I actually got the best results using iMovie HD). This is the last sequence exported.

    Premiere_test_movie.jpg

    Any help from the community of PrCS3 would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    I recommend Photo-JPEG, well for the screenshots, the Animation is very good.  Try a short capture with each of them to see which you like best.

  • Windows Media Player 11. Way to change the batteries in the album art library the order in artist view?

    Hello

    (A purely aesthetic problem here)

    In windows media player when look at a library in the artist discovers mode, my albums are indicated as "batteries" under each name of respective artists. What determines the order of these batteries? Is it possible to choose the order yourself?

    I want to be able to choose because I don't like the look of some of my album covers, and I'd rather have my favorites upstairs.

    Thank you very much

    Adam

    Hi Adamclarke,

    You can sort albums by choosing the options to sort the album art, title, length, rating and other areas.

    Above the albums listed, right-click on the album and choose sort by album. In the same way, you can sort the other areas.
