News on Oracle certification

Hi there guys.

I did OCP 10 g Certification a few months back... Now, I want to make the Certifications for Oracle Database 10g R2: administering RAC & Oracle E-Business Suite R12. Is there any requirement for these exams? I will have to take courses for these certifications or can I give a review of course student?

Thank you.

First of all, there is a Community of Certification where it would be more appropriate.

Second, assuming you're a DBA OCP (there are a lot of different OCP certifications) 10 g, you would not need additional training in the classroom in order to obtain a RAC ECO 10 g certification. There are a ton of different certifications of E-Business Suite so I don't know which particular talk and think. You can go to the website of Oracle certification for Oracle all certification requirements that you are interested in.

Digital badges are a concept that allows employers to be certain that no one 'X' that says that they hold (for example) Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional 12 c credential - really holds them there. No 'X' can now fill their LinkedIn profile "Certifications" section with any number of impressive certifications - if they have really them.  Digital badges, however, are verified by a collaboration between Acclaim (a service digital badging from Pearson view) and LinkedIn.  Someone cannot display a digital badge of a credential given without having actually been verified to hold.

    http://certmag.com/Digital-badges-may-help-bridge-certification-credibility-gaps/

In any case - to my knowledge - there is nothing you need to do.  Application of digital badges Oracle is in the baby-steps stage and I know they will continue to roll out over the coming months.  They should send email to certification holders to allow them to perform the badging process.  I think they started with the CMO credentials as a test and increase outside with others.

  • New to Oracle - interested in certification SQL

I am new to Oracle and am interested to learn SQL, but have to pay myself, seeks to do this through Oracle books.

    Have you noticed that there is a review called Oracle SQL Fundamentals I, who has his own book: [http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0071597867/ref=s9_sima_gw_s0_p14_t1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE & pf_rd_s = center-1 & pf_rd_r = 0NNERWYN8T9PAX64B5HG & pf_rd_t = 101 & pf_rd_p = 467198433 & pf_rd_i = 468294]

However, it doesn't seem to be a book for Oracle SQL Fundamentals II, although I saw somewhere that it will be published before the end of the year?

This book seems to cover everything, but is for 9i: [http://www.amazon.com/OCP-Introduction-Oracle9i-Exam-Guide/dp/0072195371]

    Just a few basics:

Which is the best db Oracle. Download for Windows XP that I can put on more than one computer, it is better for my sql certification?

Can I take the exam SQL 9i or it is no longer used (can't seem to download from anywhere?)

Can I take the exam at the Oracle headquarters or an authorized service center, without their own path?

    Thank you very much

The book is related to the exam 1z0-051. I'm not sure it's the best way to learn SQL from scratch. However, since once you know a little SQL book is useful, though sometimes, some might say t make sure that you get enough practice.

However, it doesn't seem to be a book for Oracle SQL Fundamentals II, although I saw somewhere that it will be published before the end of the year?

Don't worry in the short term. There is a review of SQL, you may want to consider longer term (1z0-047), but which is advanced. ISBN-13: 978 - 0071498500 probably apply the material (but does not focus on the review... maybe it's a good thing).

Oracle is resource intensive; and more as it increases version numbers.

10g XE [http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/xe/index.html] is perfect, EXCEPT that it is 10g 11g not and cannot indicate features of 11g but its greate from the manageability perspective.

11 GR 1 material has a much higher footprint, but course has all the features.

Unfortunately, it's a choice s one or the other. and historically the windows uninstaller can be an ightmare.

I think that I must really be suggesting you look at virtualization - example: [http://www.virtualbox.org/] to run Oracle 10 g XE at first... but then again I am not sure if I'm over complicating things and have not tried it myself.

Versions of the database newever and reviews using the SQL syntax that is no longer compatible with ansi standards more late especially in the use of the joins of tables in my humble OPINION.

Can I take the exam SQL 9i or it is no longer used (can't seem to download from anywhere?)

You can take the exam but its is no longer available for download. REF for example unable to download Oracle 9i database (any version)

Can I take the exam at the Oracle headquarters or an authorized service center, without their own path?

You can take in some centres of Pearson VIEW [http://pearsonvue.com/oracle/locate]. (1z0-051 can also be taken online).

    Thank you very much

If you want some tutorials to practice simple SQL online be sure to visit [www.w3schools.org] but attention to other SQL dialects. This site is safe certification, but there are many who are not. Some people told me that the results to be a DBA change completely when you have a VERY BIG DATABASE.

    * Partitioning

    * more large block size - MAS vs. OLTP

    * etc.

This forum is probably your best choice, Brandye would be one of the contacts I would use to make such a request.  If you are really interested in this, I would be further demand more.  Specifically, most Oracle certifications available to have a corresponding course available in the OU. If you want to create a new certification, one of the most compelling arguments would be to suggest a certification that tests information for which there are already one or more courses.  Looking at the current offerings of courses 12 c, the following two seem to come more close to what you ask for:

Database Oracle 12 c: implement partitioning Ed 1

Parallel processing in Oracle Database 12 c Ed 1

These areas are covered somewhat in 1Z0 - 117.  You will need to make a case for a certification that hit different areas of knowledge.  Looking at the course for both subjects, partitioning has more that are not covered in-depth on 117.  However, it is supposed to be a 12 c Data Warehousing expertise certification coming out this year that may require a partitioning good knowledge.

  • Registration with Pearson VIEW Oracle Certification - experiences

    * Please note that I already have an account with Pearson VIEW (but obviously wrt another Test program).

    * I made VERY sure that I hand by Prometric ID before starting the process.

    * on the first attempt through bigdelboy missed the radio button to say that his company was not a partner of oracle, he then allowed by field Oracle ID(Prometric ID) BS as I entered, so I returned it. He then forced me to confirm it on another page.

    * Then, I got the following response:
    Testing Programme Information

Your request to add Oracle Certification Program has been forwarded to our Testing Programme team. If you provided a valid email address, we will notify you when your request has been processed. This typically occurs within one business day. You can also return to this site and check if Oracle Certification Program has been added to your list of Testing Programmes.

Thank you for your interest in Oracle Certification Program!

I will update the thread in the course of things...

    -Key points are:
    (0) If a recording is in progress with Pearson VIEW for the first time so don't forget your registration information.
    (1) ensure a has its former Prometric ID at hand (and never publish it on the web - or disclose to anyone).
    (2) there may be a delay by adding the test Oracle on its profile program; and we can't plan reviews until it ends.
-I couldn't imagine that there may be a delay with what happens in the next few weeks,

    (3) somehow I feel nervous about this if I have completed a review of Promteric, or had completed a Prometric Exam in the last days.
    (4) my Pearon VIEW and Prometric addresses match... This could help my cause.

Please note that this is progressing well so far... I'm really just share my viewpont experience

Published by: bigdelboy on 14-Sep-2009 08:21 - well, I left 3 hours and tried to tether at Pearson for Oracle and it said:
Before you continue, your account must be updated. Please go to add the test program to add the Oracle Certification program to your profile.

Which is the same info, I entered before so I did not need to be reintroduced to it. I'll try again some time later.

Action: Connect, forced change of the password
-password strength is monitored. good thing I have a forte in my rep stardard

    Concluding observations:

My first name, middle initial and name (for printing in the certificate) have been converted to lowercase, without the possibility to fix this. Personal profile page says I need to contact customer service to fix this. (LOL)

None of my history of test is transferred. The page says it's 'history of Pearson VIEW tests', so I don't know if that still counts.

It's a "first registration" moderately painless with a VIEW. Just took a little time and patience.

Certainly, it feels like screens and traffic were never really completely tested by someone outside the development environment - they 'work', but don't let the taste to have been done by a professional organization with expertise in web-oriented systems. I don't know which will happen in a future release.

    Well seen.

Certainly on amazon.co.uk there was a bunch of braindump kindle publications in February.  It was a link to a url in one of them and certguard.com said braindump site.  In general only unpublished reputable publishers on amazon... now here can be a risk people scan a few pages/PDF of the copyright and area to make a quick profit.

  • Looking for recommendations for the best books break the Oracle certification

    Aloha everyone.

I am interested in taking partner level Oracle SQL and PL/SQL certification exams. I have tried for 3 months to prepare for the exam.

Please suggest me the best books to crack the following exams:

(Exam 1): Oracle 12 c basic SQL Database (exam code: exam 1Z0-061)

    (Review 2): Oracle Database 11 G: program PL/SQL (exam code: exam 1Z0-144).

    Thanks in advance.

(Exam 1): Oracle 12 c basic SQL Database (exam code: exam 1Z0-061)

    (Review 2): Oracle Database 11 G: program PL/SQL (exam code: exam 1Z0-144).

I maintain a list of equipment, including third party books, for Oracle certifications exploded by review.  The links for these two examinations are:

Oracle Certification Preparation: Details of the review and preparation of 1Z0-061 resources

Oracle Certification Preparation: Details of the examination and preparation for 1Z0 - 144 resources

Regarding the recommendations, 1Z0-061 has an Oracle Press book developed for it. They are almost always a good choice. The only books written specifically for 1Z0-144 is the study guide that I wrote.  In addition, many people have stated in the past that they used the book of Oracle PL/SQL Programming of Steve Feuerstein.

  • Ask about Oracle certification for the Admin path

Hi I have the underside of certifications under my belt:-1. Oracle Certified Associate of PL/SQL Developer 2. Oracle PL/SQL Developer certified professional that I would give Oracle Database 11 g administration Associate certification. I see that I need to give exams 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-052 for. So my question is whther I need to give Z051 review? Keeping in mind, I traced level OCP, authorized as a PL/SQL Developer. Thanks in advance...

How can I get confirmation on this officially?

    See the FAQ:

    https://education.Oracle.com/pls/web_prod-PLQ-dad/db_pages.GetPage?page_id=82

Look for the "SQL Fundamentals".  One of the questions will be: "How long can I use an exam to earn a certification? "Exam results expire?"

The answer is: "do not expire the results of exams, but certifications are retiring, and that affects your older test results will help you to get certified or not. "

If a specific review meets a requirement in a current certification path, it does not matter if you have passed the exam. "For example, if you have taken SQL, # 1Z0-001 review in 1997, you can always use it meets the requirement of SQL for Oracle database current certification."

If you do not trust that - the moderator of the forum, Brandye, can come in a day or two to confirm what I said.  However, there is no doubt.  The question comes up fairly often.  In fact, I wrote a blog on this subject for more than a year (although this would not even "official", of course):

  • Hi I am new to Oracle forms and reports I want to know the differences between the Enter query mode and Normal mode?

Hi I am new to Oracle forms and reports I want to know the differences between the Enter query mode and Normal mode?

Welcome to Oracle Forms!  Out of curiosity, what do you mean by 'new '?  You are a student or new to an organization that uses Oracle Forms?  Or just play with Oracle Forms to learn something new?

Let me start by saying that many of your questions designtime can answer by searching in the help of the constructor of the form library.  It's accessible, like most of the other products in the Builder menu > help.

Regarding your question, ENTER QUERY mode, as the term implies, is when it is in a State where it is accept input for the execution of a query.  When in this mode, there are various restrictions.  Yet once, it will find more details in the Builder Help.  In this case, search help for these two subjects, "SYSTEM." MODE'and "built-ins comments that are not allowed in the input query Mode".  There are many other pages that contain information about the ENTER_QUERY method, but these two should help you get started.

Normal mode, as its name implies, is when it is in a State of 'normal '.  Basically to do nothing in particular, but also not in ENTER QUERY mode.  In this State, you can move the shape, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, documents, etc..

You will find additional information, as well as a lot of documentation on the product page of forms of OTN:

The people here are biased for JDeveloper and ADF. From my point of view, the chances are great!

Oracle has announced to do more or less everything with ADF. However, this will not mean that you as a developer of forms are without a chance.

  • How rate/knowledge so ready for the Oracle Certification

Hi, I am interested in an Oracle Certification exam (1Z0-144), but I'm not sure if I'm ready.

Any suggestions on how I could notice me if I am ready for the examination? I have (almost) no idea on what would be the review or what topics would be covered.

Are there sample examination questions that might similiarly appear in the review?

    appreciate your answers.

Oracle PL/SQL (and SQL) certifications are not really related to the output of the database as are the DBA certifications. The exam 1Z0-147 was developed during the version 9i, and the exam 1Z0-144 was developed during the release of 11 g.  However, a review wins the same certification credentials (i.e. you do not become a 'Oracle 11 g PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate'.  The reason is that SQL and PL/SQL undergo massive changes from one version to the other. However, they change slightly from one version to the other, and OU must periodically update information on trial so that it matches the available capacities.  I talk about this in the article below.  It is specific for reviews of databases SQL, but the basic concepts are the same for reviews of PL/SQL.

Preparation of Oracle Certification: Oracle SQL Fundamentals exams and database versions

Basically However - even if you are using oracle 10g, I recommend that you take 1Z0-144, because it's a review better than 1Z0 - 147.  I give my reasoning for it the following article:

  • New to Oracle, would like to know the authentication process

    Hello

I am new to Oracle. I would like to know how the operation of the authentication of the user if the database is closed and one instance runs?

    Naveen.

    Naveen,
Welcome to Oralce forums/community. If you're new to Oracle, the first thing to learn is to start reading the Oralce documentation which is an excellent and free resource for learning.
There are many methods of authentication that are supported by oracle. You can read all here,
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B19306_01/server.102/b14220/security.htm#sthref2682
At the point where the database is out of service and portion of memory dead it is to say the instance is there, no normal user and/or the dba user is allowed to log on. At that time, only the superuser, system is allowed to log on and it should start the database to other users to connect to it.
For the user Sys to connect, there may be two ways, you can be using operating system authentication which requires underlying to authenticate your log in. The other may be using file password that contains the password for the Sys user and is created using Orapwd util. using these two techniques, you can connect to oracle as user Sys while the instance is available.
    HTH
