Newsletter > fonts and printing problems

Hi guys,.

I'm designing a newsletter in InDesign. Then I exported to PDF and send it to a group of people. My questions are

(1) I use default font Adobe Garamond on my Mac for the text. I wish that the police be incorporated and power to anyone who open the pdf file to print with this font. Is this possible? If is not what are my options?

(2) is there a command or a script that would do the PDF to open at a certain size when viewing on the internet? Most of the people who will receive the PDF is either old (not very good view) and very little knowledge of the computer (maybe even do not know how to zoom). I would like to open in full page. The other option is to download the PDF file to

http://Issuu.com

Thanks for any help

See you soon,.

S

You can use the same set of pre (high quality print) then go the area of compression and set the pixels per inch for your images on a setting lower (I usually use around 91ppi)

  • Connection remote desktop and printing problems

    Hello

I use Windows 7 on my desktop and also connected to Windows Server 2008 R2 to run applications in Windows Server. However, I have noticed there is problem with printer problems. Sometimes, when I tried to print some documents with applications in Windows Server with my printer in my room, connected to the desktop computer, it won't work.

Besides, I need to go to Windows Server, restart the Printer Spooler Service component, so it does not yet. It is a pain.

I also noticed there is to wait about 30 seconds to process any document to print.

Unlike if I print documents directly from my local desktop computer that is running Windows 7 and is connected to a local printer, it takes seconds to print.

My office is connected to Windows Server 2008 via LAN. I wouldn't have such a significant delay in printing.

I also wonder why Printer Spooler needs to be restarted when the printer does not work.

Can someone advise me on this? Peut - what Microsoft looks at this problem and release updates to fix the bug to improve the system?

    Thank you

I bought about 9 months ago but hasn't much - especially from MS word, print but widely used for scanning. Some time ago I wanted to print pdf - then the war started. I have reinstalled drivers help several times, changed settings, but nothing.

I can print only MS office 2003, but another man (even test page) stucks just when printing - usually, I have a little (5-8) cm of printing. After a few printer minutes drop-outs (when the screen goes black - like when not in use) and the paper comes out, but on computer, I still status: print.

I updated XP & new drivers. Any ideas?

    Well... I noticed a strange thing :/

Change the print to RAW processor [FF auto] RAW istead (always hpzpp5mu) fixes the problem... But why?

    Hello

There are a few things going on here.

The simplest is the "print" key. See the help file for the eight parameters in the standard script. 2 parameter sets the start page (based on a system of numbering from zero); the third parameter defines the final page. If you look at the button "print" on page 2 it now looks like this:

    xfa.host.print(1, "1", "1", 0, 0, 0, 0, 0);

Now on page 2, the rows of the table were not particularly well referenced. There was a lot of Row2 [*]. This script referencing Roe7 did not work.

On each of the pages, I have set out the script for the first four buttons. You can follow the same steps as for the rest of the table and buttons.

In the script you were reference #subform, which did not exist. Make this specific to the particular page has worked:

    xfa.host.resetData("form1.Patienten.Table1.Row2");
    xfa.host.resetData("form1.Patienten.Table1.Row3");

I did only the first four rows.

    Good luck

  • HP 6830: HP 6830 printing problems

Initially, this printer has been used on a system with Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and it worked flawlessy. After the upgrade to Windows 10 However, he had a few intermittent printing problems. Known upgrades can cause problems I uninstalled/reinstalled and everything seemed ok. However, the same problem reappeared immediately.

Everything works ok for a bit then the printer stops working. Can not scan or print (from Panel of control printer itself or control office). The printer must be powered off/on power so that it can start working again.

Ran the program Scan HP that came with it and made sure to drivers are updated. The problem persists however. What can be done short of buying a new printer? Help, please.

EDIT - I forgot to mention it is configured to operate wireless and not via the USB port if it matters.

I wanted to give you an update...

I "think" the printer now works correctly? It has been a few days without question since I worked on it back which is longer it's gone in the past. I do not accept the solution again, however I want to give him a few more days to be sure. I thought it was fixed before and printing problems are back.

    Notes:

    1. I do not have the procedure described above SMTP uncheck ^ ^ ^ I didn't quite read the right steps when you work on it (it's actually the printer of a family member and not mine). I spaced on where he is told to do a right click on the printer icon and then click printer properties. I guess my mind went to some properties. I didn't know there was a printer properties to select. Printer properties is higher in the list of menu along that opens the right click (I have a HP printer too and he tried once I realized my mistake). I guess I'm so used to click the General properties, I just cleared the research of properties of the printer and thought that it meant click regular properties.

Because I clicked on the wrong properties option I could not find the ports tab (but I was able to find the IP address - it was OK) so I thought maybe gave me by mistake as follows to another printer or the version of windows. So I just moved to other options. If someone reads this thread to try to resolve the issues I've had to make sure and look up in the list for the printer properties and select is NOT as the ordinary properties which is at the bottom.

2 - the update suggested KB was already there and installed. However, it had been installed shortly after the 10 Windows upgrade which is when issues with printing suddenly appeared. So I uninstalled manually downloaded the update and reinstalled just in case it had been corrupted during the original automatic installation. This is a HUGE update and I have seen that people have screwed up in automatic updates in the past.

3 - I decided to uninstall all of the software and the printer and start over again once more. In doing so, I found a few HP entries that were dated before the previous uninstall/reinstall tent while they were not uninstall as they should have and I thought they had. This means that they have not been updated during reinstallation or the other. Made me think maybe one of them was somehow behind the questions?

I had to use 3rd party uninstalling and registry/hard drive cleaning to remove all traces of these couple like Windows Add/Remove Programs software wouldn't uninstall them at all, or if she did he left pieces everywhere.  One in particular (HP Solutions Framework Support) wouldn't uninstall period until what I downloaded from specific software allowing a forced uninstall. Took long to get everthing HP about the machine off.

Once I have finally managed to remove all traces of the old installation of HP and went forward with the reinstall using latest software/drivers on HP.com, I noticed the relocation took a little longer and I was asked to do more to lift the printer up and running. I think that some of these programs/registry entires which gave me such a hard to remove time were corrupt reinstalls previous that I tried when popped up printing problems after upgrading from Windows 10. Once they were gone went to reinstall it correctly. Or so it seems, it's just a guess.

Anyway, as said above ^ ^ ^ "seems" to have corrected the problems. I do not know about you until the printer is used for a few days. It is used a lot if it's not resolved, I'm sure I'll hear about it soon. After that earleir tries to fix the issues would already have surfaced long before now so I'm hopeful we finally have it.  I'll be back if everything goes well and will accept the solution OR post that it did not really work. Don't want to prematurely.

  • Fonts in linked pictures cause printing problems

This isn't a question I already solved this problem, I just wanted to save someone else the time.

Problem: Print job stops at halfway through document

    Error code: 49.4C02

Printer: HP online (3 different models)

Program used: InDesign CS6 creative cloud

I printed this task before and never had a problem. Then one day, after several textual changes, the PDF has stopped printing and send printers in a fatal error that caused their restart. I had no idea of what had happened and why. Everything I remembered to change it's text. It was printing on some printers, but none of the printers on my floor. At first I thought that the file was corrupted, so I re-recorded it. He re-recorded and re-recorded it. I recorded it with all types of export parameter. I even replaced vector illustrations with lousy jpeg images. However, does not. My boss is kind of an important guy for the Government, so when he started to get upset, we all started to scramble for a solution.

Research has suggested that we update the firmware that did not work.

I was wary of the potential problem fonts, but it confused me as they had printed before. I opened the PDF file and go to properties > Fonts and fonts of saw a Type 1. Do not know this, I Googled it and read a bajillion Web sites, still has not found the answer in removing.

Now, at this point, I had removed this whole family of fonts (Type > Search a font > replace), exported, always opens the PDF, here! WTF, really? InDesign can no longer find this font.

    Here is what happened.

Well, because in the new CS6, preflight check is no longer something you have to go manually, it works automatically similar to the dynamic spell check. My document had no errors, but I knew that it IS having some kind of error. I went to the preflight window (window > output > preflight), clicked on the tab menu and is gone «Defining profiles...» ». Well, well, well. Because the parameter "Default" implemented by Adobe has not actively 'Fonts Types unauthorized' selected, it was not contagious fonts of Type 1, which was originally a day of waste COMPUTER resources and my sanity.

I made a new profile, verified 'Types of fonts unauthorized', checked ALL the options of 'Type 1', registered and let it scan. What is c? 1 error! Hmmmm... He came from a linked .eps file! I open the file, I must have forgotten to outline the police over all changes. And I'm assuming that because only the police was connected via an element, that when InDesign went to export all policies, it does not access or didn't know what to do with the police who was in my .eps file, until he has done has been transformed INTO a Type 1 font (or as I learned (, a PostScript font) and she as well as all my other fonts embedded in the PDF file. That's why when I was trying to find this font earlier, he could not be found because it was not IN the document, it has been LINKED to the document. This policy on his own prints well, but it is converted to a PostScript font when he returns to a component in InDesign.

My office all did a victory dance, once we have solved the problem. Ridiculous. I hope now, so if someone ends up having the same problem, what I did, now they know where to look to find the problem! It would have saved everyone here some time if control upstream "basic" default was not so "Basic."

It's a pretty rare printer that does not support T1 fonts, I think. I suspect that you might not have the fonts embedded in the .eps file and were not put to download to the printer with the work (if they were still installed).

  • Mac Book Pro and HP Envy 110F wireless printing problems

I got my Mac book Pro for Christmas 2013 and initially had no problem printing wireless to my HP Envy 110F, but for some reason, I keep getting problems with printing to the envy of 110. We don't have printing problems with our Ipad for this printer.

I can connect the printer to my Mac book Pro by putting 192.168.1.72 IP address in a web browser, but I get on the symbol bit offline when I print the urge. Last night I reinstalled the printer to print wireless on my mac pro book using a printer cable, which then worked well, but today the same problem reappeared.

I'm starting to think that the problem may have started with the latest version of the update of the operating system to the Mavericks 10.9.4.

    All thoughts welcome.

    Hi @UKCheshire

Since you are able to print from the iPad to the wireless printer, I suspect you have to something. I think that the question has something to do with the communication between the printer and the computer and not between the printer and the router. Please use the following document to solve the problem; "Printer is off-line" Message appears on the computer and the printer does not print: Mac OS X.

If the problem persists, do not give up hope, let me know and we will work through it together.

  • Printing problems with XP and Lexmark-documents are just stuck in the print queue

Original title: printing problems with XP and Lexmark

Until yesterday, I was able to print OK using Windows XP and a Lexmark Printer series 3500-4500 with wireless capabilities.  Reported network test wireless (on printer) and report indicates that there are no reported problem, also did the diagnostic test and which shows no problem either.  I can't print and documents are just stuck in the print queue - please can someone help, it drives me crazy because it's probably a very simple solution.

I guess you do not have all of the error messages.

It is possible that comes to mind that your printer has received a new IP address of your router (this could easily happen if you have several computers and other devices that connect to your wireless network).

Find the IP address of the printer of his network diagnostic page.
Click Start > printers and faxes, right-click the printer and select Properties
Select the Ports tab, then click on the button "Configure Port" (be careful NOT to click anywhere in the list of ports)
Make sure that the IP address in 'Port settings' is identical to that shown on the diagnosis of your network printer page.

To avoid this problem in the future, you must configure the printer to have a static IP address.  See your printer User Guide for instructions.

Choose an appropriate subnet address (i.e., has the first 3 groups of numbers the same as the other addresses in your network) but who is not in the range of addresses assigned by the DHCP server on your router.  See the User Guide of your router for more details.

  • Printing problem with OE - 6 format since the upgrade to IE - 8: no space between the body and the subject line text.

My computer is configured with XP SP3 and IE - 8. I've been using Outlook Express 6.0 (update of MS according to needs). Messages are always printed correctly. Lately, however, the body of the message printed directly below the object without line - the space between them. This happens on my Brother laser printer and my HP inkjet printer. I have not changed my settings of the printer. I've recently updated to IE - 7 to IE - 8; However, I see nothing in the settings of IE - 8 to explain this change in print. I recently installed "MobileMe" Panel Apple configuration, which has installed a separate set of folders in the list of folders in OE - 6. I did a clean (with Revo Uninstaller) uninstalling the MobileMe Control Panel, removed the extra e-mail account/folders and rebooted. Yet the printing problem.

How to restore the space of line between the subject and the message body?

    Hello

    1. How is like print preview?
    2. don't you make changes to the footer settings?

    Method 1.
If that doesn't help you can not save the file wmp.dll
    a. log on as an administrator.
    b. Click Start, type cmd.exe in the Run dialog box right click on cmd.exe, click Run as administrator and then click on continue.
    c. at the command prompt, type regsvr32 oled32.dll and press enter and then click OK.

    Method 2.
If this problem started occurring recently, you can restore the computer to a previous state. You lose Internet Explorer 8 and return to Internet Explorer 7. In this way, we can check whether or not the root cause of the problem is installation of Internet Explorer 8.

  • Printing and ink problem

Hello. I have a HP LaserJet CM1312MFP series (which has included c.t.). It is connected to a Windows XP computer. However, since it is a network printer, anyone on the network can access it. The printer is had problems for some time now, and he treats the ink does not spread outside in the front tray, as well as other printing problems. Whenever I want to print, the first page it prints is a page of nonsense with alternating black and white lines parallel. After the first pages of one or two, it stops - and can return to normal after that. The ink was spread outside, on the front and the back, while change us the black and white cartridge when he asked us to. We hardly if ever printed in color, but for a long time, the cartridge color reversed into the machine, and if you want to open it, you can see the ink in the printer.

We were unable to solve this problem on our own, we decided to check out the forum for solutions.
