  Not only PSE13 an update can use the ACR 8.7 necessary plugin. (Version 8.7.1 is expected soon, but not necessary).

  you need support cr 8.7 or better.  for this you need ps cs6 or better.

  (or use the dng converter).

  I have Lightroom 3 and Photoshop 5.5 (I know, I know).  Last weekend, I bought the Nikon d750.  I can't open the RAW files in Lightroom or Photoshop.  I thought that I've updated the camera raw plugin is both (PS: 6.3.0.79, LR: 6.6) but I might be a little out of my League, technically speaking.  Help!  I don't want reallyyyyyyy upgrade this software yet!

  The D750 is much too recent for Lightroom 3, so there is no way to directly import the NEF files.

  You have 2 choices:

  1. Purchase Lightroom 6/Lightroom CC
  2. convert the NEF files to DNG using the FREE Adobe DNG Converter (8.7 or later), then import the DNG in Lightroom 3

  Hi, ATR, just for you say, my firewall etc is managed by software Norton anti-virus, the reason why I could not update was the firewall, entered the firewall of windows 8 and found a facility to allow applications through firewall he, Adobe was not one of them, so I just added 13 elements Adobe and hey presto it allowed me to do all the necessary updates , I now camera raw 8.7 update on 13 items.

  Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 with Camera Raw plugin 9.1.x installed but still can't open NAVE D750 files.

  Have you used the Nikon transfer software or view these files? On some devices it has corrupt files so PS can not open them.

  You need Camera Raw 8.7 or higher for the camera, so you have to CS6 or higher. You can use the free DNG Converter for CS5.

  I dropped a file .nef on a USB key and if I double-click on the application file Photo opens almost immediately and after a delay the display of the photo. In the office library, view of the key file is assigned the Photo icon.

  It's not fast, but it does not work.

  Photoshop requires at least version 8.4 of camera raw to be able to directly open these Nikon NEF D4S files which is available in Photoshop CS6 and above versions (not in CS5)

  You can upgrade to a higher version of Photoshop or download Adobe DNG converter to convert raw files to DNG and access these DNG files in Photoshop CS5.

  What is - this with Adobe?  Whenever I try to use their product I hit another road block.  First, she used LR and PS on a screen high resolution.  Then, I bought their monthly subscription and got several versions of PS, not knowing what is the most recent and correct to use version.  The latest version is CC in Photoshop or Photoshop CS5. Now I can't get Bridge CS5 to recognize my Nikon D300 raw files.  Adobe lost, it's the foot?   I am extremely frustrated with Adobe products, and apparently there are thousands, or even millions of other customers

  You must ensure that if the device is connected in PTP/MTP mode, you must change the USB mass storage mode.

  8.4 has not yet been finally published, but you can download and install a pre-release for CS6 and CC (it is not compatible with CS5 and earlier versions)

  This means generally that you do not have WRITE permission in the destination folder where you try to write files in the import step.

  Hey, I solved it with hints of another thread!  The poster spoke to add vs COPY at the top of the window.  Change that wasn't working, but led me to go on the "TO" (destination folder) area at the top right.  The file receiving pictures that was highlighted was the hard drive.  When I clicked on it there was a menu drop-down list other records, including the "Images".  I clicked on that and got "Lightroom" and then "2015".  I routed TO that, and it worked!
