    Version 5.0.0.178

So your Camera Raw is not up-to-date.

The Nikon D90 has been initially supported by Camera Raw 5.1

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Creative-Suite/KB/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

and CS4 is compatible with Camera Raw to version 5.7

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html

If help > updates in CS4 says again you are up-to-date, then try to manually install the Camera Raw 5.7

Devices supported by Adobe Camera Raw

First of all, the D90 was supported in Camera Raw 5.1.

Open Photoshop and click on Photoshop (Mac) or help (Win) > Plug-ins > Camera Raw to see what version you use.

Photoshop CS4 comes with Camera Raw 5.0.

Try to update Camera Raw in Photoshop to 5.7 via help > updates.

If this does not work, try to manually edit Camera Raw

  • Nikon D90 in CS3 - setting of the project?

I'm waiting on some HD delivery shot with a Nikon D90.

I have never created a CS3 HD project. It doesn't appaear to be other than HDV presets for HD not. Can someone advise on how I would go about setting up an HD project?

    Thank you!

If you have the latest updates for CS3 (which would be v3.2.0), you'll have the presets MXF P2 and XDCAM HD / EX presets. Check what version you are using, and if you're only on 3.0 or similar, run the update (help > updates).

You can create a custom project setting by selecting the general tab in the new project dialog box. There, under Edit Mode, you will find an option called "Desktop" which allows you to customize all the settings, including the size of the image, frame rate, NOMINAL, field order and so on. Build one that matches your footage and save it as a "Preset" so you can come back later. There are a few discussions here on the forums about the D90 images editing; many of them are on the change using CS4, but some are on CS3.

  • Can I use my AVI of Nikon D90 files in first Pro CC on my iMac?

Hello and thanks in advance to anyone who can lend me a helping hand. I am new to first Pro CC and Macs. I used my AVI of Nikon D90 files before with Premiere Elements on my PC no problem, but the same movies do not work on my new Setup with first Pro CC and an iMac.

I can see and hear the film clips in the Source window, but when I try to drag the sequence window I get a little hand with a sign of 'no '.

    I use a version 7.1.0 (141) CC PP and I am on OS X 10.9

Do I need to transcode the files? If Yes, what? And what is the best way to do it?

    Thanks much for any help!

My guess is that you have not yet a timeline in the sequence window. You can right-click on the item in the project Panel and create a sequence of the clip that will be exactly right for your support.

The fastest way to start is with a series of tutorials that take really very little time to complete.

It should get you passed to Premiere Pro quickly.

  • iMac does not recognize Nikon D90 in the Finder

In fact it is not a question just for this forum because I can import pictures from my D90 without any problem in LR on a new iMac. However, there are smart people who read this forum that I would ask anyway:

My D90 is not recognized by my iMac as a hard drive, although my little Olympus E420 is. Unlike other cameras, Nikon did not provide a "choice of export" (mass storage) as in previous models. It is important to me because the camera thus takes videos and I can't transfer from the camera to the movies folder (or iMovie, for example). I am sure that I can remove the SD card and copy the files in this way, but it is a pain and probably not good for the long term of camera.

Please don't jump on me for this but I have never experienced this problem using Windows. Any suggestions or is this the nature of the beast?

Thank you very much in advance-Andy

Unlike other cameras, Nikon did not provide a "choice of export" (mass storage) as in previous models.

That's the problem. Given that the unit will not work in mass storage mode, it will not mount in the Finder if there is no special driver available. If I understand correctly, Nikon provides a driver for windows, but not for Mac OS X, so you can't do it. As you met him, he will still normally work with Lightroom. Annoying that Nikon is no longer provides this essential option, because it will help enormously in a pinch, and when you need to update the firmware. I heard that the D700 has the same problem.

  • Nikon D90 Raw files.

    Hello.

I just got CS4. The problem I'm having now, is that it does not recognize the a D90 raw file. It will open my old raw files from a D80 and all TIFF and JPEG from the D90. I looked to see if there is an update available, but fails. Can anyone help please?

    Thank you very much.

    Select this option.

Update for Adobe Camera RAW 5.5.

Each new needs of the camera a new 'profile' that Camera RAW must know about, more precisely.

  • Nikon D90 3 video elements + first works at random

I have the first of 3 elements and just started trying to work with my D90 video. I have a problem as some of the video files AVI D90 to import and are very well, and others give an error that they are corrupt or the codec is not installed. All the files play in VLC and other players. Thus, they are not corrupt. Other sons talk about codec issues, but this doesn't seem to be the case here, as some AVI files will important a fine piece in first elements. It seems not to be a problem with size of file as will import some files of the same size and others don't and some larger files (65MO) will be, but won't some files of 5 MB. This includes the video tour on the same day. So, changed nothing on the encoding on the camera. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Jeff

  • New to CS6 in CS4 - issue of palette brushes

I like the default CS4 brushes palette vision clean and simple:

    brushes-palette-CS4.png

I never used to CS5, so maybe Adobe mucked with the palette forms before CS6. I'm sure some of you are raving about this new interface:

    brushes-palette-CS6.png

Can I get the default view of CS4 in CS6? I have to manually create each brush that has always been reset default size?  I like all the sizes of hard and soft brush in increments as CS4.

If you have used both, why you like this better than CS4 style? (I would like to think that it is an improvement, I can learn to appreciate a day)

Another question: The overview of brush selected in the large gray square - (above) - that covers my art - how to disable?

If you like your old default CS4 brushes and want them in CS6, try this.

    Open Photoshop CS4

Make sure that CS4 is set to the default brushes.

Since the icon pointing to the right in the CS4 brush Panel, select Manager of Preset

Preset Manager open, a brush to select, click on Cmd has to select all.

Click on 'Save Set' and name it default CS4 brushes. Save it to the desktop where you can see the file.

    Drag in Applications/Photoshop CS6/Presets/brushes

Then, you should be able to select and replace in the list under the devices menu.

  • Migration w/CS4 issues

Moved Mac 10.5 to 10.7.  CS4 won't shoot upward because of missing essential files.  Uninstall will not be run.  Can I uninstall from original CS4 disks or reinstall during the original installation.

    Thank you

    David

Yes, you will want to start by running the uninstall program located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.  After running uninstall it I also recommend the cleaning CS5 running tool.  Details on this tool found in the cleaning of CS5 for installation problems tool | CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.

Once you have uninstalled and run the cleanup tool you then want to reinstall CS4 from your installation media.

  • Photoshop is not ready D90 images

    Hello..

I'm a bit confused on this issue at this time and hoping that someone may already solved this problem. I shoot in raw, and for some reason, my photoshop CS4 can't read files from my Nikon D90. I tried to use Bridge CS4 download and convert to DNG and it says "convert to DNG failed." I use Adobe's DNG Converter I download on the site some time ago, but that adds, according to my shoot, anywhere between 5 and 45 minutes for my workflow... can some help or give me an idea where I can find the solution to this problem?

    Lisa

Well, I'm not too familiar with Nikon, so I'm not too sure when the D90 came out. Leave your post I guess it came out after CS4. Since you are able to use the DNG Converter, there should be an update for CS4 that is available on the Adobe web site.

  • D300s AVI Import problems (CS4)

I just bougth a new Nikon D300s digital SLR that has video capabilities. Videos are saved as motion JPEG (mJPEG) in AVI format. When I import video files in first Pro CS4, I see the images of a few first stills. Audio works perfectly.

I've heard a similar problem with Nikon D90, which uses the same format of video.

Did someone encountered the same problem? Is there a solution?

    Thank you!

    Thomas

Try Morgan or MainConcept codecs for MJPEGS.
