On the thing, I'm not understanding is why the camera can record 1080 p, but still the highest resolution of Media Converter to convert the files to is only 720 p?

It makes no sense at all. At the beginning and it off I'm disappointed that I can not just import directly from the camera into a video as Avid or Premiere Editor.
The video comes out of plain white. I have to use Media Converter, and then import them into the editing program which doubles just enough time for everything.

EEdit in 1080 unless you want to use the 720 for cropping.

  • A little help in the choice of the format and frequency of shoot picture.

I understand completely it after all these years but I did not. I'm not proud of this fact, but I admit it. I just bought the new Panasonic AG-DVX200 and love it. I've always shot in 720 p at 59.94 with my old camera and edited on a 59.94 chronology. Then exported using an Apple 720 p preset. So, with the new camera, I'm forced to film in 1080 p (which is fine) but must I change on a 720 p or 1080 p timeline timeline. And what of cadence. Should I shoot in 29.97 or 59.94? Yet once almost all my content goes on the web. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

    See you soon.

What type of content is it? For example: a lot of movement, like sports? A set of studio?

  • How to record in 720 p in Sony handycam xr150?

Hi, I have a Sony handycam xr150. I couldn't find the option to change the resolution in 720 p!

Hi shirohige4! Thank you for your message. The camcorder HDRXR150 records 720 p when the image quality is set to standard (STD). Follow the steps below to set your camcorder to record in standard definition (STD).

    1.

    • Go to [MENU] and select [show others].

    • Select [HD/STD SET] (under [SHOOTING SET] or category icon camcorder).

    2.

    • Select [QUALITY Standard].

    3.

    • Press [YES], and then select OK.

  • My iPhone video 5 any vertical shooting is HD

I thought that if you take a video with the iphone 5 vertical it's only video in SD again somehow I vertical video I took on my iphone 5 and I imported into Premiere Pro and its dimensions of 1920 X 1080. Here is the screenshot to prove it. http://i.imgur.com/FzlFCeY.png

What is really confusing if I got another video with my iphone in a vertical position and ranks only 480 x 720. What gives? Why are we video 1920 X 1080, but not a new video that I record the same way?

Your iPhone will be shoot in native mode 1920 x 1080 when held horizontally.

You held the phone vertically and it shot 1080 x 1920 (natively).

    It is no wonder here.

  • Crop 1280 x 720 for the delivery of 4:3 DVD?

My Panasonic camera shoots only 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720, and I use the latter. However, a 4:3 AR is actually better suited to what I record - deposits. And, unfortunately, the DVD-video is always the preferred delivery method. So, if I use the grid lines on my monitor of the camera to frame my shots for 4:3, how properly crop and export for DVD? Thank you!

I suggest editing in an order that correspond to your video clips (1280 x 720).

then use the crop tool in the 'source' tab in media encode left and right cultures

in order to fill the frame of 720 x 480 you export your dvd mpeg-2 support

  • reduction of 1920 x 1080 to 720 x 480

We have just had an interview of 2 canera shoot and didn't know that our second camera was running in standard definition, 720 x 480.  Became aware of the issue when I dragged the files in Adobe Premiere Elements 10 for the first time and WAA wanted to change the project settings for. DV NTSC 720 x 480.  So well, I can live with the editing of the interview in the size of the image. The problem is that when I introduce images 1920 x 1080 in the second camera in my project of 720 x 480 setting, the frame gets leterboxed and therefore does not correspond to images of the stabdard camera, which is not Letterbox. Any advice on the best way to handle this situation. Ultimately, we want just the consistency between the two video outputs.

Thank you all for your time and your insight.

    Thanks for the reply.

    As I wrote previously

If you have saved the NTSC Standard and use the NTSC DV Standard predefined project, then scaling of 1920 x 1080 in 720 x 480 look like what. If you try it, do it with default scale to the size of the image turned off so that you have more flexibility in the descaling operation.

As a concrete example. I'm doing a project with Premiere elements HD 16:9 project preset and exporting segments of the timeline of a video into a blog. This blog offers only a 4:3 Player. So, I decided to export my calendar segment 16:9 with a 4:3 export preset. The first segment was beautiful in the blog. But, when I did the same thing for another segment containing different effects, the effects were in all directions ranging from 16:9 timeline where they looked like great export of 4:3 where they screwed up.

I know what black stripes offer, and you get the whole image with the black border at the top and bottom.

What I was suggesting through scale, is to get rid of black borders at the expense of the part of content useless managers. At this point, I don't see another way, unless you can find a way to use the 1920 x 1080 as an image in image type in the 4:3 image.

Moreover, this scaling your way out of the situation is not new. We see mentioned for this sort of thing elsewhere online.

Please think. Please let me know if you need clarification on what the scale to get rid of black borders.

    Thank you.

  • Giant red shooter sequel - vhs capture - order of the tools

    Hi all

I have some VHS captures, I want to improve. I understand that the VHS is a limited format, I wanted to improve a bit using the tools of office of the shooter.

My question is: in what order should I apply snapshot HD, denoiser 2 and executives? My goal is to transform the content in 1080 p 24 per second images. Also, if anyone has the recommended settings, it is greatly appreciated.

I think that your purpose, 1080 p is too high. VHS is actually of about 240-280 vertical resolution. 720 same can be already very high.

Using SSuite 12.6.1 with that you still can not upwards which isn't here to start. You can somewhat limit the damage, but that's all.

I could start with now 4 K, with the setting of quality at 20 +, then the Denoiser 2 or, Alternatively, neat video and finally frames. You can skip frames altogether by exporting with the framerate even as your basic material, to minimize the loss of quality.

  • Optimum settings for the video shooting HD?

I just bought a Panasonic AG-AC160a camcorder with the update of the firmware to the 1080 p/59.97 format with MPEG-4 AVC/h.264 compression. Since it is an upgrade of my DV tape camcorder, I am confused and do not know what is the best video format to save in. I'm shooting youth hockey games and want to produce the best HD picture I can and with as few steps as possible in PP CS5. I shoot about 45 minutes of content and I want to keep everything on a support. Thanks for the tips on the best parameters of format.

Thank you. When I shoot my son games of hockey I interrupt the camcorder whenever the action stops. When I got home, I noticed that a new clip is formed at each break of the shoot (I am used to capture my footage of the entire tape - even with several starts and stops - in a clip directly from my old camcorder). Is there an easier way to get these several clips in my Panel of editing without having to physically drag each from the project Panel?

Also, what is the best way to copy/transfer files directly from the SDXC card to my computer for the files reside on the computer before their import and editing in PP?

Welcome to the wonderful world of HD. I used the 160 before and it's a nice camera. I've been shooting with a HMC150 since 3 years now and I think that squeeze us every bit of juice out of it. A good forum for users of Panasonic's DVXUser.com go there and find the 160 has category and they'll be really helpful with questions from the camera.

When it comes to HD footage on these cards, finally you will really like each time you stop the camera makes a new clip. That way if you've shot a lot of clips, you can choose which ones to import or transcode (to a different format if you wish) and saves disk space if you are transcoding your clips to another format (which can sometimes be easier on your system that modifying these files native AVCHD... which depends on your computer and how powerful he is). First, you'll want to copy the content of the WHOLE of the SDHC/SDXC card on your drive scratch (scratch disk simply means a separate hard drive where all of your images are stored. Do not change out of the card reader... copy EVERYTHING on your disk and use it. Again, you must copy the folder FULL of the small video files map structure. Then, you can use first media browser to import the clips you want. Just SHIFT-SELECT all the clips you want and right-click and import clips. If you want to drag multiple clips to your calendar, go ahead and shift + select all the clips you want and drag and drop on the timeline and they drop everything on in order. Photographing Hockey so I think we should turn on your shutter of your camera.  These cameras have sometimes "shutter stop" by default... If I remember correctly. It is easy to adjust. There is a shutter button at the top of the Panel where the farm of LCD and you'll want to have a shutter speed of at least double your pace. Normally double is acceptable. So if you're shooting at 60 fps, then press the shutter button and adjust to 1/120. When he says "Shutter" at 60 fps, which means that it is 1/60. It sounds good in my opinion, but for sports fast, you want not only blurred so I would make the shutter. If you shoot at 30 fps, and then set the shutter at least 1/60. Go too fast a shutter speed may begin to create a hyper-reel look similar to the opening Beach scene in Saving Private Ryan, that may not be what you want, that's why I say go double your pace to start.

In addition, if you are on tripod, you can deactivate the OIS (these images) If you have problems with this movement at all. We keep the OIS on most of the time, but every once in a while on a tripod, that must be off because when you do a lot of Pan (which will be the case, I guess in Hockey), then you might see these weird little shifts in the image with these cameras as catches up with the OIS. If your final product goes on the web then I suggest 720 p 60 or 1080 p 60 because computer screens are progressive. If you go right on a DVD, then you probably won't notice a huge difference with 1080 vs 720 on these cameras. It is in any case my experience. If you go to the Bluray, then maybe try 1080. The forum I mentioned above will help you with those camera of choice.

If you notice your computer bogged down editing these native AVCHD files, first put windows first of ' 1/2 resolution' instead of 'full '. Or you can transcode in a different format (for example. If you are on a mac, transcode to ProRes 422). Again, as I said before, it depends on the strength of your computer. Good luck!

  • Insertion of images of 1280 x 720, with stabilizer chain, sequence of 1920 x 1080?

I'm editing a short documentary using the premier CS6 and 1920 x 1080 images. I want to insert sequences aerial that is shooting at1280x720 and I used the warp stabilizer to reduce shake them. What is the best way to insert these images stabilized in the sequence of 1920 x 1080? Thank you.

    Stabilized sequence of 1280 x 720 in a 1920 x 1080 nesting works very well.

Create a 1280 x 720 clip sequence using the "new sequence of the clip.

apply warp to the clip stabilizer.

Drag the sequence in the project of sequence of 1920 x 1080 Panel. You can right click on the sequence and select "adapt to the size of the image" to fill the frame entirely.

  • Shoot Sport progressive vs interlaced

I shoot a lot of sports.  I like the look of progressive but have always shot in interlaced mode.  I have the Sony NX5u camcorder.  I was told recently to shoot in 720 p 60.  Comments or suggestions about the best settings for me?

    Thank you

720 p 60 is one of the most versatile of all formats, you can film in HD. It is particularly convenient for the strong movement of shooting as with most sports (with the exception of curling...)

If you have a camcorder 1080 p 60 (non interlaced 60 but progressive 60) then what harm says is true... cannot go directly to BD - R. However, you can do the following:

-Crop in a 720 p 60 sequence... This gives you the effect potentially increase the 'zoom' to your camera and you giving the panoramic room around the image.

-Reduce your sequence of sequences 1080 p 60 directly to 720 p 60 at the BD - r output with no cropping or anything else.

    -Scale your 1080 p 60 until 480i60 for the DVD release. (720 p 60 and 1080 p 60 two res downs for SD/DVD 60i very well for compatibility purposes)

Filming in 1080 p 24 (or 720p24, for that matter) isn't completely terrible ideas even for the sports of strong movement, as long as you do a good job to limit the movement of the periphery to the INSIDE of your video and your very remains in the same subject is the frame. Where 24 p collapses on things strong movement is usually caused by things like fast pans on a topic or inside objects.

On a lens with enough depth of field, the 24 p stutter effect is reduced even more (or almost imperceptible) when movement occurs in the periphery or the background of your photo. All you have to do is keep very focused and in the middle of your shot.

This point being, it of really MUCH easier to shoot high movement at a speed higher as 60 p or 60i, but in an interlaced format of shooting really can paint you into a corner when it comes to export your project to the web, a lower resolution format like DVD, stuff like that. Progressive translates between formats much more cleanly.

BOTTOM LINE: If you CAN shoot 1080 p 60, do it, but just know that you can not go to Blu - ray with her unless you downconvert to 720 p 60 at one point. Otherwise, shooting 720 p 60 is usually your best bet for high motion.
