If I can shoot in 1080, but I intend to download in 720, edit in 720?

My camera doesn't shoot in 720 p, so I shoot in 1080 p. I always download my long program of weekly time in 720 p. Should I use a 720 p timeline? If so, this should make the faster encoding, right?

Thank you.

Tom

UUnless get you I don't think it will make a difference in the export. However, the 720 offers the advantage of cropping.
