No access to a networked computer

Two computers, a Windows 7 Home Premium, a Windows 7 Pro laptop refurbished. Premium router of network standard, family comp is wired, pro is wireless. I can access the shared folder 'User' computer computing pro Home premium, but not the other way around. I have it by clicking on the network link in the sidebar file explorer, shows two computers, click on the pro and he asks user name and password, as I have, and it gives me access. I have try the reverse, to access the computer home premium from the pro computer, and it comes up with the error "\\(computer name) is not accessible." You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. (empty line) Logon failure: the user has not granted the type of logon required on this computer. »

Hello

You disable the password protected sharing ? If this isn't the case, please try to do that for two computers:

  1. At the bottom right of the screen, please right-click the network adapter.
  2. Select open network and sharing Center.
  3. In the left pane, click on change advanced sharing settings.
  4. Please activate the following:
    -Network discovery
    -File and printer sharing
-sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in public folders
  5. Disable password protected sharing.
  6. Save the changes.

Let us know how it goes.

Hello, I have a desktop PC and a laptop (DELL Inspiron N-4050).
I have problem with my internet connection cable which is working fine on my PC, but does not not on my laptop giving an error "no access to the network.

When I troubleshoot it says "your computer seems to be correctly configured but the device or resource (DNS SERVER) is not responding."
I said to many technicians of microsoft online response, but they could not solve my problem and said this is my DNS problem and advised me to contact my Internet service provider. Guess it's because of my internet so why it works on my PC not on laptop?

Yesterday, my ethernet cable pulled out my cell phone and I couldn't connect to the internet more. But on my desktop PC, it works perfectly fine. (I do not use wifi, if this information is also required) I have studied several threads with similar situations, and I have tried different methods to solve the problem to no avail. I did a system restore, but I'm having no luck. Also, I did not of the latest changes with my anti virus software and my LAN card drivers look to date.

When I remove my cable from the laptop and again connect my cable then it works but only after the PC sat for awhile.
1.I did flush DNS by typing "ipconfig/flushdns" in the command prompt.
    2. my IP address, DNS, subnet mask etc are set to automatic.

  • From Firefox blocks all access to the network

When I start Firefox (41.0.1), all access to the network is completely blocked. Before you start the FF, I can access the Internet (with Chrome or IE), other computers, but as soon as I launch Firefox, all access to the network (including the connection to other computers) is blocked. In addition, my computer will turn off more.

As far as I KNOW, I have not installed lately extensions or add-ins.

Thank you for your resolution. Today, when I mentioned to work, I was told to update Firefox. This seems to do the trick (so far, fingers crossed!).

(https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings) so very probably an extension is causing harm.

When this isn't ' t the resolution, I will surely return to your resolutions.

  • Received a warning to unidentified on the network computer. Under the status of the network looked up and saw a computer I don't know anything. What is - this and how?

Original title: computer not identified on the network

Received a warning to unidentified on the network computer. Under the status of the network looked up and saw a computer I know nothing on my network. What is - this and what that can do. ?

Implement the security of your network... How to do depends on details. If your network is at home on a wifi router, and then implement WPA2, which will prevent unauthorized as well as encryption of your data access.  Follow these steps on the router itself (once again the details depend on your situation.)

While I'd love to implement WPA2, WPA2 will not accept my network and I am limited to WPA.  My point is that if it is a wireless intrusion (we don't even know if it's wireless at this point), then the security settings on the router must first be discussed with the manufacturer ISP or router so that they are appropriate for devices and services and programs.

It could also be a USB transmitter attached to the computer.  It might be the malicious program or a problem with the firewall or a real hack of the computer through the firewall or caused by malicious software (even if you use cables or wireless).  It could be the entire network (but the number of computers which implies) or only this one computer.  It could also be a system service using the network and not really another computer in itself (in office what he says and where - some may be difficult to recognize and interpreted as another computer).  There are many possibilities.  We do not know what the warning generation program or what he says.  More information is needed.  I would also like to work on it - and it can follow to her new home.

  • I'm trying to access a wireless network with the password provided for me. I get the following error message

I'm trying to access a wireless network with the password provided for me. I get the following error message: "the network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 characters ascii or hexadecimal 10 or 26. "what does this error message mean and how do I address so that I can access the wireless network?

I use XP Professional with service pack 3. I get this error message every other time I try to log in to a protected wireless network security. I used to not get this message; but, now, it may be impossible, sometimes to call all wireless providers when I might only need for a short period or after hours service opening.

In addition, it is my computer that requires the network password to be different, not the provider of wireless. A password is given to me who works for other users, but my computer won't let me use it.

  • A network computer can see only some of the files on another computer in network

We have a network of working with 10 computers on this subject.  One of the computers has been replaced this week.  All computers run Windows 7.

The new computer can see other computers on the network and it can enter the public folders on these computers, but once it is in a folder, you may not see everything that is in the folder.  You can see subfolders and files of worksheet, but he can't see the other subfolders and other spreadsheet files.  The question is where we keep our customer quotes, so he has many years of activity in it and must be accessible to many people.  All other computers on the network can see everything that is in this issue of the quote, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the security settings on the folder of the quotation or the computer hosting it.

The new computer is the only one with office 2016.  It occurred to me that maybe the 2016 office cannot see files created with some older versions of Office (as stupid and irritating as this would be), but I still expect to see all of the subfolders.  I expect also the spreadsheet files to be included, even if they could not be opened.  But they are not yet listed.

We tried to restart both the computer and housing the bid documents.  Nothing has changed.

I have never seen it before.  I would have an idea what to look for if he saw not a computer full or could not access a folder on a network computer, but I can't find anything to explain why some of the subfolders and files in a folder accessible otherwise are invisible by a single computer in a network.

I would appreciate any suggestion or idea.

  • where can I find the security code to access my wireless network

    security key

where can I find the security code to access my wireless network.

    Hello

Check with the manufacturer of the router's support and most have forums and excellent documentation online.
You should be able to access the router to set a new SSID and password if necessary.

You must know the SSID (name of the router) and the password.

If you do not know these you can find in the running on the WiFi system now with this
free tool. This is not a crack, it should be run on a local computer that has access (or access)
to your router. Sure, the information will not be there if Windows was reinstalled or information
    has been deleted otherwise.

-FREE - WirelessKeyView recovers all the wireless network security keys/passwords (WEP/WPA) stored
in your computer by the service 'Wireless Zero Configuration' of Windows XP and by the 'autoconfiguration WLAN service.
service of Windows Vista. It allows you to easily save all keys to text/html/XML, or copy a single key to the
Clipboard. (Works on XP, Vista or Windows 7).

  • How can I block a unknown user to access my home network on windows 7?

I discovered an access device to my network which does not belong there. I can't access, so I can't really do anything to the extent of the see who it is. I thought it was just someone leeches off my wifi hotspot, but when I turned off wifi, they log. When I try to access this unknown, my computer tells me that, basically, the unit is not there. How can I put an end to unwanted access to my network guests? I think it would be not possible, given that the network requires a password to gain access. I did not the password to anyone except those authorized, and yet, here I have a device owned by a person named "Griff" connected to my network.

I have already been burned by leechers unauthorized hiding behind my IP and downloading illegal or pirated content. I don't want this headache yet. How can I stop this?

Here's my view of what has been published. Disabling the SSID broadcast will stop that casual leechers. #2 will not accomplish all that it's someone who connect to your network. #3 is a given... you need to change your password and #4 is probably your best choice, but I would like to change it, so that only the mac addresses you specify can connect to the network.

    I hope this helps.

  • Blue screen crash when using a folder on a network computer.

    Hello

When I use Windows Explorer (Vista 32 bit Home Premium) and navigate to a folder on a network computer. For example, \\Computer\folder. Then it restarts and windows crashes reported a problem etc.

It seems to be specific folders and is roughly 100% reproducible. I can't explain it, impossible to rename the files because they are not mine to change and it happens on my cell.

    Any thoughts?

    Hello

This very strange art. Have you installed all the updates and patches?

But this looks like a bad installation of Windows Vista.
If you reinstall the operating system, it can fix anything

You can browse the custom logs created in Vista reports and could send all error reports to Microsoft.

  • Just as a reference: how to FIX the annoying 'White Screen Of Death"with Silverlight and"Access denied"error with computer management.

Well, I just hope that someone who has met these two mistakes will find my dose. It might save a lot of pointless research on the net.

    SYMPTOMS:
-When you try to open a Silverlight application in your browser (Firefox, Chrome, IE, etc), your browser displays only a white area. When you right click on the white area, you can click on the Silverlight properties.
-If you try to start "Computer management" by clicking on the 'My Computer' icon and select 'Manage', you get the following error: 'access denied '.

    CAUSE:
The following errors are usually the result of a bad environment variable. In this case the "windir" environment variable does not work correctly. You can try running the management of the computer to start > run and entering:
    %windir%\system32\mmc.exe/s %windir%\system32\compmgmt.msc

Notice the between the characters of percentage windir environment variable. If you run the above code, you will probably get an error saying that MMC cannot open the file. Look closely at the path, it's back!
You will probably find any % somewhere.

What actually happened here is the variable windir made reference to another variable: systemroot
Why this creates problems, I'm not sure. Also, I don't understand what made then variable windir change.

    SOLUTION:
-From your desktop or Explorer: right-click on "My computer" and select "Properties".
-Click on the "Advanced" tab and then click "Environment Variables".

    http://pcauthorities.com/images/advanced-system-properties-XP.jpg

-Did the windir variable. Together to "C:\Windows" do not think that it is already set to "C:\Windows", because windows then tells you. Double-click it to know for sure.

    http://www.adminxp.com/windowsvista/envvariabl.PNG

-See, I told you! Change this to "C:\Windows".
