No accompanying metadata not share photos sent by e-mail.

I share pictures with other photographers for your technical questions and criticism.  For some reason, the metadata do not go with the file when I send it by e-mail.  Is it possible to fix this?

Hello rdfields,

Thanks for this info and choosing the communities Support from Apple. I know how important is able to share pictures in Photos for OS X is for you! Based on what you said, it seems that you may be having problems with sharing photos by mail directly from the Photos for OS X app. Because this process is not sharing the metadata you need, I suggest you export the images in a lossless, like TIFF or PNG format, because they work better. Then join these images to e-mail and test if the metadata have come through this way.

  • photos sent via e-mail receiver cannot open their discovers, his computer stops immediately, will not open?

I send photos that I take all the time through my email, I sent a few pictures of my sister and she said his computer is turned off and it would not even open the pictures. I had a virus in the past, it's a security thing, or maybe that I have sent too many pictures and his computer could not handle all the?

How is your sister receive emails and attachments? Webmail in Firefox? Alternatively, a like Thunderbird mail client?

What is the size of the file of these images? Maybe you could do the smaller picture of their performance through a graphic program like G.I.M.P.. No point sending an image that is 4 times the size of the screen.

I doubt if a virus (in the past) on your PC could affect his PC. I expect its webmail portal to track the virus before you let him see these images. And if it uses an e-mail on his PC client to collect his email, I would hope that his virus downloaded images before scans themselves in his e-mail client.

Overall, I think that the images you sent him are too big for his PC, or she has something wrong with his PC and needs to have it fixed. But I don't know how Firefox is involved, without knowing the situation of the customer email webmail vs.

    Counting on your support...

What you see in Photos (and other applications of the photo) is a miniature of the real image.

    Try this:

in Photos, select the photo you want to send an e-mail, and then CTL + click on it and select "show in Finder". In Finder CTL + click the picture and select SHARE, then send an email.

  • Photos sent via an iPhone arrive at the horizontal end and the spin button is inactive. How can I fix this?

Photos sent to iPhones to other receivers do not exhibit this problem.

Thank you. It works for me! Fortunately for the modules.

It must be something lacking in the cell phone OS that doesn't accommodate Windows apps. I could get it to rotate in Adobe Elements, but that is too much trouble to use to just rotate photos. . It doesn't make any difference whether the photographer orients the camera one way or the other, the image still displays horizontally on my desk top computer.

I'm surprised that others did not have this trouble. Thanks again.

  • How can I reset (not repair) Photos

    Hi all

I have multiple problems with Photos at the moment. I have about a library of 25,000 weighing 180 GB. It was originally and iPhoto library, then an Aperture library and now photos. He was until a few weeks ago the synchronization of photos of 25,000 to my iOS devices. However, now it syncs only 22'000. I tried, repair, removal of Cache and even import photos to a new library. Always on 22'000. I know that there are more pictures than that because I exported manually all at a very low quality jpg (takes too long otherwise) and I'm back to 25'000 again.

Among other things, in spite (painfully the jump) and delete the iPhoto 'album' events also still sync with my iOS devices, but they do not exist in my library of over?

Time to reset the * thing and start over. Anyone have any ideas?

Key points are: photos and their metadata (Inc., time capture, location and peripheral) must be kept. It would be a pity to lose key words and faces, but I can live with that.

Most of them are Raw files that have been published elsewhere were (the files are consolidated) but the exporting and importing countries will fall with this size library.

Can't wait to hear the responses! Thanks for your help!

    Sam

Here's a simple way to start over with a new library and import the original/master image files which have been imported into your current library. They keep all of the EXIF metadata located in the original files.  All other metadata, IPTC added photos, projects and other organizing efforts will be lost.  And you will lose with all the event represented by albums in the new library, as described in this thing of iPhoto: Moments in Photos are new events

Starting Over from scratch with a new library of Photos.

1 - Launch Photos with the hold Option key and create a new library.

2 - Open your old library with the Finder package as shown in this screenshot:

    3. Locate the master file in the old library and drag it on the Photos icon in the Dock.

This will create a new library with the same time as the original library, but will not include the metadata, albums, slideshows of books and other projects.

Note: your current library will be left for subsequent attempts a difficulty if you wish.

Once the completed import check to see if the new library all your photos and work correctly before you remove the old library, problem.

DISCLOSURE: Personally I am not a supporter of the iCloud library because it requires having to buy storage and is a bit slow to respond to printing and using files of origin in slide shows, books, etc.  I have also no need to have all 30,000 of my photos on my iPhone.  This is why I do not recommend to use it.  I also know I'm not the target audience for the iCPL - too old.

  • Impossible to share photos by E-mail

When I try to share a photo of Photos the only options I get is "iCloud shares", "Drop" and "Notes". When I click on 'More' I can see the options of "Mail" and "Messages" checked but 'grayed out' as is the option of release (even if it IS available on the 'Share' button!

So the question is: how to select some photos to send mail directly from Photos?

Apple Mail.app is set as your default mail software?  You can do this in the mail > Preferences > General. Then you should be able to share directly from Photos in the Mail.

You can see that the titles you have added, but other metadata are not available.  You will see the title when you double click on the photos to enlarge them.  And you will see the metadata when you click on the download button and download the pictures when you open the photo on your Mac in preview or Photos.

  • With Photos I can no longer share photos using Microsoft Outlook. Why?

Using iPhoto we went to the file and click on sharing. My photo/s would go to my Microsoft Outlook mail as an attachment. No problem.

With Photos vs, 1.2 apparently Mail is the only option to share photos. How can I share Microsoft Outlook?

To be able to share Outlook, it must provide an extension of application for sharing by mail. Apple Mail has such an extension, but the version of Outlook I have installed (version 15.13.4), does not provide a menu app extension share, and therefore it is not possible to use it for sending photos directly from Photos.  I don't know if the new version of Outlook includes an update to the app extensions.
