• Mouse don't work in Microsoft Word to select text, or highlight text to copy or add features like bold/italic/underlined.

  After you paste an e-mail message in a Microsoft Word document (which I do all the time), my mouse no longer works to click anywhere in the document and it doesn't allow me to use the side scroll bar.  I can still click on the tabs and controls to the top of the page buttons up and down and up, but I can't highlight text underlined/bold/italic to copy or move in the document.  I use these features all the time and I am very frustrated.  I can still do all of these things in other applications such as email, Facebook, Internet, but not in Word.  Help, please.  I already checked my mouse settings and drivers and they are all up to date without errors.  I restarted my computer; the only step I can think is reinstall Microsoft Office Professional 2007.  I appreciate any help you can provide.  Respectfully, Julie

  I can no longer highlight text when I compose an e-mail. I can highlight text in other programs (Word, etc.). When I say I'm being very specific - I can't, left-click the mouse and drag over the text to select.

  I have not downloaded programs. I did not any changes at all to the computer.

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  My problem is that I have can´t choose the text tool, click in an existing text box. I have can´t to highlight words or parts of text, which is any kind of editing is impossible. I already tried to install the latest version of Adobe Muse CC 2015.2 and checked the settings, which helps the didn t.

  Highlight and change the color of the text is not the same thing!

  Adobe Reader can highlight text using the highlight tool.  This cannot be a real text, not 'text' on a scanned image.

  To change the color of text you need Acrobat.

  Yes. To highlight text, it must be 'true' text, IE the text can be selected, not just an image.

  To convert an image in real text, you need to Acrobat or a subscription to the PDF package.

  You can use the square or other tools to markup design, to create a kind of point culminating on the desired text, though.

  It seems that it was a bug that was introduced in the last update. Others have been able to solve this problem using the Acrobat cleaning tool to uninstall and then reinstall Acrobat. You can try this if you have a few spare moments.

  My printer HP PhotoSmart 7525 with Acrobat limited venus function when using the mode SCAN and choosing SCAN AS .pdf. I am able to add sticky notes to a digital file, but when I try to HIGHLIGHT TEXT, I get the change in the shape of the cursor (like to start highlight), but by dragging over the text has no effect.

  HP provides a routine 'make PDF' in the software provided with the HP scanners. It's not Adobe Acrobat.

  PDF is an ISO Standard (since 2008). Any Software House can do routines that create PDF.

  Some are even worthy of their name.

  Anyway, in general HP also provides rock with the software provided with the HP scanners.

  Thus, use the HP routines to get an OCR PDF were.

  Then use Adobe Reader XI (which provides all of the comment and annotation of design tools) to highlight.

  You need OCR output because the Highlight tool MUST have real text - an image or a picture of the text do not cut.

  (The scanner output is always an image / picture of what was on the paper).
