Each computer or laptop I've owned kept his internet connection when it is entered in the mode 'sleep'.  When I woke up the computers I always had the internet always there.

When I bought my new Acer Veriton X4620G a year or two ago the first thing I noticed was that whenever I wake the computer from sleep mode after that I left it for a while, his internet connection would be gone.  This would force me to click on the internet icon in the taskbar to log in again.  This issue has continued to this day.

Can someone tell me how I can get my Acer Veriton to keep its connection to the internet when it starts in mode 'sleep'?  It's Aussie a nuisance having to click on the network icon and wait that he reconnect every time.  No cell phones my wife or my own laptop or any othe computer I've had that.

  • Internet connected during closing down?

I have a Dimension B110 and I use DSL to connect to the internet. I run programs antivirus updated weekly (with real-time activity monitoring) and I recently went from one called Comodo Firewall from Microsoft. My question is, is it possible for my computer to be connected to the internet, while it is stopped? I ask because recently I noticed the 'Ethernet' and 'Internet' lights flashing on my modem while the computer is turned off. I normally only noticed these lights when the computer was on and connected to the internet. Thanks for your help.

    Hi Ken once again,

I'm sorry, I'm always clear that this question can reanswer again? Is not wired and not the RJ-45 connection.

What type of internet connection they call when you connect to the internet using a * connection cable *?

I'll try again and hope that you understand this time.
You connect to the internet via a modem, * not * a cable of any kind.
The modem connects to the internet in several ways; both
the most common ways are by using an RJ-11 cable (it is a standard phone
cable and is used for dial-up or DSL) or a cable TELEVISION cable
(it's just like the one you use to connect your TV if
"you have cable). This internet connection as the modem
connects to is usually a wall outlet.

You must connect to your modem. If you are the only computer on
your site to connect to the internet, you can connect directly to the
    modem.
If you have two or more computers that connect to the internet, they
normally connect to a router and the modem is connected on the
router (but with some routers, the modem is built in it, so a
separate modem should not be connected). Normally, you connect to
the modem/router using an ethernet (RJ-45) cable.

Here is therefore a raw image of a default installation (the dotted lines are
    cables):

    Computer 1-------.
    \
    \---
Router - Modem - Internet (DSL, dial-up, cable TV)
    Computer 2-
Note that the lines (cables) on both computers to the router are
RJ-45, but they are generally * not * the internet connection and they
are not, which makes the internet more quickly or more slowly. The internet
connection is the last dotted on the right line. From
the Modem to DSL, dial-up, or TELEVISION outlet cable (usually a wall)
socket) is the internet connection, and is the type of cable, it is
any form of internet service you have (and what outlet
"you have to the internet connection).

  • No internet connection but wireless & modem work. Server DNS - RESOLVED error

Just in case someone else has this problem...

So this morning the home computer wouldn't connect to the internet.  He kept coming with an open internet page of cant and gave a DNS error as a solution.  However, the laptop can connect wireless and internet on which was fine - if it was just the computer at home.  So I called Telstra Bigpond and spent 2 hours trying to solve the problem.  We got things setting Lan, added IP addresses, did a lot of restarts, has done a modem reset, delete history of navigation, plugged the cables this and that.

The only thing after 2 hours was to do a Virus scan and then they'd call back as I had so-called spyware.  Fact that - nothing reported on McAfee.

So they called up and said you can take your computer to a technician or talk to the technicians telstra for a fee.  We refused dish but I connected to them to discuss.  The man of Telstra + support Premium said DNS problem is fixable for a fee of $99 and it would be remotely connect to my computer etc.  I refused because I said I know that this will not be an easy fix, and theres no way I can pay $99.  He said its not so easy, so it was to me.  I hung up.

PROBLEM SOLVED!  So going through paperwork I noticed another tech support number of telstra.  I thought that I'll call and see if it is the same incompetent people.  HOWEVER... on this line is a recorded message and he said if you are a McAfee product user and you have internet connection problems call the Mcafee line on 1800 998 887 and press 1.   I did it and Mcafee said: you need power your computer in safe mode (gives the instructions) and then download the MVP Virtual technician.  As soon as I did this and followed the simple procedure (less than 10 minutes everything including 2 starts) all is well again and computer is normal!

I'm outraged, so now I'm waiting for Telstra still to let them know how inadequate their service and communication has been!  I can't believe that it is a known issue (quite urgent for them to do a pre recorded message) but the technical team don't even know on this subject.

I hope that if anyone else has this problem they see this post and save a LOT OF TIME and money!

  • Internet connection sharing (6) error during installation of nintendo wifi connector

"sharing the internet connection (6) error" appears when I try to install a nintendo wi - fi connector (to connect between my wii and computer for netflix). I have high speed dial-up (canada), but apparently can use wi - fi connector to talk about the wii. with the first installation, it worked well enough to allow the wii. but the wii could not connect to netflix.
the first time I had hung it, I ended up uninstalling and now when I try to reinstall it, this error message appears.
When I got the wi - fi connector connected the first time, I did it with my antiviirus running program: the help site suggested to uninstall then reinstall the wifi band program. so this time (after you have uninstalled it), I disabled the antivirus, but now get the error message.
I have a call in nintendo, but fear that it is a problem of microsoft xp.

I don't have personal experience with this, but the title claims that it fixes your exact problem: Guide to fixing ' error (6) Internet connection sharing

Someone suggested that some Internet service providers log, but this has
never been my experience. If this is the case, it is not common.

In general, your internet connection is like a phone call. If someone
calls while you're on a phone call (or Internet), they get
a signal of occupation, but your telephone connection (or internet connection)
    remains.

Vista prem 64 houses a dell studio xps 435mt, methinks periodicly lose my internet connection.  This is is produced several times during a download of 200-song itunes where pops up a message saying download failed to expire my network connection.  I also noticed that I have initially no network connection when I use my computer after a period of inactivity.  the network in my tray icon will have a red x through it to a connection restored after that I "wake up" my computer with the mouse.  It's particularly frustrating during downloads large/long because they get sometimes completely removed.  my power management is set to 'performance' and my monitor is the only thing that stops after inactivity.  everything else is set to always run.

my computer is connected to a satellite modem (wild blue) through a linksys wrt54g wireless router.  the firmware on my router, as well as the driver for my network card ARE up-to-date.

I read on the network cards with power management options where you can uncheck a box to disable the ability of the computer to reduce power to the / network card.  When I go to the tab power management on the config of my network card, so I have not this box...

    someone knows what could happen?

  • API call to find out if there is an Internet connection?

Is there some API call in AIR or the libraries of the Playbook with which I can determine if there is a live internet connection? I would like to know when the user is on any of the Wifi / 3G / 4G (that is, any type of connectivity) so my application can try asking in the data row instead of using local cache.

    Thank you!

  • No internet connection AFTER startup, but only works during the boot.

    Hi all

Have a Win XP MCE (Media Center Edition) Dell laptop running.  I can only connect to internet when the system is even start, and I click on the shortcut to IE or Firefox. Once the system completes the startup it connects me to the internet WITHOUT problem & with good signal and good connection speeds.  System connect wirelessly through a Linksys router.

If I left the initialization of the system ended up - and I'm trying to connect to IE or Firefox - the hourglass appears for a minute and then disappears and I get no connection!

This means that I must always start the internet connection while system is always initialize, and if I end the connection I get only back to restart system in place and opening connection when appear the icons on the desktop for IE or Firefox!

I am puzzled by this and have no idea what to do to solve the problem!
    TNX a lot!

If you have an IP address manually, assigned to the printer:

    1. Enter IP address of the printer in the Web browser address bar and press ENTER.
    2. Go to the network tab and the IPv4 Configuration of the page.
    3. In the DNS server settings, the entry in your domain DNS servers or put IP of the router Address in the preferred DNS server and 0.0.0.0 or 8.8.8.8 in the section auxiliary DNS server and apply the changes.
