NO - IP DDNS WRT AC 1900 w

First time on this forum:

Recently upgraded router to WPT1900 and used Smartwifi.

Then install a couple of IP cameras - and went to no - IP.com to set DDNS

My concern now: when I enter the URL or IP address or off-LAN - I (and who else could enter the IP) is taken to the Linksysmartwifi logon.  I succumbed to find the right method to disable remote management-

proposals and guidance is appreciated - and if you have a recommendation on the DDNS, I also welcome.

Thank you

Rustyf

RESOLVED: Not sure how or why - went to no - IP.com / / deleted host / / created the new hostname, domain switched to no - IP.org / / Went to the field of cameras has changed and it started working.

I tried a re - reg handset, turn off (disconnected and removed batteries) on the base and the handset.

I wonder if I'm wasting my time.

Although I love the Linksys technical support products has ALWAYS disappointed me for 12 to 13 years that I have owned their products.

Well, my rants was a bit pointless, but after 3 hours. to understand what was going on, I had to evacuate.

With the tech support wants to help or even offer a web page that might help me a little without coughing up $29.

And then to say that there is no guarantee that they could help, is crazy!

Four things were observing the CIT 400 to work.

    1) cat 5 cable, I use 7 years seems to be insufficient for the link between the WRT AC 1900 and the CIT 400.

Even if the Contacts and the amounts updated. I replaced it with a 6th cat, now I can talk again.

    2) get Skype and Microsoft to link my accounts took forever.

    3) then waitng for days to get my phone number verified, both at Microsoft and Skpye.

    4) then to have to do the round and round to activate my ID display when you call cell phones and land lines, no kidding, I did several times for three days.

So in short, everything is as it should be, and works again as he's 7 years old.

  • Wireless router broadband 1000M

I intend to upgrade my broadband from 500 M to 1000M, but do not know if my router LINKSYS WRT AC 1900 can support (I think my hardware can do).  Can anyone help?  Thank you very much.

Hi, hom. The 5 GHz network and 4 Ethernet ports can handle up to 1 Gbit/s connection speed. For more details, please see this link.

  • RE6500 Setup\IP Address\Range Extender

I have a RE6500 used with a WRT AC 1900 as the router. The range is too far to reach the other floors and the pieces away from the House.

So the questions are: should I use a static IP address for the RE6500?

Should I Park the RE6500 and replace it with a Powerline Ethernet as the PLWK400 adapter?

Should I connect the RE6500 to a Powerline Ethernet adapter?

What I read on the Powerline Ethernet adapter, it is to be on the same circuit breaker. I guess that this circuit breaker is in the electric Panel. If I can't be on the same circuit breaker, and then abandon the idea.

Any other suggestion to reach the other side of the House?

You can use the RE6500 where it works better; with not too much or too little signal. I recommend giving it a static IP address so you can always connect.

Adapter PowerLine work at the level of the electrical panel, but may have problems between sub-panels. Of course, they work better on the same circuit. They work well with circuit breakers and the old or bad connection.

I recommend that you run a CAT5e cable (preferred) or by using the Powerline adapters. Then put an Access Point to the new location. I do not recommend combination unit PowerLine\Wireless bridge.

  • WRT 1900 ACS - Impossible to carry web traffic through openvpn

    2.3.11 OpenVPN windows 7 X 86. Router information

    Firmware version: 1.0.0.169041
    Serial number: 18E1060B503339

By default, OpenVPN only sends traffic over the VPN, which is intended for the VPN. Normal traffic to Web sites, for example, is not sent by the VPN. Which can be modified to send all traffic through the VPN?

    @alexdemon

Router WRT1900ACS is a SOHO router. It doesn't have a feature of access rule where the web traffic can be managed and regulated. The tool of Parental control of your Linksys Smart Wi - Fi account is designed for local customers only.

    Note:

OpenVPN can create the tunnel from the remote host to the main network and thus web traffic cannot be routed through the router firewall.

  • How to configure the router Linksys DD - WRT for WVC54GCA E4200

I don't know how to configure the router Linksys DD - WRT for WVC54GCA E4200. DD - WRT is very complcated. Help, please! Also, I used the TZO.com to the DDNS. Can I set up the DDNS for DD - WRT router? I used the DDNS to my old model router before. Thank you.

I followed the TZO supporter last night. I can watch my WVC54GCA outside. All solution links:

    Hi Majekho,

Your domain name has decided to 99.245.xx.x. If you go to www.test.tzo.com from the location of the host, you must see this IP address. If these numbers are the same, then all with TZO works correctly. I guess that it is a simple problem with ports (80, 1024) is not open in the router and forwarded to the right internal IP address of the device (for example. 192.168.1.xxx).

In addition, if you have a DSL, you will need to call your ISP and ask them to show you how to put your modem in "bridge mode". This will disable the firewall in the modem that blocks incoming connections even if you open ports in your router.
In addition, during the test, it is best to test on your device remotely, this is due to a common problem called loopback with most routers. For more information about looping, take a look at:

  • DDNS question

I have a Linksys E1000 wireless router and a Linksys home webcam which I often discover remote sites.   Because the ISP has changed the IP address once, I decided to sign up with dyndns.org and enable the DDNS service on the router in case it changes again.

My question is when and how many times the router updates the IP with dyndns.org?  Looking at my dyndns.org service log, the data is never updated, but of course the IP address has not changed.  So I am right to assume that information of dyndns.org is only updated when IP address changes?

I looked the site Web of Linksys and also the router help files information but have not found the answer.

    Thanks in advance.

Well, I posted my original message on Usenet group alt.wireless.internet and received the following response which seems to answer the question:

    http://dyn.com/support/abuse/>

Any update that affects the host name to a new IP address is considered
'good '. all other updates are considered useless and so 'excessive '.

This means that the router will only send updates when the
IP address change. I don't know how it works with the E1000, but in
DD - WRT, the current IP address is saved in NVRAM so that there
available between power cycles. The firmware checks every 2 hours
for a change. If the lease DHCP or PPPoE on the WAN port changes, it
also check a new IP address
address.  Only when there is a change, the fact
    the router sending and update
DYNDNS.  That's why you won't see any
latest updates on the State of the DYNDNS
page.  I just checked my and
some of my customers IP addresses have not been
    Update for many
    months.

  • WRT 1900AC slows down the flow of data with Brighthouse

I recently bought a WRT 1900 AC.  Synchronize straight up with my Brighthouse modem, but I noticed that the maximum data rate I can get through wired connections is 7.2 Mbps.  When Brighthouse is out focus on the system, they read 22 Mbit/s on the modem.

One reason why the router should be reduced my flow so much?

Excellent advice.  It's the correction that I needed

  • WRT 1900AC - 1st edition material last BIOS - backup on SLOW remote NAS!

I've recently updated my (EasUS ToDo Backup) backup software and had reconfigure a drive mapping to make it work.  My backups now run about 4 - 5 times slower (17 hours instead of 4) with the same material.  I can't believe, the problem is in the backup software, but maybe it's in the way I "mapped" the drive and it referenced in the backup program.  I was going to put a couple of my systems to Win10 before the end of the free period of "update", so I want good system backup and restore capabilities, and a 17 hour backups is a problem.

Win7 (x 64) on two computers at the present time.  One of them saved thanks to the new software very good speed, but the other took "forever" on the same wired LAN which is certified 1 Gbps.  I wanted to be able to change the NETBIOS name on the router so that I can include my IPV4 machines in a "working group" without a real host "server."  I note that working group I use WinXP, WinVista and Win7 to be able to do things simply in my LAN is NOT "WORKGROUP" and I suspect that a simple change in configuration of software for the backup program will solve my problem, namely not invokng a 'sharing' as the backup target, but instead use the 'Network' connection I have implemented directly targeting 192.168.1.1 instead the windows share name. (drive letter).

Is there a plan to let people change the 'media services' and name of working group on the router of the hard coded in the current BIOS?

@Fuzzy - TY for this review, but... The wiring that I use has a gigabit switch between ports on the router and the Linksys WRT-1900AC so there isn't that one ethernet connection actually connect the router to the cable modem and an ethernet connection between the router and the network that has been certified to 1 Gbit/s, when we installed it.  All Cat 6 cables.

According to me, the difference is in the network I have called inavertently when I configured the Windows backup software.  Since the post I checked how I got the software set up on another computer "faster" and found that the slow backup worked via a 'mapped drive"on the local host, and ran that fast on a 'network' drive that I had specified as //192.168.1.1 with the password 'admin' WRT-1900-AC to ensure that any user configured on the machine had right to the root of the drive.  "Bad habits have life hard."

  • On linksys WRT - 1900AC V2 Time machine

SE your know that Linksys WRT-1900ac can use the time machine function? another post said that can not use time machine to back up! Is it really?

    Thank you!

Yes, really. the linksys is a wifi router only, and has no hard disk attached. I guess that you can attach a hard drive somewhere (if possible) and put on with the Time machine backup, but this is neither here nor there.  For me, I bought a time capsule airport - very reliable and very easy to install and to use, does the job quietly and well. He also recommended to have a backup of some sort finally... just for security reasons

  • Upgrade satellite 1900-102, hard drive

Hello... My laptop is a toshiba satellite 1900-102 with a 20 GB hard drive. I would like to ask if I can upgrade the hard drive with another model and not the classic toshiba MK * 18GAP. Is it OK to use a hard drive from another provider? I want to use a Hitachi drive, which is less expensive, but it will be compatible?
    Thanks in advance!

Don't know anything about Hitachi, but what speaks against an exchange of hard drive?
The most important is the measures of the hard drive.

  • Result at last, 303 1900 Wi Fi card

I have recently been posting mail trying to find if I could install a Mini PCI for WiFi on my 303 1900. Some answers say yes others no. As my manual addendum showed a switch on the right side and a led on the front I contacted the Support from Toshiba, which gave me a part number and the phone (see previous email), I bought the card, the box included a manual and additional labels to stick on the bottom and the picture of how adapt etc.
The pc had a bug of some dscription who had deleted my network configuration, after a recovery of the system of the PC booted up and the card presented themselves and that the router is set up, I was connected to it and the Internet, the result is that if you have the little switch on the right instead of USB extra, you have the later model which is WiFi ready. Thanks to all those who advised me, please read my other mail

    Hi Russell

I am very happy that you can enjoy the WLAN now. My second book is Satellite 1900-703 (without a wireless network card), and now maybe I modernize unit too. I hope that the card does not cost a lot. :)

I wish you much fun with your Satellite!
