No KeyPress triggered if the mouse button is held on the control

Hi all

I am trying to catch the outfit/auto repeating keyboard inputs at the same time I'm clicking on a slide ring switch, to change the direction of the slide of entry as a Shift key.  (actually, I would like to use the SHIFT key, but apparently not raise events keypress at any time, so I resorted to letter keys).  I check for the KeyPress in the recall of Panel, it fires well if no mouse btns are in a hurry, or if they are pressed on indicator or decorations on the Panel.  But as soon as I click on any control with an active entry, all keypress events stop until the mouse button is up, then keypress starts shooting again, completely defeat the purpose of simultaneous inputs.  I put the test code in the callback of slide control, and it does not receive the keypress events or if the mouse button is pressed, if it does if it has focus, but the mouse button is up.

Any ideas?  I'm still using ver 6.0 if it makes a difference, try to get it to improve myself to 8.0 but try to do something on the old version, while I wait.

Ken

I didn't understand exactly what Ken was referring to. Let's try another approach: a reminder of command triggers a LEFT_CLICK or COMMIT event even it the SHIFT key is pressed, to Ken can intercept the desired event and then test the State of the keyboard, in this way:

If (event == EVENT_LEFT_CLICK) {}
GetGlobalMouseState (NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, &keys);)
If (keys & VAL_SHIFT_MODIFIER) {}
MessagePopup ('Event', "shift key is pressed.");

}

  • Middle mouse button opens the link in the TWO tabs

    Like many users, I started only problems with Firefox since the onslaught of updates began. For the most part, they disappeared with newer versions, or are minor annoyances.

    MY PROBLEM: When I use the middle button of the mouse to open a link, it now opens the link to the top in two separate tabs. This started after the upgrade to version 29 only and did not immediately (perhaps a few days). I just updated to 29.0.1, who did nothing with regard to the question of fixing.

    It is not the mouse, because I can open Chrome, find a link, use the middle mouse button and get only a tab.

    Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the replies. An update since then has actually fixed all the problems except one. Now I'm trying to get the downloads to open in a tab, but only an extension seems to fix this...

    How do I can't scroll with the scroll on my mouse button in some applications? Happen for example when I tried to scroll my Lotus Notes e-mail messages. I was not able to scroll using the button on my mouse! Very annoying!

    Hi X04p2n! I had the same problem! I was not able to scroll with the scroll thing (dunno what it's called) in note either. Just, I went on the site and downloaded the correct drivers for my mouse and it works since.

  • Updating of increment (ATTR_INCR_VALUE) a control digital while holding the mouse button

    Hallo,

    It is a problem with a digital command.

    I have a control that accepts a broad range of values: 0.01 to 60000.

    What I want to do is changing its incremental value according to the current range.

    So, if the value of the control is 2000.6000 to change it to 1000 stage, if it is less than 2000 but more than 200 - at the stage of 100 etc.

    The following code works if I change the value of the control with SIMPLE mouse clicks. But if I just press the left mouse button and hold it down, it does not work!

    Debugging of the shows, he correctly process events and passes to the attribute to (both) control. But change of ATTR_INCR_VALUE seems to have no influence until I release the mouse button.

    If (fTint<=0.2) dincvalue="">

    SetCtrlAttribute (hMainPanel, MAINP_INTTIME, ATTR_INCR_VALUE, dIncValue);
    break...

    Addition of events such as

    case EVENT_COMMIT:
    case EVENT_LEFT_CLICK:
    case EVENT_VAL_CHANGED:
    GetCtrlVal (hMainPanel, MAINP_INTTIME, &fTint);...)

    does not help.

    Swallowing of events after the setting of the attribute as

    SetCtrlAttribute (hMainPanel, MAINP_INTTIME, ATTR_INCR_VALUE, dIncValue);
    Return 1;

    does not help.

    Things like-

    ProcessDrawEvents();
    ProcessSystemEvents();

    does not help also.

    Any other suggestions? :/

    Is there a way we could take advantage of these additional mouse buttons when you change the code in LabVIEW?

    I think undo - redo perhaps, anyone knows how we can adjust LabVIEW or Windows?

    See you soon,.

    I have not fully committed to use it, but I think that X-Mouse button control can do what you want.

    https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/xmousebuttoncontrol.htm

    With her, I was able to implement a rule that when the 'LabVIEW.exe' application is active, to make the middle mouse button simulate pressing CTRL + space to open the quick menu.  The Middle click has not been used for anything anyway.  Also, I have set up my buttons previous and next to scroll left and right, but I do only rarely that I think I can try to do something else with it.  You can put up to a cancellation and again (as long as you make a key CTRL + SHIFT + Z for redo) If you think you might like that.

    Honestly, the hardest thing for me is to determine what I want these additional functions to do.  Undo redo is not bad but my left hand is on the keys to my house most of the time anyway, I sorta want it to do things that are normally more efforts.

    EDIT: A logic agree but not very hard to do now, is I mapped my back and forward for CTRL + wheel.  Does that mean it is when I'm in a case structure or structure of the event, by pressing back and moves forward to the previous case or in a structure of multiple cases.

    I'm trying to detect whether the mouse button is pressed. Now I managed to detect status of mouse using the Structure of the event, but my code inside the loop is then suspended. • Execute while the left mouse button is pressed

    Hi all.

    I'm a super newb to Labview, but not to programming (who for years, C++ etc...)

    I have a project that I'm trying to do that I hope someone can point me to some tutorials or something.

    The idea is that I want to be able to press the left button of the mouse and a dial start to turn.  It will then stop when I release the mouse button.  I intend to put a "indiator" randomly around the dial where the user must stop, but not until they start by pressing the button.

    Attached, this is my code so far.  Very basic for some experts like you guys, but it's my first try at Labview.

    Thank you.

    Greg

    Here is a 2011 version.  I have not opened to see if any functionality has been lost.

    Whenever I restart my computer I have to reset the default right back to my left hand favorite mouse buttons.  This has happened after that I upgraded my mouse driver.  Revert to a previous version did not remove the problem.

    Schoonerman salvation,

    · Who is the manufacturer of the mouse you are using?

    · Is there any type of installed software that came with the mouse?

    Sometimes software and windows will be conflict and this automatically resets the settings of Windows after restart.

    Do the steps below should allow you to keep all the settings in the SetPoint software at the same time to solve your problem.

    a. Click Start, type msconfig in the Run dialog box and press ENTER.

    b. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

    c. in the System Configuration dialog box, click the Startup tab

    d. look for all named KHALMNPR entries or similar and uncheck the box next to them (there may only be a)

    e. click OK and restart your computer

    f. after the restart, change the speed of your mouse pointer and reboot

  • How to safely clean the mouse buttons? (Acer Aspire V3)

    My mother spilled coffee on his laptop Aspire V3, and now the mouse buttons do not work.  The touchscreen always moves the cursor, but the buttons do not respond.  How can I fix/clean these buttons safely?

    Only by removing the entire unit, until you are able to see if there are still coffee in the notebook. You can be sure that everything is dry now. It was enough to break something, especially a bad sign.

  • The mouse buttons didn't * STAY * swapped

    I swapped my left and right mouse buttons by using the properties of the mouse. But the buttons don't * stay * exchanged. Literally between a click and they will return to normal. This can easily happen five or six times per hour. Operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit with SP2 installed.

    Try to set in the registry:

    Open Regedit and browse to HKCU-> Panel-> mouse and right-click on 'SwapMouseButtons', click on 'change... '. "and change the data value to 1.  Restart the computer

    You can back up your registry before proceeding.
