No media will not work. I re - configure Firefox several times and have spent hours reviewing here articles that are designed to fix this problem without success. Help!
I had this problem several times over the two or three weeks. I re-set, re-set and re - configure; checked all my plug-ins and extensions, checked I'm not on Proxy, checked my firewall, etc, etc, etc.
None of the articles I read have helped. I'm ready to throw the computer out the window.
No media will be load or play (including PDF) - although they all work on IE9.
Please help me. I need to use Firefox to keep my Web site.

Using IE in Compatibility Mode which is essentially like display in IE7? Try to disable Compatibility Mode to see if things improve.

MY system is Windows XP, SP3, computer laptop, running FF 9.0.1. When you try to update to FF 10.0.2 I received a msg that the McAfee ScriptScan 14.4.1 addon will not work with FF 10.0.2 and will be disabled. Will I go ahead and install the update for FF? Wouldn't be a risk to security anyway? What's the worst?

drop-down menus do not work. Need to click several times before drops down.
This happens mostly with www.linkedin.com.
The drop down menu works sometimes on the first mouse click; but often it is not, and I have to click several times until it opens the menu. Very aggravating.Many issues of the site can be caused by corrupted cookies or cache.

I tried a ton of help from older suggestions. I can't find a cure for this problem for Firefox 7. If I can't make it work, I have no choice but to use the hated IE.
I would like to remove the add-on downloadable in PDF format that is listed in your contact information. (It gets terrible reviews.) Then, it should be possible to install Adobe Reader as default PDF application in Firefox options. And maybe the Adobe PDF plugin will be able to work again.

I have not been able to access the optional updates, discover my reports of parental control, change my options to account for children or add a new user in the month. Whenever I boot, I get "Explorer of widows stopped working" then it restarts. Its driving me crazy! What can I do to fix this?

Try to restart in a clean boot to see if this error message is caused by a third-party program/startup process. To do this, follow the steps in this troubleshooting guide:
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" StateIf the restart in a clean boot prevents the problem to appear, take a look at the list of programs and services (do not forget to check her hide all Microsoft services box on the Services tab) tab of msconfig. Try disabling the programs and services to see if you can isolate what programs and services is causing this error message to occur.
