No mic input iMac

Hi, I have a late 2009 iMac and I can't find the mic input.

I heard that the new iMac have not all mic inputs is true.

If it is true, it's absolutely ridiculous. Apple do garage band don't they.

And no, I can't use the internal microphone, (I know that's what you thought). If I want to record high-quality audio I can't use the internal mic. I have a mixer that I need to plug the microphone on the microphone on the iMac.

Why is it so difficult to put a microphone in port on a computer that should be able to be used for recording audio.

It doesn't have a microphone inputs, use an external interface (USB)

Do I need an antenna with separate or is the sufficient mic input battery to provide power for the microphone?

    Hi ComposerEd,

You can connect an external microphone to your VIXIA HF R100.

Microphones must meet the following specifications: 3.5 mm stereo minijack-57 dBV (with microphone 600 ohms) / 5 kilohms or more.  Because this camcorder cannot provide "phantom power" for the microphone, a microphone 'active' (requiring an external power supply) must provide its own.

  • Mic input jack problems Inspiron 9300 - can not find a solution on the forum

Help, please. I use my laptop to give daily talks and now the microphone does not work.

Apparently, my mic input jack suddenly developed a problem - from one day to the next without warning. Is there a way to determine if it's hardware related. When you use Skype microphone is not available. When you run the test of the Control Panel, I get a few signals of green activity if I juggle the connector mic, partially from the Jack of the computer. If I plug the mic connector, as it has always worked and is supposed to be, there's no signal activity.

What is the alternative now check and/or repair?

    Thank you.

  • Inspiron 7000 point 8.1: how to mix the mic input with audio from YouTube (for DIY karaoke)

    Hello

I want to use my Inspiron 7000 (wIn 8.1) as DIY karaoke machine.  Maybe there's karaoke apps or software, but they are usually expensive and the choice of songs is limited while on the mountain, there are clips from karaoke practically for each song and I want to mix the audio with a microphone on my laptop.  How I can do and it is possible at all?  Is there another solution?  Is it possible to add a reverb effect to the microphone entry?

    Thanks for the ideas.

Hello. The recording of the sound Properties tab and right-click on your PC to open the context menu, and then click Properties.

In properties, select the listen check "listen to this device". That will make your input mic through your speakers set. If you get your comments, and then click the levels tab and turn down the mic gain.

You cannot add reverb on the side of the entrance. You can try to add it to the reading. Open the playback of the sound properties. Right click on the speaker to open the context menu and then properties. In properties, click the enhancements tab, and see what you have there. Below is a screenshot of an old computer with Realtek.

As you can see he has an accessory called 'Environment' with fanciful names for the different quantities & types of reverb. I don't know whether or not your Realtek driver has a similar improvement. If so, I don't know if it is applied to the mic 'listen' function. If it works it will apply to audio from youtube too.

If you can not reverberation through the configuration of the Realtek driver, then another solution would be to use a multitrack recording as the free Audacity program. You can save the audio from youtube on a track and your voice on another, and then use the effects of reverberation in the program on your voice.

This version of Realtek in the screenshot has a function called "voice cancellation". Its purpose is to try to eliminate the voice of a record so that any record can then be a karaoke. I tried it and it's impressive. On a recording where the voice is at the Center, he gets completely eliminated. If the voices are mixed in a different way then it does not. If you want to access the feature, but your version of Realtek does not have it, download the program Audacity - it has an effect like this. You can open a record in the program, and then apply the effect of karaoke recording to eliminate the voice if possible.

  • SX80 and automatic switching based on the mic input camera

Please can someone confirm that the SX80 is able to switch camera entries automatically based on the microphone the highest entry level?

That's what the "Audio input Microphone [1-8] VideoAssociation VideoInputSource: [1...» [5]"command is for, no?

Is there something else to make it work?

    Thank you.

Is the correct answer of Acevirgil. The other way outside the SpeakerTrack is with a control mixer and microphone of third party.

It is very difficult to do things, with the 'right', which means the following

    • The switch happens as soon as the conversation
    • Each switch takes exactly the same amount of time
    • Only concentrated no panoramic, not tilting, video non-zoom is sent to complete far or near end view
    • Logic manages several open mics or prevent it from happening
    • Should handle non-English periods gracefully with views of appropriate camera - i.e. without open mics
    • ignore the random noises, paper, phone, door open, outside the irrelevant sounds, etc...

There are about more than a dozen, but those are the most important. Out of all that I've seen on the soundtrack is by far the best of the OEM. It fails on some of the points above, but doing good things.

  • Latitude D510: mitigation of mic input signal

I try to analog audio input of an audio cassette player in my Latitude D510 microphone input (there no line), but the signal of the output of the cassette player is too strong. I use the program Audacity to treat the audio input. He has the ability to vary the power of the input signal, but not enough ability to reduce the strength of the received signal is usable.

I need to attenuate the signal of the audio cassette player _avant_ I have it enter the Latitude. Any suggestions?

  • MIC not working not not with voice recognition or Siri in texting

iPhone 6 - 9.2.1 firmware - the mic input does not provide a valid signal to Siri, or dictation in the Messages. It * is * work very well for the new application of musical note, which would indicate that the equipment is not broken.

In Siri or Messages, the erratic noise signal indicator shows, while in fact, there is no entry and do not change or respond when it * is * talk.

It still does not. Reset all settings, change 9.3.1 update... No..  Microphone only works in the voice and music notes. Does not work in the Siri, Messages or Google.  One thing to note is that it works with the Apple ear buds mic.   You would think that there must be a problem with the hardware with the microphone, but the microphone * fact * works in voice memos or notes of music... so that the theory does not take place.

  • 6.18 crashes on Mic selection

After the upgrade to 6.18 and without other changes Skype crashes at startup. After full uninstall and reinstall I reduced to the mic input.

After the failure of all Skype files and registry entries, it goes back to the default settings, which includes the assignment the micro line of the computer into the microphone (which does not exist since nothing is plugged). There is no crash with the selected one.

I put my my webcam video and audio output to my speakers and both are very good and do not cause crashing. But when I put the micro my webcam built in mic Skype crashes instantly.

  • Why can I not get no response from the audio input jack? have you tried 4 different microphones in Final Cut Pro

I have started working on FInal Cut Pro and have discovered that my audio Jack does not recognize any microphone that I plug.  I tried 4 different microphones up to now.   The input Attenuator is turned up 50% and beyond with no effect.   The entry just says "Audio" preferences pane: "Line input" with no other available device.  Am I missing something here?   He is 4 years old and this is the first time I tried audio input.

The line-in input on a Mac requires an entry amplified, not a single entry.

The headphone includes a contact mic. See:

  • MIC in hearing problems

Hey guys... I have problems using my microphone in adobe... I am running windows 7 64 bit with an AT3035 condenser mic and behringer eurorack ub1002 mixer... I have the mixer connected to my laptop by rca with the ends of the red/white cable and the other end plugged into my mic... outlet also have a realtek hd sound card

in any case, I had the asio4all driver and implemented in adobe audition 3.0 but when I went to record that it sounded like crap with a hissing/buzzing sound in the background... I discovered that the built in computer laptop microphone was recording so so I've muted, but then my capacitor microphone has not been picked up by Adobe

even when I turn off the portable microphone that he always recorded in adobe... it's weird

Anyone know if my laptop realtek microphone controls are actually for my condenser microphone? If not, then why adobe didn't pick up my capacitor microphone when realtek microphone controls are silent... If anyone knows what I mean, please answer lol

    Thanks in advance

I have not seen a laptop with a Line In for many years.  You can get out with the help of the mic input if you run the levels on your mixer really low, but it'll still sound like crap because the sound cards built-in on laptops are designed for applications like Skype and Windows Live chat, not any form of serious recording.

Your solution is to buy even a relatively cheap sound card USB to your laptop.  Even things like the Behringer UCA202 ultra base would be a major improvement, but something a little better as a cheap E-MU would be good enough for you will last a lifetime.

  • Siri on macbook with belkin express dock

When I use the thunderbold2 express hd on my macbook pro Siri dock will not work. He is unresponsive to the microphone. When the docking station is not connected SIRI will work.

    Hi aartfromdriebergen,

I understand that, as soon as you connect your MacBook Pro to your dock, Siri ceases to be able to hear. In this case, it seems that your input device may change (in system preferences > Sound > entry or in system preferences > Siri) when connecting to your dock.

To check, connect to your docking station and check to see which device is selected by opening the Apple menu > System Preferences, click sound, and then click Enter.
macOS Sierra: adjust the settings of your computer's audio input

    https://support.Apple.com/kb/PH25417

If you see one entry other than the built-in microphone, you can set Siri listen only through an input device. Yet once in system preferences click on Siri, then replace automatic microphone by internal mic input. This will keep Siri listens on the microphone if your dock offers an entry which is automatically tilting your device to input in the system preferences.

If Siri seems not to hear you talk, check your selection of micro in the Preferences of Siri.

    Use Siri on your Mac.

  • Acoustic bass on Satellite Pro L10

We have a laptop Toshiba SPL 10 and whose gain is completely turned on the mic line upwards and with the microphone boost activated at the level of the line is still very low. Is there anything that can be done with it. I've updated to the latest drivers and it made no difference.

    Hello!

Probably your microphone/cable/plug is damaged, try to replace. If it's a built-in microphone, whether a malfunction of the card his (MIC input). It can also be something wrong with the audio settings / sounds (take a look at the control panel).

    Good bye.

    Hello.

I have a P300 with Realtek internal sound card and drivers updated.
I NEED a stereo mixer in the recording devices, but I currently get only a MIC input, even after checking "Show offline and disabled devices."

Yes, I updated the drivers HD Audio of this site Web and Realtek and still nothing.
The only other thing that could affect this, but I don't see how I use ASIO4ALL drivers audio in conjunction with the Realtek drivers.

    Hi mate

I confused m do you know why?
Because you talk about audio driver Realtek and sound chip and my knowledge, that the Satellite Pro P300 was equipped with the audio chip Conexant!

It s NOT the Realtek chip! It s Conexant!

According my Conexant audio chip experience can't stand stereo mixer in the recording devices!
