No more program buttons on the taskbar

The buttons that normally appear in the taskbar whenever we open programs are gone. I tried several ways to recover it, but in vain.

Can anyone help please?

Hello

Maybe you have turned on the option in the taskbar and start menu properties:
"Hide inactive icons".

Check it out.

Windows Vista - How can I move the buttons in the taskbar to the left side of the taskbar? Someone has used my computer and now they are on the right side you can see 2 programs at once. I want that they start on the left and run through the whole (not just two value windows) task bar so I can see all and switch between them by clicking on them.

Right-click on the taskbar and unlock it. There will be low vertical bars between the sections of the taskbar. Place the cursor on one and drag it to the left. You have to play a little, but you will get it.

    Two points:

    1. you can rearrange the buttons in the order you want by simply dragging
    the where you want.

    2. If you pin a shortcut to the taskbar, it will stay in this
position (except if you drag it elsewhere). This is a very good

  • Start button on the taskbar, while opening with the mouse, but works using the touch screen does not

Windows icon on the taskbar does not bring up start page using the mouse, but will Touch. Clickable after the restart, but only for a couple of times?

    Hello

Please contact Microsoft Community. I understand that start button on the taskbar does not not at the opening with the mouse, it works but when touch use. I've surely you will help solve this problem.

To better understand the issue, I would need more information on your side.

    1. The problem occurs when you use another mouse?
    2. What is the number and the model of the computer and the mouse?
    3. Did you the latest changes on the computer before this problem?

This problem might have occurred because of these reasons:

    1. Missing updates of Windows and the device driver updates.
    2. Conflict between third-party applications.
    3. Corrupt system files.

Try the steps listed here and see if it helps:

    Method 1:

If the problem does not occur when you use another mouse, I suggest you to download and install all Windows Update available including optional updates. You can also install the last mouse driver\Software from mouse manufacturer website and check if it helps.

    Method 2:
If the problem occurs when you use a different mouse, I suggest to start the computer using safe mode and check if the problem occurs or not. If this isn't the case, I suggest you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

    Step 1:
Start the computer in Mode safe. At the start of the computer Mode safe with the minimum set of drivers and files.

Start settings for Windows (including safe mode)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode

    Step 2:
If the issue happen not in Mode without failure, perform a clean boot and check. Setting the system in a clean boot state will help you determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

Note: After the clean boot troubleshooting steps, see the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 3:

If the problem persists, I suggest you perform the Scan SFC (System File Checker) and check if it helps. SFC scan will search the system files corrupted on the computer and replace them.

Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7 system files

  • (Programmatically?) how to change the name of the button on the taskbar for an executable

    Hello

I use LabVIEW 2010SP1. I noticed that the name of an executable task bar button is always its file name (for example if I set "abc.exe" as filename target in the category information properties of the application, the name of the corresponding button from the taskbar is 'abc'.) Is it possible to change the name of bar button tasks (programmatically, by setting a property of application or by adding an entry in the 'abc.ini')?

  • How to restore captions for the buttons in the taskbar?

All of a sudden my Vista Ultimate x 64 taskbar buttons are tiny and have no subtitle.  I find nothing in the preferences/options of the bar of tasks or anywhere online that addresses this problem.  How can I get the legends back on my buttons on the taskbar?

I found an answer to this, but find again this issue is a problem.  The link "click to go to the wire" did not work in the window of hotmail, microsoft answers did not show me a link for questions, that I had asked and research of the question did not.

Now.  No, I meant that the icons are there, but the legends thereon are missing.  There is no way that I could find to fix this without going into the registry.  There is a key to register HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics.  A subkey MinWidth was added here.  I deleted the subkey and my legends back.

And to answer your question about the changes.  Yes, there was a.  I downloaded PC Tools Registry Mechanic and 'optimized' my system.  Usually, tools such as analyzing, ask, and then optimize.  This "Optimization" took place without my express permission, and it does not backup before it changed things and did not offer a plea for annulment.  I have to find what other things he 'optimized' for me.  Found another today when all of a sudden my scanner has failed.   Turned out (after much research) one of the services he neede had been disabled (not changed in manual, DISABLED).  Needless to say, I deleted the tool.

what I did before the buttons on the taskbar show only icons is as follows:

    Start > run > regedit > HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics

There, you must find the one "REG_SZ" with the name "MinWidth".

    (write without quotes)

If you do not create one in your won with the name "MinWidth".

Once you find it double click on it and set the number 56 then click ok and close.

  • Do NOT combine the buttons on the taskbar

How do you set Adobe Reader to NOT combine the taskbar buttons? My preference of windows 7 is already set to never combine the taskbar buttons tasks (right click on the bar of tasks/properties setting). My buttons were separated before 2015 was last updated (and the modification of the provision), but now they are combined. How do you define this back to show them separately?

Wow and staff also. In fact, it is, but thanks for the attempt.

I searched around and found that the setting is under the menu drop-down change, preferences, General category. Uncheck the option for "open documents as tabs in the same window (requires restart)". This allows Adobe to behave by the parameter of the windows taskbar and will separate each record under its own button in the taskbar.

  • Start button fills the taskbar

I have the screen task bar on the side of me, and the Start button is stretched downwards to cover the whole thing, it looks like a green sign instead of the taskbar. My computer has been infected by a malware called "malware protector" immediately before what has arrived, and at startup I now get a message saying

    "Error loading c:\windows\inilicakenakohod.dll".

The specified module could not be found. »

I suspect this is related to the malwear when I Googled it this morning and follow-up of the results of the search, I was immediately infected again.

I tried to adjust the options in the start menu with the size of the icons, layout style, and nothing has changed. I had a few massages in saying that all programs could not fit on the screen.

I tried to restore the system, but he tells me that he cannot restore as nothng has changed

I am running a fully updated version (as of May 30, 2011) of Windows XP. I was running Kaspersky Internet Security, but after having been infected with the malware and it is undable to help, I swapped for CA antivirus and Malwarebytes Anti Malware

The problem is not present when I boot in safe mode

Follow these instructions, and fix any remaining problems.

I think you should do the MBAM and SAS scans (referenced in the background) first, then to clean the remnants of the infection.  I had read all this completely through but so you will understand what's going on... then fix it.

It is sometimes easy to get rid of the error message by doing something like disable the startup item in msconfig (if you can still find), but I suggest you fix the problem and difficulty not only the symptom of the problem by simply deleting the startup message.
I would also not recommend you start digging in the registry to try to find the startup item and remove it unless you have a backup of your system or at least a backup of your registry, because there is no 'Cancel' or 'quit without saving changes' option in regedit.  If you make a mistake, that's all.
These ideas relieve 'rapid' and sometimes risky of the symptom if they not even work at all, but they can't actually solve the problem.  Also, I'd be suspicious of ideas that begin with the words "try."  You don't need to try things, you need to fix things.  You don't need to try ideas that might work, you must do something that will always work all the time.
Here are the detailed instructions that protect you and solve your problem in the 'right' way.
There is very little. DLL files that should be loaded from the C:\WINDOWS folder and is not one of them.  If you can't find a good explanation for the name of the file in a Google search, re chances while your system is currently or has been infected with malicious software.
A "Cannot find...". ', ' Failed to start..., "Could not load..." ». "Might not work... "" Cannot run ""error loading... ". "or"specific module could not be found"message at startup is usually related to the malware that has been configured to run at startup, but the referenced file has been removed after a malware scan, leaving behind him a startup item or the registry entry pointing to a file that does not exist.
It might be a removal of malicious software or an application not installed.  The entry may have a curious looking name since it was probably generated at random when the malware was installed. If you search your system for the referenced file, you may not find.
Windows attempts to load this file but cannot locate because the file has been deleted for most probably during an analysis of the malware. However, an orphaned associate of remainders of startup parameter or registry entry and tells Windows to load the file when you start or connection.
So you should delete the referenced entry Windows stop trying to load or run the file. It may or may not be included in the registry, but you can find it.  Autoruns (see below) you get the elements no matter where it is.

You must be sure to solve the problem and not just fix the symptom of the problem by simply relieving your message - system is not a fix (there is a difference).

If you just locate and uncheck the item in msconfig, which disables the element but does not remove the reference to the element of false starting your computer.   The msconfig program is not a Startup Manager, that's a troubleshooting tool.  Disabling things in msconfig to put an end to the messages and think that your problem is solved is short-sighted and leave behind him a sloppy XP configuration.  Just disable the display of a start-up error message should not count as a 'solution' to the problem.
If you are comfortable editing the registry, you can find and remove the reference directly from there or remove it using a popular third-party tool called Autoruns.  The problem can always be found in the registry well.
Before making any changes to your registry by hand or with third-party tools, don't forget to first make a backup of the registry
. There is no cancellation or exit without saving the option in regedit.
Here is a link to a popular registry backup tool:
You can also use the Autoruns to find the element of start remains little matter where he's hiding.  Autoruns does not install anything on your computer.  It will display all startup locations where the reference may be then you can turn it off or remove it completely.  Here is the download link for Autoruns:
Run Autoruns.exe and wait that he at the end of the filling of the list of entries.
When the Autoruns is finished scanning your system, it will say "Ready" in the lower left corner.  Autoruns can be a little intimidating to first if you have never seen it before because it displays a lot of information.  You are really interested only a few sections.
The problem is usually to start the system or the user startup entries, then click the connection tab and see if the startup item is there.
Scroll through the list and look for a boot entry associated files in the error message.
If you can't find on the connection tab, look in any tab.
You can also click file, search to search for logon, or any tab for all or part of the name of the element.
Right-click on the offending entry and choose Remove.  If you are not sure what it is, you can simply disable, restart and if the problem is resolved and then remove the offending entry.  If you don't see it in Autoruns, you may edit the registry and remove the item from your startup folder it.  Autoruns shall display the same information however.
Given that you had or have an infection, followed with this:
Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The new button show desktop can not be moved.

You can still use the old button display the style Office and place it next to the Start button. The best way to implement this is to restore the old Quick Launch toolbar.
