  • No option to change the password for Gmail/Yahoo mail

Updated for Sierra and want to change your Gmail and Yahoo mail password, but the interface has changed and I don't see any option for their setting in preferences/Server Mail or Internet accounts settings.

    What is going on?

Open Keychain Access and find the entries for these accounts. Either, remove them will cause Mail to ask you for the password or change the entry to provide the new password.

To change, double-click the entry, and then click the show password check box. Enter your user account password (or password in Keychain so you changed it).

The Web site may use autocomplete = off to prevent Firefox to record the name and the password.

You can remove autocomplete = off with a bookmarklet to register the name and the password of Firefox.

  • I changed my password of gmail e-mail. How can I change the password used by Thunderbird to connect to gmail.

I changed the password used to access my gmail account. Thunderbird still uses the old password to access the account. How can I change the password that is using Thunderbird. The last time this happened I ended up creating a new account to Thunderbird for gmail. Create the new Thunderbird account at least let me enter the new password. I don't really want to have three accounts of Thunderbird for the same gmail account.

Please do not respond with suggestions on using password manager. I do not use it and do not want to start. I looked, and none of my Thunderbird passwords are displayed here. All I want to do is change the password in Thunderbird. If Thunderbird does not have a feature that allows you to change passwords, should be added.

The link posted by Christ1 gives WRONG directions. In Thunderbird 24.4.0, is:
Tools, Options, security, passwords, saved passwords

Admittedly, in fact, you want that he SHOWS you the passwords, and then you can delete them.
Once fact you check for mail, it will tell you, it didn't, and then you have the option to enter a new password.
MUCH too complicated. Time to put the password and the ability to change, in the e-mail account options.

  • Cannot change the password on disk external HARD Gigastore

All G´Day. Hope someone can help me and I don't have to format this drive...

Had recently changed the password disk and curiosity entry "not enough space", as hitting the SPACEBAR once, as the new pw. Repeated, agreed and worked.

However, now I can't access the drive more. Hit 'space' at the pw prompt will still have the blocked path.

All old/new password to enter the space just tried. Nothing. The drive was my nearby since so nobody else would not change it in the meantime.

Got some important data backed up and we hope that me to play around with this option will not end to erase everything.

Each suggestion and help is very appreciated.

  • Change the password on external hard drive

    Hi all

on my iMac 21.5 ", I recently updated my Mac HD internal to El Capitan 10.11.  There are now several major programs (for example MPEG Streamclip and Photoshop elements 11) which worked fine under Yosemite, but are not compatible with El Capitan.

On an external hard drive, I installed Yosemite 10.10.2 in late 2014 when it was the last version of OS X.  Only, I installed a system on the usual external drive boot on the internal HD failure.  All of these programs (also installed on the external hard drive) work very well in Yosemite.

When I start on the hard disc to access these programs, I had problems when I need to make changes for which the system requires a user and a password.  I don't remember what they were.  Is it possible to change the password (given that I can identify the user name in the "Users" folder), please?

    Best regards, paulranger1.

Please open the Startup disk preferences window and select the volume on the external hard disk. You must change this selection on the internal drive after the reset of the password.

Start in recovery mode. When OS X Utilities window, select

    Utilities ▹ Terminal

in the menu bar at the top of the screen, not one of the items in the OS X Utilities window.

In the window that opens, type this:

    resetp

Press the tab key. The partial order you entered will automatically end this:

    resetpassword

Press return. Opens a window to reset the password. Close the Terminal window to get him out of the way.

Select the boot volume ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name) if not already selected. You won't be able to do this if FileVault is turned on.

Select your username in the menu option allows you to select the account if not already selected.

Follow the prompts to reset the password. It is safer to choose a password that includes only the characters a - z, A - Z and 0-9.

    Select

    ▹ Restart 

    in the menu bar.

You should now be able to login with the new password, but will reset the keychain (empty). If you have forgotten the password for the keychain (which is normally the same as the password for the connection), there is no way to recover it.

  • where can I change the password for free wifi on Acer 10th switch

I use a public wifi who changes his password every month. I connected it with my Acer Switch 10 E for the first time last month (a week ago) and I was asked for the password. Now, it's a new month and I am not prompted for the password and I can't find a place to change the stored password. I can still access my own wifi and wifi to work who have correct stored passwords.

I tried to select options wifi and it allows not sharing and sharing. When I'm in the range of wifi and run diagnostics it either tells me that the computer cannot detect the network hardware - that can't be true because I can connect at home - or the wifi connection is set to manual, which is not the issue because if it is set to manual or automatic He asks me the password.

If I select the show the network connections and the State in the internetb Control Panel, I see the wifi connection but it doesn't have a name, when I right click on the wifi connection, it does not give me a Connections tab where I could change the password. If I select Change card options it is the same story. Other people around me are connected so I know that's not the router. If I try to add a new connection it tells me it cannot detect network hardware.

I should be able to make the details screen connection display and change the password, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone help?

Thanks for the suggestion, but again, this access to the security for any unconnected network tab is precisely what I was not able to do. The problem is: when not connected, no wifi connection appear in the list of wifi-State; only an icon for the device software. If I right click on that window opebned upward has shown me the properties of the driver etc., not on the network. He had no security, and no properties 'Wireless' don't link.  10 Windows, you need to get separately to the networks are not connected. Now, I found the item "manage known networks." It was much further down the page than I expected from images that I had seen, that showed above the element change adapter settings. Then I was able to forget the network and he asked me for a password. Just deselect "automatically connect" does not ask me the password. Connect automatically seems to be defined as a sort of default.

    Thanks anyway.

  • Computer locked out, says incorrect password, has not changed the password.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Ideas: computer locked out, says incorrect password, haven't changed the password.

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

These things don't happen by themselves. Once you're in the system, do a thorough analysis of the malware.

    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

You can change your password to something that you remember another administrative user account. If you had only an administrative user account and you have forgotten the password, all is not lost. You can then follow the general recommendations for implementing user accounts in Vista that I will give you at the end of this post.

All this requires a certain level of computer skills. You know better and that take the machine to a competent local computer tech (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad place) is the best solution for you.

If you have an installation of Vista DVD (not a recovery DVDs), you can start the system with it. Select the default language, then select "repair your computer". Then select "Command Prompt". At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes [press Enter]
NET user [insert here the name of your user account] [insert the new password of user as 1234 here] [press Enter]

[Note: do not enter the brackets!]

Remove the installation DVD and restart the computer. Now, you will be able to connect to your user account by using the password that you set; for example, 1234.

If you do not have a Vista installation DVD (only have a recovery disk), the computer mftr. may have given you the option to repair Vista (not a system recovery!) system in the diagnostic menu. This menu of diagnosis is the same one where you can choose Safe Mode. Get to this menu by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. If you do not have this option, you can make a bootable Vista file repair DVD in this link:

    http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

Note: All the Neosmart recovery disk downloads are torrent files. There is a good explanation of the torrent on the site Web of Neosmart files. You will need a torrent as muTorrent client to get the files. Torrent client will download the .iso file with which to create the bootable DVD. You will need to use third-party burning software such as Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com ) to burn the image .iso image file, not in the form of data.

Once you have fixed things, log on to the additional administrative account you will be made by the suggestions below and disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

    Exit the command prompt.

General recommendations for creating users in Vista:

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is a multi-user system with integrated system of accounts as default Administrator and comments. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult.  It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but there may be more that you want to do. Better not to put you in a bad situation at first.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. As a user Standard is recommended for security reasons and will help protect your computer against infections. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

  • I can not connect on my user profile who is also the administrator. I get a message that the password is incorrect, however I have not changed the password. s not now what it was

I can't connect to my user profile who is also the administrator.  I get a message that the password is incorrect, however I have not changed the password. My 11 year old niece used the pc last (play online games) and I was informed that it was a download/installation, but do not now what it was. I can't download or update any information on the pc that this requires the admin password. I am currently using the guest account, that does not give me access to all programs and the pc is running a little slower than ususal. Your help with this questions is appreciated.

the operating system is Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit.

    Hello

If your niece has changed the password, or you have a corrupted system, this Information Microsoft will help you.

Here are the different circumstances where it can help you.

You will need to borrow a Microsoft DVD from a friend, Recovery DVD a manufacturer without these special work options available.

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
    • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

And as you say that your niece may have downloaded something, that something could have been malicious, that can cause problems with password.

Download, updatre and scan your system with Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

And here's how to go in Safe Mode options; Select safe mode with networking from the list of options:

  • How to change the password at END?

    Hello

Can someone provide me with info on how a guest user can change his own password where NGS (NAC comments Server) is the Radius Server?

It would also be useful to know if the admins or sponsor may change this password too, thoug my guess is it is not possible.

I have already set up the password for clients policy to allow them to change the password. I just do not realize how it can be done.

    Thank you!

    CORRECTION:

While poking around just now, I found an explanation for how Allow / change password options requires actually used:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/NAC/guestserver/configuration_guide/20/g_hotspots.html#wpxref88934

It seems that this can be used if the END is hosting the portal web connection.

Unfortunately, the dreaded RTFM response is almost mandatory, IMHO, to 12 c.

Pavan quote seems to come from this doc/link

    http://docs.Oracle.com/database/121/DBSEG/users.htm#DBSEG573

I would like to add quotes from two paragraphs who closely follow one who is already planned:

All provided by Oracle administrative user accounts such as SYS and SYSTEM , are common users can navigate across the CBD. Current users may have different privileges in different PDB files. For example, the common user SYSTEM can switch between the PDB files and use the privileges granted to SYSTEM in the current PDB.

    . . .

If you plug a PDB file that contains a current in a CBD user, then the following actions take place:

    • Common user in this PDB accounts lose usually granted privileges they may have, including the SET CONTAINER privilege.
    • If the CBD target has a common user with the same name as a current user in a PDB file newly plugged in, then the new common user is merged with the common user CBD target. The password of the current of the CBD target user is a priority.

See that last sentence? As others and the MDC say, a common user is COMMON. Standard users SYS and SYSTEM are common users simply need a password.

  • Change the password on a host

    Hello

I just added a new host for my vCenter and it had the default password. I noticed a warning icon, and I don't see anywhere on vCenter to allow me to change the password. I know that sounds obvious, but surely vCenter will allow me to change the password on a host - have I missed an obvious option in the menu somewhere or I have to delete the host to vCenter and Add again once I changed it from the console?

You cannot change passwords for ESX for vCenter. You must open a session to the ESX directly using the vSphere Client and change. All users passwords can be changed when the host is connected to the vCenetr without problem - just the vpxuser is not editable (the vCenter user uses to connect to the ESX host and have a random password that is stored on the database of vCenter).
