No popup to close FireFox

Since I updated to FF 5.0 and now FF 6.0 yesterday, I get yet the pop up notice/warming "you are about to close several tabs you want?" I've had this setting for a few years now, I think. Probably because it was offered.

I looked at this article on the help of FF:

http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/Firefox%20does%20not%20ask%20To%20save%20tabs%20and%20Windows%20on%20exit

I don't want to restore any session. I want to just pop up notice asking "Are you sure you want to close all these tabs?

I found an article and did the following (one is already set to True, but the second has been set to False and therefore changed)
Enter about: config in the address bar and press to enter.
Click on I'll be careful, I promise you
Enter browser.warnOnQuit in the filter field at the top
Double-click on (toggle) on it to change the value Boolean true.
Now, enter browser.showQuitWarning in the filter field
Double-click it to change for real
Now restart Firefox

Still no popup when I stopped with several tabs don't open.

Oh yes, sorry I forgot that when you use Firefox safe and close the window by clicking on the 'X' button, it won't ask confirmation of your...

I can't close the Firefox already running. I CAN'T function anywhere. I uninstalled Firefox, but of course, it's always somewhere in my computer. How can I get its closure to reinstalling Firefox, can I?

You must locate the profiles.ini file and delete this file or use the Profile Manager to create a new profile.

    See:

This problem may be caused by a problem with the profiles.ini file or with the permissions (owner) of the concerned files.

You can use one of them to retrieve an existing profile or create a new default profile for Firefox:

    • Remove the profiles.ini file to make Firefox create a new profile (default)
    • Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
If you have an existing profile, then click on "Choose a folder" in the Profile Manager and navigate to the location of a profile lost to recover this profile
      https://support.Mozilla.org/KB/managing+profiles

You should find the file profiles.ini in this hidden place:

    • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
      * C:\Users\ < user > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\
    • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox /.
    • Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/

If the file profiles.ini compensation does not work then also check the location of the cache files.

    • Windows: * C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.
    • Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/
    • Linux:~/.cache/Mozilla/Firefox/

You can also try to rename/delete the MozillaFirefox folder in the two above mentioned places (main, cache).

I'm updating Adobe. It tells me to close Firefox. I click on the Red 'X' in the upper right and it is not closed. I right click on the Firefox icon in the taskbar, and there is no Shut Down option. What should I do?

Try to use the exit from the menu. Either:

I don't know that Firefox can or removes it Flash "local storage objects", which is the kind of storage of the data of the Flash Player asks questions on. There is an add-on for this, so I suspect that this is not automatic:

  • When I close Firefox my computer says it is still ongoing and I have to restart my computer to get Firefox to run... This is a first for me.

Every time I close Firefox and try restarting my computer leaves a message that I have Firefox running and that it does not and must be closed. The problem is that it is not a Firefox always running, therefore, it is impossible to close and therefore impossible to open it. I used all forms of Firefox and this is the first time that this has happened. Please, please don't force me to use Chrome or iExplorer!

Use "Firefox > output" (Windows: Firefox/file > quit;) Mac: Firefox > quit Firefox. Linux: Firefox/file > exit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing by clicking on the X close in the title bar of Firefox.

You can check if it is useful when you can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the shift/Options key.

  • Flash player 16.0.0.296 says now but will not fully updated unless firefox is closed, but when I close firefox that he says again that he needs updated. Why?

my plugin update checker has been working well, so I know this isn't the problem. the problem is that when I update my flash player id stops at 95% or 96% and will remain like that until I close firefox and when I close firefox it then finishes update, but then what fierfox reopens it says he has again updated. I've never had this problem before so why now?

Here is a screenshot and see the screenshot just copy and past this link http://i.imgur.com/MafjKdn.png

Hello courtney-jane16, the result of the plugin check page unforunatley is correct, there was yet another vulnerability discovered in adobe flash player 16.0.0.296 who is already exploited in the wild.
    See the Security Advisory: https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsa15-02.html

There is no difficulty because it published by adobe again and the button to update the plugin check site lead nowhere at the moment - so it's best to put the flash shockwave ask to activate plugin in firefox addons > plugins Panel!

  • What is the difference between the cookies keep until I close firefox and the history of cookie empty closing firefox?

In the settings of Firefox 33.0 (I use Ubuntu 14.04, but the functionality is the same for Windows 7) there are two ways to delete cookies when firefox closes. Or at least, there seems to be.

Is first the cookies keep until firefox is closed

Second is to check the box for clear history of firefox closing and in the settings check cookies.

What is the difference between these two options?

I usually have two configuration but I noticed that a connection was not save for td canada trust EasyWeb, even though I have an exception set for it. Now I unchecked to remove cookies by disabling the history on close and connection records correctly.

This connection allows to save 7 cookes under easyweb.td.com and 10 cookies under td.com and I have exceptions defined for both. If I clear the history when closing and include cookies, half of the td.com cookies disappeared when I close firefox and re - open. The same is true if I'm not the exception.

So currently I can't find a way to keep all cookies if I clear the cookie history when firefox closes. What is the difference with this option?

When you change the default cookie 'to life' of "keep until: they expire" to "keep until the: I close Firefox", Firefox changes all persistent cookies that sites set session cookies. To allow a site to place a persistent cookie, you need to make an exception (site permission).

When you turn on the story to stop compensation and include cookies, running a completely separate process that doesn't doesn't pay attention to the duration of cookie or exceptions (permissions site). There just nukes all.

Note that some cookies could survive if they are encoded in the history file of your session of compensation at the stop, a Firefox uses to restore your tabs and windows from last session. I have not tested.

  • How to close last tab SuperStart actually open rather then close Firefox?

Is there a way to make Firefox (or SuperStart) will close NO Firefox when the last tab is closed? I would have preferred so he can act as the opera it would make the page tabs SuperStart appear instead. In this way, I choose to close Firefox by actually closing Firefox (for example clcking the Red "x" in the corner of Firefox, etc.).

Just because I don't want the last open tab does NOT mean I want to close my browser.

As a result of this behavior today, when I reopen it Firefox I find myself with that last tab is showing once again, which of course, I don't want either one.

Could you try this and see if it gives the effect that you want? When you close the last tab in the window, Firefox displays the "new tab" page.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste the tabs and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab to change its value from true to false.

Press Ctrl + n to open a new tab, press Ctrl + w to close the useful tab?

I used Chrome to get on the web, downloaded the latest Nightly and tried to open it. Same thing happened. How do I return every night?

A particular reason that you use the Nightly version (sometimes unstable) , rather than a stable version of Firefox?

Every night is not intended to be 'used', but rather for users help the developers of Mozilla by each new generation of 'testing' and then to report any bug or 'glitches' they can find. Every night is between 12 and 18 weeks of the release of a new version of Firefox - phase Alpha 1, which is 6 weeks.

When I close Firefox, windows that were open when I closed Firefox are still open, when I click on a link to open a new window. I cleared my history and cookies and even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but that did not work. I had this problem since upgrading to version 29. This isn't the only problem I have had with version 29. Anyone else had problems with version 29?

I ended up going in the settings to erase history and define it for clear history when Firefox closes and you select to erase history and kitchen and browsing history, the closing of Firefox. Now the links work very well and the last page I was watching until I closed Firefox is gone when it opens again. Problem solved!

  • Close firefox in 1 single workspace when firefox is opened in mutiple workspaces.

When I use firefox in mutiple workspaces on my Xfce/Unbuntu desktop if I close firefox in a workspace it closes it in all areas of work. How can I avoid this.

After reading your last post, I decided to look and check out all the options to close the Firefox Windows. I found that if I close the window remains last on a workspace by the 'X' button in the right-hand side of the title bar of Firefox it closes Firefox in all workspaces. However, I found that if I close the window remains last on a workspace by using the small icon of Firefox on the menu on the left side of the window taking place & click close in this menu it does not close Firefox in all areas of work in the space of a work place. (It may help that I put in place of the separate virtual desktop on one office. Then, I opened Firefox in each workspace & clicked "Desktop 1" only then "Desktop 2" only and etc. This seems to have solved the problem for now.
