    Hello!

    Recently * Toshiba Tempro * suggested I upgrade the bios driver sound (Conexant) and a few other drivers for my Vista. I did and then I noticed that the volume of 'material' control - * volume wheel *-did not work. Still, I have the right volume level control by clicking on the 'volume' icon, but turning the steering wheel left to right and does not affect the volume level. I tried all the options in the Control Panel, but there is simply * no. OPTION for a wheel *.

    I thought it broke. BUT: there was a miracle - if the * registry editor * (regedt32.exe) open the wheel _works_ perectly! But if I close it (or even if I click on another window or minimize regedt32) everything is bad - volume stops at the last level, "recalled" my Vista (I have tested hearing music in the background).

    That's why I think that:
    1. the wheel is working and sending its changes but Vista (or a pilot of its new) does not recognize
    2. when the Registry Editor opens these changes are "up-to-date" - so the wheel seems to work. But when the registry editor is not active there is no mechanism for this "update".

    I have the latest drivers for my Satellite U400-138 today (28 January 2009)

    Hello

    I think that you need to reinstall just the PPV again.
    The value contains some applications that control Toshiba media, keys FN and also the Volume indicator buttons.

    First, you must remove the old system VAP.
    Then clean the registry using a tool like CCleaner, for example.

    Then after restarting new install the VAP and reboot the laptop.

  • The HT820 ear and lower volume stuck button

    I had these headphones for almost 2 years works very well. I don't have a bluetooth phone, but I use my HT820 with my HP Ipaq 211 listening to music or watching movies. I also connected them to my work and the home pc. At work I connected them to the phone Nortel 1150. I just had a few problems since I got to the two atria are beginning to tear. I had them in my backpack and I don't know how, but one ear cushion came off the coast. So I'm wondering where I could get replacement tips? The other problem I have is with the low volume on the left hand button. The button is stuck, but I can live with that, because it is just the right volume level. If I don't find any guesswork replacement I can buy another pair and I can leave the old one at work since I can use it with the 1150 of Nortel. Thank you

    As for the volume key. This aspect will likely be repaired if the warranty is only for one year. Sorry!

  • Lack of access to the balance of audio volume control

    The balance function is 'available', but now hidden in Windows 7. Is it possible to use a script or macro to quickly access the balance control? W7 the access sequence for me is 1) Windows task bar (click to view)--> Start (button)--> Control Panel (list)--> material & audio (hyperlink)--> system (hyperlink) change sounds--> reading (tab)--> helmet (icon)--> properties (button)--> levels (tab)--> Balance (button)--> press '1' (scroll bar) and the key '2' (scroll bar)!

    A previous post, "can not balance sound in Windows 7", addressed to this situation with a label that showed more frustration a question. The response was useless for recommended action reduces the string above: click right volume (icon)--> (list) of sounds--> reading (tab)--> helmet (icon)--> properties (button)--> levels (tab)--> Balance (button)--> press '1' (scroll bar) and the key '2' (scroll bar)!

    My comments are: 1) I could not designed access more complicated if I had a degree in software development. 2) what's up with "Key 1" and "key 2"? People have a left ear and right ear. (3) I read that more than 10% of the American population live with hearing loss. The loss is not symmetrical. A balance of ready-access control is an important element.

    Please consider to improve this feature.

    Also note the way the quickest way to change the volume of your computer speakers is to click the speakers button in the notification area of the taskbar
    Right-click on the "speaker" icon and select the open volume mixer.

    1. on the speaker, once you get the properties of speaker.
    2. Select the levels tab.
    3. here, depending on the output device, you can goahead and balance the left and right output device.

  • Right channel Stereo died in first

    I just reinstalled my hearing and first CC (because of another bug).  The right side of one of my stereo channels constantly dies.  If I bring the stereo channel at the hearing, two channels play. I bring the stereo track in first, it will play if I adjust the balance, until I have stop, then when I restart the right channel is dead again.  Even when I export - the right channel is still dead.  It is an obvious bug.  My project is due tomorrow at 09:00.  Any ideas how to get around this mess?

    There are OTHER stereo tracks that work very well in the same project.

    My system: Windows 7 Intel i7 with 12 cores and 32 GB of Ram, clocked at 3.2 GHz

    Thank you very much!

    Sorry I called the effect by the wrong name.

    Add the channel Volume effect to the mixer of tracks as shown below.

    Increase the volume on the left and cut the right volume to pan to the left, the opposite of right pan.

  • HP 250 G4: noise becomes crisp when his next song / video plays

    Hello

    This is driving me crazy

    When I open iTunes / Nextflix / YouTube and play something, the sound is fine. But when the next episode / runway lights, or if I open another application and start playing something, the noise becomes crunchy / metal / distorted. As if the sound is too loud for the speakers - however, it happens even when the right volume down.

    I found two things this fix the problem temporarliy.

    1. If I refresh the Web page, or close the program and open it again, the sound is well again.

    2. If I go to control panel > sound > speakers/HP > advanced > and change the default format.

    But after doing one of these things, that the next video / track lights up, the problem reoccur.

    Things I've tried...

    • Exclusive mode under the tab advanced on 'speaker/HP.
    • Update drivers for speakers

    Maybe it's a coincidence but at the same time my laptop stopped carrying audio to my TV via a HDMI cable. If I plug it into another TV: no problems, video and audio through the HDMI cable. But he no longer loves my Sony TV.

  • How to disable the sound on Lenovo B570e meter

    I use Windows 8, in which there is a built-in volume with a small change indicator No volume and I like very much. How can I turn off the indicator of volume of Lenovo? It changed only ten steps the volume and it really lacks (once supported on Fn + left - the sound of quiet, you press Fn + right - already screaming). This absence is not exist in the standard volume indicator Windows 8 and I want to disable the volume inlikator Lenovo. How to do?

    I accidentally found the perfect solution! To use the default value for Windows 8, need to press Ctrl + Fn + right volume control / Ctrl + Fn + left respectively. Then the volume indicator that contains no Lenovo and volume changes in small steps (which is what I was going to)

  • does not scroll properly...

    I just bought my Fuze yesterday (and it's the first real MP3 player I used other than a cheapie)-I rebooted it and responsible for some of the songs, and they play... when I can get to it.  My problem is, I can scroll left and right but not up and down so I choose other menu items.  From time to time I can get it to move (like music to the video for the settings), but not all the time.  I saw this description in another post (which is pretty much what mine seems to do).  I have XP and I don't even know what version of WMP (I'm at work), but the part of it seemed to work very well.  Is this a hardware issue where I should just go back, or is it something that could fix a software upgrade?

    The rotation of the wheel left or right controls the directional movement, left or right (volume) or the top or bottom (menus).

  • Camera Zoom buttons wrong way round?

    Hello
    I have a weird problem with my Z3 zoom Compact camera landscape mode buttons.

    Rather than press the right volume button to zoom out, he uses the left volume to zoom...
    Someone has ideas how swap around?

    This is normal: High Volume (left in landscape mode) to zoom in and low volume (right in landscape mode) to zoom out. And I've never heard a setting to reverse them.

  • My c drive partition

    A partition labled partition 1 is in my c drive and I want to get it out.

    Check you want to do - the score was probably installed there for a reason (even if you don't) and removing could cause problems with the system or additional programs to the system (like your recovery or diagnostic disc).  It is better just leave it alone unless you need the space or have some other GOOD reason (not only because it bore you).

    The following was posted in another thread by Richard Urban, MVP (slightly modified):

    "If the volume in question is 'after' drive C: (your system partition), you can simply delete the volume. You can expand the system to the right volume. If the partition in question is before the system partition (to the)
    left) the tools provided with Vista will not handle the problem.  I don't know, but I think that the following software will do the trick:
    http://www.partition-tool.com/landing/partition-magic.htm?gclid=CODU7ar_kJ8CFUlo5QodsSIqKg.

    Vista (like Windows XP available) is also disk and partition sensitive. If you have a C: drive for data, and your system is installed on the D: drive, you can not only remove the C: drive and extend system partition to noted that the space - even with 3rd tools part. The operating system starts and you will have an exercise in frustration in getting it to do. Be prepared to reinstall the operating system, as it may be necessary to do so (and it will probably take a clean installation)".

    In short, be VERY careful on what you are doing here.  It is very easy to mess up your system so that you have to do a clean install to fix it.  You should back up your important data before doing this.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck! Lorien - a - MCSE/MCSA/network + / A +.

  • do not move the mouse cursor

    Hi all. today I did something really stupid. I was in a chatroom without supervision earlier and another person and I'm in it and I could tell definently I makes him angry. I left the chat room and 15 minutes later im on another site and the cursor of the mouse is suddenly freezes and does not scroll on the page. everything else seems to work very well. so I restarted the computer, the mouse works when the windows password page appears, so I type the password and then loading this page and the home page comes (one with all programs, etc.) and appears as soon as that is when the mouse cursor freezes and not scroll or move. everything else continues to load and seems to work very well. If I restart the computer and put it in safe mode and the mouse works moves very well and everything. Anyway, the bottom line is I think the other person sent me a virus or something that is used to pass my cursor in normal mode. What should I do? also, I can't get the sound to work on my computer in safe mode. says low right volume icon ' audio service does not "and I want it running in safe mode, until I can get this cursor problem is resolved. any help is greatly appreciated and please explain in terms laymans, because I don't know anything about computers. Thank you very much for your time and have a great day.

    Hi crazyforfrance,

    As the mouse works properly in safe mode I suggest you try troubleshooting this issue with a clean boot to see if we can identify a program or driver causing the problem you are experiencing.

    A clean boot to start Windows with some programs and drivers off or on selection. By doing this through trials and errors we can hopefully identify a specific cause of this problem. Here's how to solve problems with a clean boot:

    Clean clean boot.

    a. Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
    The user account control permission.
    If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type
    password, or click on continue.
    b. on the general tab, click Selective startup.
    c. under Selective startup, click to clear the load startup items.
    d. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box and then click Disable all.
    e. click OK.
    f. When you are prompted, click on restart.
    g. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

    If the problem is resolved, make sure what third-party program is at the origin of the problem, referring to the link given below:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

    Reset the computer to start as usual.

    When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
    Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
    If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue. On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
    When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Note: In safe mode you may not be able to hear the sound because the sound drivers and other drivers may not load and only essential drivers can handle, which are very important to run an operating system. and it's a way of diagonistic.

    Thank you, and in what concerns:

  • BSOD drives when adding T110 ii with PERC H200 and SBS 2011 or Server 2008 R2-

    Bought the server next in November 2011

    PowerEdge T110 II

    ManufDate: 24/10/2011 market: 06/11/2011
    RAM: 16 GB (4 x 4) 1333 mhz UDIMM DualRanked
    Processor: Xeon E3-1270 3.4 Ghz, 8 M cache, Turbo, Quad Core/8 t (80W)
    RAID: Map Perc H200
    Drive: 2 x 600GB 15K RPM SCSI 6Gbps 3 .5in - RAID 1 Mirror SA
    SBS 2011 standard x 64 (works on Win 2008R2)

    SBS 2011 installed without a problem and the server works perfectly since December 2011.  Backups occurring twice per day to a USB attached hard drive external 1.5 to and OS patches applied on a monthly basis without problem.

    Company need more storage so it wanted to add 2 drives more (same spec as to purchase). I thought to try to turn the RAID 1 pair in RAID 10 set in order to keep the simple logical configuration (a single large logical volume which now seems to be 1.2 TB in size instead of 600 GB) - could get but not really someone to describe if it could be done for non-destructive way that requires not the complete system installation/restoration - so opted for just add the 2 new drives as a RAID extra 1 pair in order to not reach a stable, boot, partition operating system running on the current RAID 1 pair.

    Contracted for the Dell technician to come out to install 2 new readers, be clear that the service was not complete until I had an extra pair of RAID 1, appearing as a usable operating system.

    Technician arrived, installed readers, set the new RAID pair in the H200 configuration utility, rebooted the system and when the BONES began to load had a blue screen BSOD. Technician then disconnected drives newly associated (the level of the cables) to see if the system would boot - BSOD again on restart (both of now get us this "pleated" feel if you know what I mean). Then went into the raid configuration utility, removed the new raid 1 volume (which, by the way, is appeared above the one existing in the list - which is not very intuitive that one that has been added is Volume 1 and the existing old is Volume 2 in the utility). After the triple-checking that we had the right volume (it showed that 8% initialized over the other which was complete, as well as the corresponding drive port numbers), we have REMOVED the new volume (at this point I don't remember if we had replaced the cables for the readers to perform this action).

    At startup the system rebooted normally - we were all so relieved, don't talk over retries at the moment.

    Talk to Dell there seems to be a problem with the PERC H200 firmware or drivers. Has not affected the config initial of a single pair of RAID 1, however caused problems when you attempt to add another pair. Escalation of Dell support said that has happened several times with Windows 2008 (which comes from the SBS 2011) systems. They recommended that the firmware update and the PERC H200 card drivers.

    I turned to the technician and asked when we could plan the updates of the firmware and driver and told him that they wouldn't do that (not sure that I blame the poor guy, he was sweating bullets after the BSOD 2nd).  I explained that we have contracted for installation services which included ensuring that the pair of extra disk appeared also usable for the operating system and he said that I needed to talk to Dell that.

    You wanted to post information on issues with PERC H200 BSOD when adding disks on Win2008 (or SBS 2011).

    Waiting for response from Dell as to who will come on-site to complete the installation.

    Any info about the question to know if the update of the firmware/driver will solve the problem or if I can do with reliability a disk 2 RAID 1 for a 4 disk RAID 10 conversion without having to reinstall/restore system would be appreciated.

    There is NO migration route TO or FROM a nested RAID levels (10, 50, 60) on one of the PERC H series, so it goes from 1 to 10 of RAID is not an option (without backup/replace/create/restore).

    Firmware release notes do not indicate that a large part is added (although the "bugs" may be enough):

    -Addition of Support for > 2.2 to SAS hard drives

    -Small bug fixes

    I have not seen/heard talk of this problem (I don't have a H200), but it is possible that an update of the firmware can change the way it handles the new disks, newly configured RAID arrays, or even how it presents to the OS.

    Do you know if the technician checked to see if the original VD was marked as boot VD?

  • How to make Navigation to the next/previous page in the hierarchy of plan?

    I have a site that I'm redoing Muse:

    Poetry by Dorothy V. Corson

    There is a navigation element, I don't see a way to do this by using master pages and navigation widgets.  If you go to the site, you will see a common element at the bottom of each page that looks something like this "< Previous Page |   Content |   Volume 1 |   "Next >".

    Is it possible to set up the previous/next links, so they'll automatically adjacent pages as they are installed in the Site map hierarchy?  I hope that this doesn't have to be done manually on each page.  And reorganize the site plan would fix previous/next links automatically.

    It seems that all the information is here, because the horizontal menu widget already knows how to generate a menu that contains ALL the adjacent pages.  What I need is a widget that allows me to specify only the previous and next pages.  In the example above, "previous" page link to the left in the hierarchy, 'next' for the page to the right, Volume 1 connect up to the parent page and the content would be a link to a specific page.

    The menu existing widgets seem to have access to the entire site hierarchy, so I guess it's possible to have a widget that would do this.  If one does not already exist, is there a guide on how to create one myself?

    I hate to tell you, but I don't know any widget out there that does this. I do all mine manually, sorry

  • Target the cloning drive vs Client API

    Hello. I work with the vCenter Converter Standalone Server API and ran a strange issue when performing cloning using the API I can't reproduce with the customer.

    During the cloning with the customer I am out of separate virtual disks of volumes of the computer physics source: I.E. C: and D: where on a physical disk and are now put their own thin provisioned virtual disk.

    It works without problem on the client and I get a vm to work in the end.

    When cloning with the API, it seems that I am making the same exact task that I could compare. Based on the example of dotnet SDK I expanded the method BuildCloningParams in the category of programs with the following code using the hardcoded values:

    List < ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams > targetvolumes1 = gcnew List < ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams > ();
    List < ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams > targetvolumes2 = gcnew List < ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams > ();
    List of < ConverterStorageParamsTargetDiskParams > targetdisks = gcnew List < ConverterStorageParamsTargetDiskParams > ();

    ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams targetVolume1 = new ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams();
    ConverterStorageParamsTargetDiskParams targetDisk1 = new ConverterStorageParamsTargetDiskParams();

    ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams targetVolume2 = new ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams();
    ConverterStorageParamsTargetDiskParams targetDisk2 = new ConverterStorageParamsTargetDiskParams();

    targetVolume1.sourceVolumeId = "\\WindowsBitmapDriverVolumeId=[C8-BA-43-2A-00-80-00-00-00-00-00-00"];
    targetvolumes1. Add (targetVolume1);
    targetDisk1.volumesToClone = targetvolumes1. ToArray();
    targetDisk1.sourceDiskId = "disk-1002;

    targetVolume2.sourceVolumeId = "\\WindowsBitmapDriverVolumeId=[C8-BA-43-2A-00-80-00-00-0A-00-00-00"];
    targetvolumes2. Add (targetVolume2);
    targetDisk2.volumesToClone = targetvolumes2. ToArray();
    targetDisk2.sourceDiskId = "disk-1002;

    targetdisks. Add (targetDisk1);
    targetdisks. Add (targetDisk2);

    converterStorageParams.targetDiskParams = targetdisks. ToArray();
    converterStorageParams.vmxDatastoreName = "*-datastore01;

    The task is created successfully and it goes through the same steps of the activity of client view. I also check vCenter to ensure that the right volumes are split to separate virtual disks on the virtual machine target.

    Once the hits 98% progress tasks view display the following errors:

    Error: An error occurred during reconfiguration.

    WARNING: Unable to update the drive letters for the destination volume page layout.

    WARNING: Could not update BCD on the destination machine system volume.

    I read vmware KB articles and the best match I've found is the following:

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1037507

    Export the logs shows a match with what this article describes. However, when checking for configuration of source by bcdedit boot I get the following:

    Windows Boot Manager

    --------------------

    identifier {bootmgr}

    Device partition = C:

    Description Windows Boot Manager

    settings regional en-US

    inherit {globalsettings}

    displayorder {current}

    toolsdisplayorder {memdiag}

    timeout 30

    resumption of the No.

    Windows boot loader

    -------------------

    identifier {current}

    Device partition = C:

    path \Windows\system32\winload.exe

    Description of the Microsoft Windows Server 2008

    OSDEVICE partition = C:

    SystemRoot \Windows

    RESUMEOBJECT {2a1e1d63-0b44-11dd-9c71-dce6a05ee2b0}

    NX AlwaysOff

    That sounds about right. The task of cloning issued by the customer also works very well. He brings just what seems to be that the same work of the API is originally a problem.

    Got, it works. I made a comparison between the params disc issued between the client and the api and found the client uses the ConverterStorageParamsManagedTargetDiskParams type and does not specify a sourceDiskId for all other volumes other than the first. So now, my code looks like this:

    List targetvolumes1 As new List();
    List targetvolumes2 As new List();
    List targetdisks As new List();
    ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams targetVolume1 = new ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams();
    ConverterStorageParamsManagedTargetDiskParams targetDisk1 = new ConverterStorageParamsManagedTargetDiskParams();
    ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams targetVolume2 = new ConverterStorageParamsVolumeCloningParams();
    ConverterStorageParamsManagedTargetDiskParams targetDisk2 = new ConverterStorageParamsManagedTargetDiskParams();
    targetVolume1.sourceVolumeId = "\\WindowsBitmapDriverVolumeId=[C8-BA-43-2A-00-80-00-00-00-00-00-00"];
    targetVolume1.resize = false;
    targetVolume1.resizeSpecified = true;
    targetvolumes1. Add (targetVolume1);
    targetDisk1.volumesToClone = targetvolumes1. ToArray();
    targetDisk1.sourceDiskId = "disk-1002;
    targetDisk1.diskType = "vmfsMonolithicFlatThinProvisioned";
    targetDisk1.datastoreName = "*-datastore01;
    targetDisk1.gpt = false;
    targetDisk1.gptSpecified = true;
    targetDisk1.lvg = false;
    targetDisk1.lvgSpecified = true;
    targetVolume2.sourceVolumeId = "\\WindowsBitmapDriverVolumeId=[C8-BA-43-2A-00-80-00-00-0A-00-00-00"];
    targetVolume2.resize = false;
    targetVolume2.resizeSpecified = true;
    targetvolumes2. Add (targetVolume2);
    targetDisk2.volumesToClone = targetvolumes2. ToArray();
    targetDisk2.diskType = "vmfsMonolithicFlatThinProvisioned";
    targetDisk2.datastoreName = "*-datastore01;
    targetDisk2.gpt = false;
    targetDisk2.gptSpecified = true;
    targetdisks. Add (targetDisk1);
    targetdisks. Add (targetDisk2);
    converterStorageParams.vmxDatastoreName = "*-datastore01;
    converterStorageParams.targetDiskParams = targetdisks. ToArray();
    converterStorageParams.skipUnwantedFiles = true;
    converterStorageParams.skipUnwantedFilesSpecified = true;
    converterStorageParams.optimizedPartitionAlignment = true;
    converterStorageParams.optimizedPartitionAlignmentSpecified = true;

    The commented lines were another game params that the customer used but also disabled the default API will be anyway...

    Recheck the api refdocs has helped to better explain why to bother not set the value of sourceDiskId when the volumesToClone specification:

    'Drive from source to be cloned. Refers to diskId. This field must be expected disk cloning and based on the volume for the corresponding source disk. Based on the volume of cloning supported creating new target discs that does not have a corresponding source disk. In these cases, this field should not be set. »

    My best guess is to create two disks target with the same diskid causes some confusion until the copy of volume is over. Now it works, I've cleaned the changes to BuildCloningParams:

         ConverterStorageParams converterStorageParams = new ConverterStorageParams();
