No route to host

Hello

I have an iMAC new with Mountain Lion 10.8.2 installed (all updates are installed to).

I have VMWare Fusion 5.0.2. installed also.

Now when I turn on VMWare Fusion my internet connection is not active in mountain lion.

All that follows is perfectly configured:

-Ethernet to the host computer is configured with DHCP with its own IP address.

-Network card in the virtual machine is configured to be filled (to get its own IP address) and when I'm in the OS that is installed on the virtual machine the IP I'll be back is a diffirent one then the host operating system.

-In the operating system installed on the virtual machine, I have internet connection!

-Within the lion mountain with network tools I can't do a traceroute to what anyone outside the network.

-I can close the VM or any computer within my local network of mountain lion.

Could what I do to understand what is wrong with the OS - X or VMWare fusion 5 eighter mountain lion?

Best regards

Richard

The main problem seems to be networks virtual for 'host-only', 'NAT' and 'shared '.

These 3 virtual networks, there are 3 ethernet adapters added to your Mac OS X.

By default, only 2 not 3 virtual networks are created by VMware Fusion, VMnet1 (host-only or private on my Mac) and VMnet8 (NAT or share with my Mac).  The "add_bridge_mapping en0 2" is not a default value and is created if a user chooses to link the bridge to a specific host NIC

Yes where it should not.

Stop VMWare Fusion and restart.

With the following command in the terminal, you'll see that the en0 ethernet adapter:

ifconfig

Now the startup of the host operating system and voila, it should work.

Please keep in mind that it would be you may have to repeat these steps once change you settings of network through the graphical interface of VMWare.

Because it is a configuration file and it can be changed again by VMWare Fusion.

I have not tested it since its now works for me.

Deleting VMnet1 and VMnet8 host and not have them available for the guest are fine if you must never use Bridged Networking however is not always practical while of particular workaround may have helped isn't you necessarily the answer for others have an Internet/network connectivity issues!

In addition to manually edit configuration files of VMware Fusion, that it must be done with the Virtual Machines stop, not suspended, and VMware Fusion closed... then your efforts are not in the proper context!

But still, I can't ping the device...

    What did I miss?

It seems that the device is properly connected to your computer, and networking has been correctly configured. However, the messages that you have found, and the lack of support of ping suggests there is still a network problem prevents you from reaching the unit.

Did you set it to 'Storage and access' mode 'Windows '? "Windows" mode is RNDIS, which works perfectly and 'Mac' mode (and perhaps her detected) are ECM and has some problems with some linux configurations.

You can reach the exit of "route ip get 169.254.1.1"? For my part, I see

    169.254.1.1 dev usb0 CBC 169.254.1.2

Your network (192.168. *) should not affect your debug configuration, unless your network is a 169.254. * network.

Boy, all the guys from RIM should play on their rules.  It would have been easy for them.

In the Widget/WebWorks config file, you can specify which transport to use application and enforcement.

The default order seems to be:

          MDS BIS-B TCP_WIFI TCP_CELLULAR WAP2 WAP

The problem is, the BIS server can't find my private server (nor should it).  I still think it's a bug, it should go to transport after the failure of BIS - B.

In any case, I changed my order for testing purposes.  (Not sure I recommend for production, but who knows do).  I moved WIFI upward and now I can load my application my private server remotely.

    Hello

This error is usually done to firewall or selinux - but since you have already disabled, I recommend you just do a restart of your two virtual machines as I have explained these mistakes here http://salmandba.blogspot.sg/2015/04/using-cluster-verification-utility.htm

I also believe that you have also disabled Firewall (not only stopped) by using the command «chkconfig iptables» off

  • Comments operations manager / file manager returns an error "no route to host" when you try to copy comments RHEL to vCO device

While trying to use the package manager script comments, I discovered to RHEL6 invited, we have a problem copying the file back from the guest to the vCO. Systematically all fail in the 'Copy of the file of comments to the vCO' workflow and in testing, the error is reproducible.

Specifically, the final stage of this workflow - result = fileManager.downloadFile (vcoPath, ftInfo) - generates the error "no route to host (workflow: copy of the file of comments to the vCO / Scriptable task (item1) #10).

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Make sure your vCO has network connection of the ESX host, the virtual machine is running.

Comments operations connect directly to the ESX host from the client (here: the plugin from vcenter in vCO) after the opening of the procedure on vCenter.

Well, it could also mean that the server that runs your applicationserver 18111 port is blocked. So I would check with your network managers if this port is open in your applicationserver. They should check the firewall (if you have no control over this yourself).

Often the situation with a customer is that your development computer is an application server LAN so that your (development, test, acceptance, production) is a data center on an another sub - lan. With another firewall. Development of your PC, you need to access internet-http and perhaps other protocols. But these are generally not allowed on the data center lan. You will have a separate drive from your lan to the data center development. Probably the server has 2 network cards: one for the internal network and one connected to the DMZ. In the DMZ, probably a configuration of proxy/reverseproxy routes requests from outside of your application server and visa versa. If the proxy must also be checked.

This should normally be the case in a customer-even when it's a development environment. Because you don't want intruders piracy of your systems, even on the development. And although you might not care, the dev - env should reflect your prod-env. So, it must also use a dmz with a proxy/reverseproxy configuration. If it's a Setup program on your laptop or your local home network your configuration might be simpeler. But then again, you might have to deal with different firewalls. If it's all about your laptop (using VMWare for example) I would try when temporarily stop all firewalls.

You said that you did not have a proxy. What matters to your pc dev as the application server?

  • The fields 'Name' and 'Domain' to 'DNS and routing configuration/host Identification' are always in gray

In VI3, I used to change the settings of the host DNS (host and domain name) to the tab 'DNS and routing' - & gt; "Identification of home." Even more, if the DNS and DHCP are configured correctly in the environment, there is no need to set these values manually - they were discovered automatically. The story is defferent in vSphere 4. I still have the set of fields 'Name' by 'localhost' and 'Domain' field is empty. And I can't change them - they are grey.

Seems that the host is still able to discover its hostname automatically. I see the proper name in the (left pane of vSphere Client) console tree. But these values are not met the 'DNS and routing' tab and I can't put them manually.

This is normal and how do I use these fields now?

Yes, you're right. It's a little strange, but it works this way in vSphere now.

If you do not need to protect virtual machines in the Bridged network would be nice.

If you need Internet access, but want to isolate virtual computers (for example, if you plan to configure DHCP on one of the virtual machines), then you should choose using a NAT.

If it a personal device so if you add the BlackBerry data Plan / BIS on your account will let you BBM, access to the BlackBerry browser, services of personal e-mail and many other data services on Mobile network, a data plan normal allows all the features.

When BIS is correctly activated by your carrier you will receive these maintenance book and will be able to see the Scriptures on the host Routing Table.

But the important question is the Indian more carrier are unable or not to add a device to verizon on network and has been reported by many users. Therefore, communicate with your carrier (Vodafone India) to know your problem.

What security mode are you using? Privilege 'egi' is WPA-Personal. WPA2 only.

Temporarily disable WPA security and see if it connects.

  • Router EA4500 I can't connect into account outside the home

I Born just this topic http://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/I-can-t-login-into-smart-wifi-router-outside-home/t...

and check my email for registration - when I click on the page open link says I'm already registered.

No idea how to solve this problem?

Ensure that the ISP's modem has not built into the router. This can interfere with remote access to your router main host.

Can try to disable your account Smart WIFi or see if you can remove the acocunt router then re - add again.

  • WRT54G behind another wired router?

    Hello

I have a wired network in a small office space.  I would like to buy a wireless router and put on the existing network to add a wireless network.

WRT54G can be used for this. I would have preferred if the new network was separated, but I would also if it's posible to change the settings of the router so that it begins to work as a simple access point instead.

I can't change the router of the internet service provider, and I don't want to change the settings in the router either.

    Best regards.

    # This is not possible with your WRT. You cannot prevent attempts to connect from the second router LAN in the first router's LAN. All the second router traffic must pass through the first router that makes everything accessible. You would need equipment to enterprise-level which allows you to filter the arbitrary traffic. But the WRT can do. I can't speak to your wired router.

If it's only on disabling wireless, you can do that in the web interface of the WRT. You can turn off the wireless radio. Then you can keep the connected WRT.

The alternative would be to get another (third) router that hosts your internet connection. Then you can connect your router wireless and wired to this third-party router effectively separating the wireless LAN and wired the other sharing the same internet connection.
