No screen saver after logoff

With Windows XP, after that I disconnected a screen saver would come on.  With Windows 7 I now notice that after I have my screen saver does not illuminate logoff.  Is there anyway to have this happen?

Thank you

Mike Stevens

Hi, Mike Stevens,.

I think that you have installed some third-party screen saver. If so, contact the support team to check if it's compatible with windows 7. Usually, windows screen saver does not work after you disconnect your computer.

What operating system is installed on the computer?

Method 1: To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Try to perform the clean boot and check if it helps, here is the link:

The display turns off automatically or did you put the laptop into sleep mode.
This occurs if the laptop is in the PC mode or Tablet PC?

    Hello JDG_SF, welcome.

These options are very likely controlled by your GP (Group Policy) settings on your domain. Due to the nature of the work of rights how administrative, there is no way to work around this problem, unless you have access to change group policy settings that affect all the machines on your network.

You would need to access or to change the settings of GP or find someone who already has access.

  • After leaving the screen saver, display shuts off and change to select the user account screen

I have a windows7 32 bit desktop. While everything works fine the problem is whenever I leave the keyboard and mouse intact even for one minute, the display turns off and change to select the screen of the user. 'Disable the display' and "put the computer to sleep" has been on 'never' and screen saver changed nothing but the problem still persists.

    Please provide the solution

    Hi Sam,

    Sorry for the late reply.

I understand that when your computer is left idle, the select user screen appears.

The issue can be caused if the power plan settings are incorrect.

To get a better understanding of the issue, I want to know:

    1. What is the brand and model of your computer?
    2. You did it changes on your computer before this problem?

To resolve the problem, try the following methods:

Method 1: Troubleshooting to be able to run.

The resolution of the problems of power check things as settings timeout of your computer, which determines how long the computer waits before turning off the display or enter the mode 'sleep'. These settings can help you save energy and extend the life of the battery in your computer.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-power-Troubleshooter

After trying method 1, if the problem persists, try Method 2.

Note: When you're done, restart your computer and check if your computer works fine. If the problem persists, try Method 2.

Method 2: Change the screensaver settings.

  • Windows 7 freezes after the awakening of the screen saver.

Windows 7 has recently been gel after the awakening of the screen saver that works all night.  This does not happen after shorter periods, to be in screen saver mode.

I use a (empty) delivered screensaver.  When he wakes up I can open the Control Panel, but I can't open anything else.  If I try to open a Web browser first browser does not open and I can't open the Panel configuration or any other application.  I can't even restart the computer without hitting the power button.

This is a new Windows machine and it worked fine for several months.  It is a series of of CM5571 ASUS desktop PCs. Pentium E5400 Dual Core CPU. 6 GB of ram 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium operating system.

In the event logs, I see errors repeated for SideBySide and volmgr.

My advice is that you should update the BIOS and motherboard drivers:

    http://support.ASUS.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

Have you tried updating the BIOS yet?  'freeze upwards after the awakening of the screen saver'-c' is very similar to a problem faced by Vista users with motherboards Asus 2/3 years ago:

  • I put my screen saver to turn on after 1 minute of inactivity. It does not

I put my screen saver to turn on after 1 minute of inactivity. He does not. I followed the instructions for the Dell Studio PC monitor owner, without success (i.e. type msconfig in the search field, etc.). Could it have something to do with the type of computer that I use (IT ' has an ASUS K52F series)?

It would be useful to know what checks you did already [especially because your reference in msconfig means you did not hurt already].

I assume you have checked the installation was properly completed and everything on the monitor & PC are in agreement.  I suppose also that you have checked the monitor & display settings in the display panel and checked power options.

Check the entries in the Manager of devices for all the warnings, and then try to update drivers - particularly the card video than the one responsible for many problems of power management driver.

    Run the troubleshooter of power

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-power-Troubleshooter

then run both the troubleshooters maintenance & Control Panel Performance, troubleshooting.

If the settings you put in do not appear in the advanced power management options so watch this one then

When you configure power options for the active power plan in Windows Vista or in Windows 7, the changes do not appear in the Power Options item in Control Panel

If this does not help then run the System File Checker to repair corrupted in Win7 files
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833 there is additional guidance on this subject in sfc.exe/scannow

Finally, check your hardware compatibility http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-gb/Default.aspx

  • How to get the screen saver photos slideshow goes completely after 2 minutes

Since I got windows 7 my photo slide show I had always put to screen saver turns off after 2 minutes. I love looking at all the photos of my grandchildren, my screensaver settings is correct, but I don't want my screen to go black after only a few pictures

    Hi Emmauscapeofgoodhopesupportteam,

I think I have the solution to your problem, who can you look at pictures of your grandchildren.

As you said you have the correct settings for the screen saver, but your power management options can be verified.

    Please follow the instructions below.

    1. click 'START' and select 'control panel '.

    2. click on 'Harware and its' option

    3. now, select "Power Options" now you should see the options of 'Balanced or High Performance' under 'Select power management.

    4. Select the "Balanced" option and click on "change plan settings".

    5. now, you will find an option "Disable display" default is 'Never' and if not please change it to "never."

so this should keep your monitor after happening to the screensaver. If you want to be off after some time, you can select required time to the same option settings.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium switch user screen appears after that so much time has passed well that slowed after the SmileDesktop with screen saver is installed, but do not know how to stop it.

I used the selective startup to the Office of Smile, which replaces and updates the old Webshots Desktop, which includes the automatic download and auto downloads of images from their site as well as a screen saver.

All running processes continue, but it's the nagging drawback of signing as myself to the computer after having been automatically set user to switch mode. It's probably the fault of this program. In addition, before this Webshots desktop update which included also a screen saver Windows update the eve told me don't not to unplug my computer and that she had to deal with several updates of windows, so I went and the computer stop moments later. The next day was when the message for an update has been waiting for the SmileDesktop program, which is a program that mimics Webshots Desktop, as well as replace the Webshots Desktop. After installed SmileDesktop automatically changed my screen saver settings that were on any mode SmileDesktop screen saver mode. I clicked on the option to disable screen saver. That's when I first noticed the screen splash appearing after that so many minutes of inactivity, change that said user and then I started to worry.
Norton has found no problem with my computer, and
    Finally, I gave up.

    Hello

Thanks for asking this question to Microsoft Community.

If I understand correctly, you want to disable the fast user switching option. Could you please answer a few questions before moving?

Since when are you facing the issue? Do you have any security program installed on the computer? How many accounts is configured on the computer? Have you done a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

Here is an article that will help you to turn off the fast user switching option. Alternatively, you can uninstall Office to smile and check if it helps. You can also make the screen saver password that is built into Windows. Follow these steps:

    (a) open screensaver settings by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type screen saver, and then uncheck the box for password game screen.

Hope this information is helpful and let us know if you need more assistance. We will be happy to help.
