What antivirus do you use?
Errors that you see are usually caused by interference with the anti-virus analysis program e-mail.
Turn off e-mail on your antivirus scanning software and check if this solves the problem.

The problem is that you allow your antivirus to mess with your email. Which is not recommended for the reasons explained here:
http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htmChances are, AVG antivirus was installed with the default installation option. If so, uninstall, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then allows you to deselect install his embarrassing module scan to email.

See if you can get webmail to work well here: http://www.slingshot.co.nz/ If Yes, then make sure that you do not have your antivirus value analyze them. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 . It's a face more issues that can mess things up. Then try to delete your account, close OE and then reopen it, and then add the account back again.

I am running Vista Home Premium, Windows Mail 6.0.6000.16386 and free AVAST version 7.0.1466 program v. When searching for error codes that I receive, I can see this is perhaps a problem with the anti-virus software, but no one says how to solve problems.
First error: your (or SMTP/POP3) server has not responded in 90 seconds. You want to wait 90 seconds for the server to respond? It doesn't matter if I have a bit of waiting time or even increase the time-out threshold.

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 , you may need to disable email scanning in AVAST or uninstall it and then delete your email account, compact and repair the database of WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/) then add your return email account again. WinMail has quite a few quirks and sometimes it appears one needs to remove the account to solve the problems.

Outlook and Outlook Express are completely different products and are not related except for the names.
The problem you describe product generally when you have not defined thte option to authenticate your outgoing SMTP server. If you click on tools > accounts, select your account, then click Properties, you should see a Servers tab. This tab is a check box labeled "my server requires authentication". Check it out. Then check the settings button to the right. You'll see two radio buttons. From the top, labeled 'Use same settings as my mail server outgoing' is generally the right to choose.
