It would be possible that the reason that your registry database seems to zero after the reboot is your antiviral is preventing to be changed when you update your drivers.  but this is only an idea unproven, but a possibility.

in all cases, try to do a restore point for today / now.  This will take a snapshot of the current state of the system.

Then, see if you can restore your computer state before the update that would have saved the drivers work and functional setup for your speaker system.

my suggestion is to run a system via safe mode restore it if the anti viral theory is true, that it will not impede the process of restoring system in safe mode.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - sound after installing Windows XP SP3 driver

    Hello

I bought the Satellite Pro L40 about 6 months ago and the speed of the laptop is too slow with windows Vista. So I decided to install an old copy of windows XP that I had purchased earlier. I updated the windows SP3 installation before installing the drivers.

Now, all the drivers have been installed correctly except the audio driver. I downloaded the XP version of the driver on the toshiba site, but it did not work. So I though that maybe the vista version would work, so I downloaded that. But that no longer works.

Can someone suggest a solution where I can get the audio driver to work? Preferably without having to get the reinstalled windows again.

    Please help me...!

    Thank you

  • I have no sound after installing Windows XP.

    Audio... No sound!

I formatted the hard drive and intalled win xp pro, now it tells me I have no audio device, please help!

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site
and search for the Windows XP drivers for your specific computer or motherboard model number.

If there are Windows XP drivers, then download to a folder on your hard drive and burn it to a CD/DVD.
Then, after installing XP install all device drivers, starting with the card mother/chipset drivers,
LAN, Audio, USB, SATA, etc, and so on.

Note: If there is no XP driver listed, then your computer is not compatible Windows XP.

  • I have Photoshop 7, running on Windows XP SP3 and I want to install it into my new PC (and it will remove the old) that runs 10 64-bit Windows.

Photshop 7 works very well for me, but I guess that it will not work on Windows 10 64 - bit for my new PC.  I use not PS often enough to justify the signing of a lease plan, I would buy it, pure and simple, but only need software that does what makes 7 PS.  What should I do?

Maybe my mind is gone, but I thought that Photoshop 7 would still run under Vista.

Its for a long time I've used PS 7

You can run VM in windows 10 home addition

but I think it will cost you.

This problem is likely to make for an extension of the shell badly installed on your machine.  The way to solve this problem is to download and install the free software "ShellExView".  When you run this program, it displays all shell extensions that are installed on your machine with a checkbox next to it.  By unchecking the box, you can disable this particular shell extension.  By trial and error, you can find the one that is causing your problem.  Once you find it, the solution is usually apparent (usually UN-installing and re - install an application associated with this file extension).

I can't find your audio driver on the HP support page, but I was able to locate it, which is the same engine as yours, just the latest version. According to what is listed, it supports Windows 8. Give it a shot and let me know if it works for you.

  • Loss of sound after IDT High Definition Audio Codec update.

HP Support Assistant says that a new driver IDT HI Def Codec is available, so I downloaded and installed 6.10.6417.0, after which I have no audio output. I don't know which driver version was installed before the upgrade, but I have since downloaded and installed 6.10.6330.0 and rebooted but still have no sound. The device is activated and if Windows says that it works correctly (which isn't, but then it is Windoz).

I'm now totally at a loss as to how to proceed otherwise that a clean installation of Windows that, for obvious reasons, I'd rather not do.

    System details:

HP Envy 14-2002ea Beats Edition runing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp53001-53500/sp53281.exe

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

    When finished, stop the laptop.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

    Kind regards
