No sound on Displayport on T420

On my T420, I can not any audio signal via display port. The picture is fine, but the computer can't find all audio devices attached to the RFP as my T410 and W510 don't. The only audio device I have in the audio in the control panel is the accumulation of Conexant sound card. I really don't understand, DP cable works perfectly with W510, T410 and T510 computers. I have the integrated Intel HD graphics card and there is no new audio drivers available in the system of Lenovo update, any ideas?

Just an update, the adapter of those who have had problems with the audio on their T410S ordered and said worked, also works on the T420, it's this: http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-DP2HDMI-DisplayPort-Adapter-Converter/dp/B0017K6BDW/ref=pd_rhf_p _...

It works immediately.

  • ProBook 6540 b: no audio signal through Displayport

The Displayport video output on 6540 b does support audio? If so, how I would allow sound through displayport through the windows? I was not able to get sound to participate in one of my TVs that has DisplayPort inputs.

    Hello:

It's possible this is the case.

There are a few PCs that do not support audio out of the view port.

I was hoping that it works.

What would you say to the manage audio devices in the hardware and sound section in the control panel?

You see two audio devices listed?

The laptop speakers would be the IDT audio and if you see an Intel HD audio device, for the display port.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to connect to a display port, select the Intel HD audio device in the window and see if it works.

If you do not see the two audio devices listed there, so I doubt he's has supported audio out of the view port.

  • UP2414Q, sound support

does anyone know if new UP2414Q monitor supports sound through DisplayPort and HDMI? I can't find any audio outlet. in the site Web Dell mentions soundbar AC511 but I can't find how to connect it.

    Thank you

    Oren

    onovitzk,

Everything we provide on the monitor is the Dell Soundbar mounting slots. There is no audio passthrough in the monitor. If the Dell Soundbar audio cable should be connected to your computer audio output jack. The Dell Soundbar will have its own adapter to connect to the wall outlet.

  • Dell Inspiron One HDMI question

I have an Inspiron One 2320.  I tried to connect a TV as a second monitor.  To my surprise, the computer's HDMI port is a HDMI input port.  Am I reading correctly?  Can someone please help me and confirm that I can't use the HDMI port to connect to the TV?

If it is in fact a HDMI input, what is - this really for?  What devices that require an HDMI port to send the signal to the computer.

I am so confuse with it, and why even do a HDMI input and not a HDMI output?

    Thanks in advance

I have an Inspiron One 2330 Touch.

Other features include an HDMI port... A HDMI-IN port. It would be something like a Blu - Ray player, cable box or DVR amp HDMI out, Tablet... something like that... like the Inspiron is a simple monitor or HDTV.

I was also surprised that the video output was only a VGA 15 pins. Maybe the next model will have a DVI output. At least this way, either natively or with a converter inexpensive... you can drive DVI, VGA or HDMI even (with no sound). DisplayPort is a versatile alternative.

In your case... If your template does not output a VGA (or your second monitor is not a VGA input)... you should be able to get a "USB video card.

  • With the help of jack of helmet on ban with X 230

    Hello

When I connect the headphones to Jack on the body of the laptop speakers are turned off and his past in headphones (and Windows (8 RTM) that detects correctly). But when I connect headphone jack on ban, speakers are turned off, but nothing comes out of the headphones (or Windows seems to detect changes).

No idea what to look for?

It turns out that by default when you fasten laptop ban she anime sound to DisplayPort. Without installation of Lenovo drivers for the graphics card and sound card, you cannot change to put its ban.

  • 32 envy: no sound on HP Envy 32 via mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable on Mac mini

I recently bought a HP Envy 32 monitor and hooked it up to my Mac mini using a mini DisplayPort (i.e. Thunderbolt) DisplayPort cable. The video works fine @ 2560 x 1440, but I have no sound. The output sound in references to system preferences "the selected device has no output settings" for the 32 envy. The sound works fine when I use a HDMI cable, but then, the resolution is limited to 1080 p. The Mac mini is a mid 2011 model, which is able to transfer the audio via DisplayPort, SAA as far as I know. Any suggestion on how to solve this problem?

Figured out how to get mini-displayport audio to work with the HP Monitor (I have a Macbook Air)

In addition to choosing the HP monitor HP ENVY 32 audio in the PREFERENCES SYSTEM-> SOUND->-> OUTPUT

An adjustment should also be made to the AUDIO and MIDI CONFIGURATION.  You can either do a search for it in the finder, or it is in APPLICATIONS-> UTILITIES-> setting up Audio and MIDI

    1. Open the app
    2. In the left menu, select DisplayPort
    3. Format of... Replace with 48000,0 Hz 2-channel 24-bit wide

Once changed, you should be playing audio from your monitor.

    Good luck.

    Audio Realtek... (external chip!)
Intel HD Audio, I think that what comes from the CPU/GPU (Core i)

I hope someone can helf solve me this problem.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

As far as I know to choose the HDMI output as the primary device.
You can do this in Control Panel-> sound-> playback.

If you n t all devices listed in this category, then you should try right click and must have activated options called; Show hidden devices and show disabled devices.

    I hope this helps.

  • Max ThinkPad T420 Dockingstation DisplayPort resolution

    Hello

What is the max of the ThinkPad T420 docking resolution? I would like to connect a monitor with a 2560 x 1080 at 60 Hz resolution...

    Thank you and best regards

If you are using DisplayPort, it won't work. DVI port is single link and therefore capped at 1920 x 1080. VGA may or may not be able to drive it.

  • Adapter DisplayPort to hdmi adapter for T520

Hello, I have a T520 and would like to connect it to my TV for picture and sound.

If anyone can recommend a particular product (perhaps provide a link) that works well?

It seems that some people have problems with delivery of sound (the photo is OK).

BTW, I already have a hdmi cable and would not buy another cable (displayport to hdmi adapter).

    Get an adapter.

  • No sound on LG display via USB - C

I just got a LG 27UD88 display to a MacBook. The monitor supports USB - C and claims to support audio over USB - C. The MacBook is connected only via the USB - C cable.

    • Powered MacBook & recharge?
    • Video work?
    • Display USB hub work?
    • Audio through speakers display?

The MacBook certainly sees the LG monitor as an audio output device. System Preferences > Sound > result lists both options

    • Internal (built-in) speakers
    • LG Ultra HD (DisplayPort)

When the LG is selected, however, there is no audio. Volume level on the screen is up.

    Any suggestions?

Could check you if the monitor has speakers built in? I saw this monitor, too, but I think that it has only a 5mm 3 speaker, (which could refer to the "internal speaker" option).

  • Tecra M11-103 - no sound on TV with HDMI

    Hello world
    I really need your help,

Until today, that I used a mini adapter displayport to HDMI to connect my Tecra M11-103 to the TV while doing something today that happened and all of a sudden, I got video with no sound on the tv when I tried to unplug the device and plug it in again, he would show at all and would not recognize the tv in the future...

Now when I go to the windows Mobility Center when the cable is conneceted as usual, I predd on connect monitor, it behaves as if there is an external display, but on the display when trying to identify the motiors example I plugged under the option double screen.
so he recognizes my laptop as external screen and the pc monitor...
Way the easiest would be to display an image on the screen of what I see, but I can't do it here...

Anyway all of a sudden he tells me it's a vga connection, regardless of wethear or not theres even a cable connected...
I need to recover my back... mini display port where I can c what happened if its damaged or something please Ive spent hours trying to sort and nothing works... it isn't the TV for sure...
I run windows 7 pro 64 bit and I tried to restore the operating system...

    thnx
    Etty

    Hello

Generally the connection to the TV shouldn't be very difficult.
Must connect two devices with a compatible cable, and then you have to go to the external video output using the FN + F5 key combination.

In addition, you can check the sound settings in the control panel-> sound-> the Read tab.
Here, you choose a digital output (hdmi) as default setting.

My other idea is that something could be wrong with the display driver.
Try to reinstall the graphics driver and check if it helps.

It s worth also set the BIOS to the default settings, I doubt that the BIOS could be the problem here, but it of certainly worth a try...

  • Tecra A11 minidisplay port only no sound

Hello. I have the same problem as asko78. I tried the solution without any result. I can't change the status of the audio controllers hdmi because they are reported as "not connected". Hdmi displayport cable 2 is positively connected. The picture on my TV is fine. Clues would be greatly appreciated. The TV is a "OKI" if it's important. Thank you

    Javier

Information on the same topic. In the audio Manager for Windows, there are 3 devices: HDMI, speakers and headphones. The two HDMI a headphones here is a red icon (disconnected). If I plug headphones in the corresponding icon lights up (connected) green one I use headphones as the audio device. Should the same has happened with the minidisplay port, I guess, but if I plug in the capture of the port, nothing happens. It stays red (unrelated). Of course, the computer does not notice the connected plug into the audio portion. Why?. I don't know if it's a hardware or software problem. My adapter says it can deliver sound signals... Clues? TIA

  • EliteBook 8540w: no audio signal through DisplayPort

I'm trying to connect my laptop to my TV through DisplayPort. I bought an adapter DisplayPort to HDMI cable. The image is fine, but no audio is coming through. I don't see TV as the device in the sound Panel, and I have only (not Intel) IDT audio control panel.

    Any ideas?

    Solved.

It was in the latest versions of the NVidea driver. I uninstalled the driver and then installed the driver that was originally shipped with the laptop (Oct 2010 driver version). The TV came immediately as playback device and its working now.

  • T420 graphic card appearing does not

Hi, I have a T420 that I recently bought, and the seller said that the computer comes with a

NVIDIA NVS 4200 M graphics card. And no matter what I try I can't find anywhere.

    I went through:

    Device Manager

    CPUID HWMonitor

BIOS (no mention of switchable graphics anywhere, or even mention of video anywhere.)

I have downloaded the nvidia driver and he said that he could not find compatible graphics hardware.

As silly as it sounds I only bought this computer due to his condition and does, it came with a graphics card.

The model number is 4180-CP1, I checked the drivers for the model, and it is said there are available for laptop nvidia drivers. It is in very good condition so I don't think that the card can be fried, but I don't know what to do to get it activated. I've already updated the bios and nothing seems to have changed. (Through the lenovo update tool)

I really need to understand this because otherwise I have return the computer and that will cost me much!
