  Don t use the series or different model Toshiba laptop recovery CD!
  The system will not properly work because drivers and tools that are preinstalled on the recovery for A100 CD are designed only for the model A100 laptop and not for M70 or other series!

  If you lost the recovery CD, you can either order a new one or you can use a new original CD of Microsoft Windows OS. You can then use the drivers from the Toshiba page.

My Equium M70 notebook is about 2 years old and suddenly decided not power without being connected to the electric network. Finally got round to buy a new battery and put in tonight.   I think of buying a full version of vista home or premium edition. Y at - it a special procedure to install vista on my equium M70-337?

  I don t think that there is something wrong with the hardware. I guess its wrong settings.
  I recommend you to check the options in sound and audio devices properties.
  Please enter this option in the control panel. Select the voice tab and use the Test hardware button.
  Also check the Volume button. Check if the Microphone is selected. Then go to advanced. Check the area other controls. Play with the micro amp options 1 and 2 Select mic2.

  I also use the external mic and on my unit the amp microphone option is selected.

  Looks like you've ruined the whole OS. Perhaps the installation of the graphics driver for the Toshiba page will help you. If this isn't the case,->, try to reinstall the entire operating system since the Toshiba Recovery CD!
  The drivers on the CD are tested and should work properly!
