No sound on my Satellite P100 with XP

I spent from Vista to XP, and now I have no sound!

I downloaded the Toshiba s Web site drivers, but I run the Setup and "Driver Installation Failed: could not find the MEDIA device for this driver" message appears...

Can someone help me, please? I can stand not having t do not sound... really.

(It of a P100-322, if you need further details please tell me)

Thank you

Hello

First of all you need to know, what is the Satellite P100-322 series. The number should be placed at the bottom of the unit.
Then choose this series in the form of the Toshiba driver download driver audio right!

There you can find the compatible audio driver.

Question no sound after downgrade to XP is a known for me. This problem occurs because your Windows XP operating system is not updated and MS patches are not installed.

You must first remove the sound card driver. Then restart the laptop and install install KB888111 and KB835221 hotfix. After this installation, restart again and install the audio driver.

Good bye

    Hi all

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite P100 - 324.
I installed Win 7 64 bit on this computer and I have problem with sound now.

My sound does not work. I tried to install a driver but without result.
I tried to download the driver from realtek but it was the same thing.

Do you know how I can run on this PC?

    Thanks for your advice

    Hello

Satellite P100-324 belongs to the series of PSPA6E.
The European driver Toshiba page asserts that Realtek audio driver should be compatible.
But the Realtek audio driver Toshiba on page is released for Win 7 32 bit, not 64-bit.

I recommend the driver on the Realtek page. There you should find one that suits.

You can also check the Dev ID and could find the compatible driver for internet.

  • Crackle sound windows on Satellite P100

I have a Satellite P100 and keep problems with the sound, I frequently get crackles of sound effects to Windows, and recently the speakers stopped working for a few moments, then came back. When I tried to turn the volume up I could not access the speaker controls as it said that there is no active device.

Has anyone else had this problem or has a solution. ?

Found an interesting thread about crackling noise on the P100 and as the user TDC , said that the audio driver should be updated.
BUT: Before installing the audio driver updated to at least the BIOS version 2.10 or higher must be installed on the laptop.
Be careful with the update of the BIOS. Choose the good BIOS and the right update procedure

    Hello

I m not a P100 owner and, therefore, I cannot give you an opinion on the quality of the sound on this laptop. But according to the specifications of the laptop, the speakers are certainly harman/kardon.

What model P100 do you have exactly?

You may need to use its Windows XP Win7 driver, depending on what sound Chip is on board.

  • Satellite P100 with memory of 4 GB on Vista X 64

I installed 4 GB in my bios 4.20 P100-160, OK, CPU - Z show 4GB, windows system shows 3 GB (exactly the same amount of 32-bit vista), I thought with vista 64 bit, windows can see all the ram memory, am I missing something?

    TOM

I thought quite the same thing as you. It is well known that Vista offers 3 GB in a 32-bit version. Are you sure that the hardware on your P100 supports Vista 64 - bit (CPU, motherboard) to 100%?

I found a few articles on how to Toshiba battery BT from Microsoft, but it seems to be a collaborative XP and above all he always need to install "Bluetooth Monitor for MS Stack", but I cannout find this download to MS VIsta.

  • Satellite P100: Crackling sound with Vista Ultimate 32 bit

Hello, I have a problem with the sound card. As initially also under Windows XP, fixed by a patch, I now have this new cracked also Vista in sound.

Excuse my English, I translated it with Babylon.

    Hello

There are many different Satellite P100 with the specifications of the sound chip series.
I would be very interesting to know the name of laptop exactly; P100-XXX

Anyway, generally update the audio driver should help get rid of the crackling sound!

  • 3 questions on Satellite P100-324

    (1) LED light under speakers - can it be disabled? It is very annoying especially at night...

Volume 2) audio - when everything (on the front of the laptop volume control) and software (application or system volume controls) are overexploited, the sound is not enough strong :), I do not use 'caps' or built-in speakers (for this noise of devices is probably good), but quality Sennheiser headphones and audio output power is not enough for them... is it possible to get more volume on the connector 'headphone '?

    (3) where the wireless switch is turned on, I experience weird flickering of the active window. When any window/application is active (selected), it will periodically lost focus about every 3 seconds. It is especially VERY annoying and disturbing when you work with any application. When I write that I am typing letters, cannot scrolling windows properly etc...

Hope someone can help me solve at least one of these problems.

    Hello Samuel

I'm not an expert, but I'll try to give you some answers:

1 blue LED under speakers is not disconnected. Just FYI: P100 not all have this blue LED. Satellite P100 with NVIDIA graphics card are delivered with LED on.
2 about noise, it is not easy to tell what the problem may be, but as far as I know your device supports the S/PDIF optical Jack. You can find it on the front. Check it please in sounds and Audio devices Properties > the speaker settings > Advanced what speaker configuration is set here. Try it please change the setting.
    3. I don't know what you mean exactly under the strange flickering, but I recommend you check if this happens just because of the WLAN card or perhaps because of the ongoing process running in the background.
You can try to install the latest version of the WLAN driver and BIOS update course (attention how to do this). This happens just the battery and also power running?

Shaking display unknown for me. Sorry I can't tell you anything on this subject.
