No startup sound of windows or close or any other programs, but media player works great!
I wonder that if someone could help, my mother inlaw is running an acer m110 Vista Home Basic which, for the last three months, has ceased to produce a sound with in windows. That is to start / dump the trash / low battery etc. But windows media player works fine. Perform microsoft controls / reinstalled realtek driver/made sure he did not cut the batch. I even went in the menu sounds and it will all work by doing a check for the speakers, but I'm puzzled as to why there is no sound in windows?
If any body has a glue regarding what could be wrong any help would be appericated.
Hello
Control Panel - sounds - sounds tab - check the sounds of Windows of Play starting - APPLY / OK
If checked then uncheck the APPLY / OK - then go back and check again.
Check the premium sound system - make sure it is not set to no. SOUNDS.
Test the individual sounds you like.
Double click on the little speaker near the clock - mix - make sure Windows sounds have Volume
and is not cut.
I hope this helps.

Since the update to Firefox 4 my Windows toolbar crashes after a few minutes. Firefox also uses a huge amount of memory. More than any other program and I have a lot of powerful programs. This time 222 000. More than any other program. Critical problem.
I am glad that you are making progress. With all the Firefox test gets I was optimistic, such a problem could not escaped, and that the problem is more likely to be on your own computer.
P. S.
Note there is also a bug not fixed in Firefox, causing several plugincontainer.exe to launch even for disabled plugins turned off cookies (or history).

Original title: "skins".
I recently downloaded a lot of skins from the microsoft Web site, and it worked very well for about an hour. Then I saw a skin called 'come back' I don't not download but recalled seeing in my default skins that were already installed. I wanted to see what it was and when I did caused a problem which I can't specify because the notification window remained only until fairly long for me to see (in a nutshell) "unknown problem caused media player to close and to protect my Media Player Windows has disabled skins. Now, I spent over 3 hours to try each answer in the forums for this issue and not one worked for me. I am running Windows Vista Home Basic and I can't find a way to reactivate my skin so that I can use only skins working know is the company and changing the skin that caused the problem. I tried deleting and reinstalling all the skins again, but again does not help. I tried to do a right click on the skin to go to properties to activate as suggested in the forums, but when I right click on it nothing happens. So now I have like 20 downloaded skins but the only way that they work is if I download again and choose to view them, but if I try to change the playlist or switch to full mode then it goes to firm skin and I download it again to get the one I want. I am so frustrated with this problem which I think should be a very easy thing to fix, but nothing I try works. Please help me. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.Hello

Sounds of Windows Live Movie Maker fine in project but no sound when recording video

More that likely there is a problem of compatibility with one or more
of your source files. Even if the project plays when
under the direction... the problem occurs when it is coded as a video file. The only solution I know is to convert your source files
the formats that are no longer compatible with Movie Maker.Several formats are apparently compatible
with different versions of Movie Maker
but the most reliable choices are:Photos - bmp, jpg
Video - wmv
Audio - wav, wma, wmv -

Windows or any other program can not find cd/dvd drive.
CD/dvd drive opens accepts the disc closes and nothing happens, if I select a program to read, he says no supported drive found. If I open my computer, the drive E is not indicated.
Hello
Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.
Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

Windows Movie Maker does not respond as expected. Everytime I open the program to make videos, it freezes constantly and closes. This happens 2 or 3 times until it opens any and said that "another user runs the program on this computer. Close the other session before continuing with this one. " So far, I did a disk cleanup. The same problem happening to my Windows Media Player, I it opens and closes.
