  There is a small problem with the rules after that I updated the VM cartridge level.

  In the default rules, I changed a few settings so that they will act as I need.

  However, each time I upgrade VM cartridge my rules are off and marked as backup.

• Satellite 1400: I get IDE-error after upgrade to the slimeline DVD - RW drive

  I have the laptop with a DVD-ROM above it. (Second hand and no manual)
  I have a DVD - RW Drive (SOSW - 852S) I would use.

  I can adapt without any problems.

  It freezes on the spot but for about 2 minutes and then it says IDE-error then it it boot XP.

  When I go into my computer there is no DVD player.
  Have I missed something when I put the disc?
  I can't? t get the BIOS to check it out.

  If you read the report you notice there is nothing on the battery. Do not post these reports unless you have been asked to do or have a problem identified in the report for which you need assistance.

  Your battery information is reported in the power section of the information system located in your Utilities folder. Monitor user activity to see if you can identify any process consuming a lot of time processor.

  Before Mavericks

  Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the drop process .  Click the % CPU column heading twice to display in descending order.  If find you a process that uses a large amount of time processor (> = 70,) then select the process, and then click the quit icon in the toolbar.  Click the force quit button to kill the process.  See if that helps.  Don't forget to mention the name of the runaway process, so you can find the cause of the problem.

  Mavericks and later versions

  Open the activity monitor in the Utilities folder.  Select all processes in the menu display .  Click the CPU tab in the toolbar.   Try these in order to test your system after each see if it is back to normal:

  1. a. reset the PRAM and NVRAM on your Mac.

  b. Macs with Intel processors: reset of the controller (SMC) system management

  Note : You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest to use Ethernet if possible because it's three times faster than wireless.
