  Which suggests a video-webcam next to a person icon updated on Skype? This person is currently displayed in offline mode, but the webcam icon is on next to his name, (after his status message) when I look at my updates.

  After you install a new operating system, you must also install the appropriate drivers for it. The drivers are the responsibility of device/chipset manufacturers, not Microsoft (since it would be impossible to maintain) and is to be manually updated regularly by the end user, to ensure the best performance and stabillity.
