No wireless - Photosmart D110a (CN731A)

I just bought this printer today with a new computer and I am unable to get it properly connected to the wireless network.

When I select the router, enter the WEP key and perform a network test, it prints a sheet saying there are no problems found and looks like this:

  • Wireless on - PASS
  • Wireless - PASS work
  • Network name (SSID) has been found - PASS
  • Security - PASS
  • MOVE the print settings comply with the configuration of the wireless router-
  • No filtering - PASS
  • Connected - PASS
  • Signal - Excellent quality

169.254.x.x IP addresses are auto-assignée and indicate that, Yes, the printer is not connected to your router.

My first recommendation is to change the WEP.  WEP is not at all safe.  It can be broken in 10 minutes approximately with the freeware. In addition, WEP can cause problems of connectivity depending on how your router is implementing.

Change to WPA or WPA2 with a password of 13 + character than you do yourself.  Make sure you use numbers, letters, uppercase and lowercase

Well Yes, any number of computers, laptops, iPads, iPhones, iPod touches, etc..  Here's how:

On the front of the printer: Setup > network > Wireless Setup Wizard.  Choose your network and enter its password.  Now, it must be connected to your network.

Now you have to point the other devices to him.  For computers, download the latest version of the software for your printer from the "Support & Driver" link at the top of this page.

    Chris,

I'm sorry to hear that the problem persists and that none of troubleshooting was able to solve it. Looks like the scanner bulb has developed a problem with this printer at this point. If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

  • Photosmart D110a driver problems

    Hi all

I have a HP Photosmart D110a. I came across some printing problems (always said it was looking for printer, never found), but I had not being updated or changed something, it just happen out of the blue.

I deleted my drivers, thinking I could easily find them online. I don't have the CD. I am running OSX Mavericks. My printer says it is connected to my network wireless, but when I try to add the printer in System--> Printers Scanners preferences &--> + it does not detect. There seems to be no download of driver software available on the HP site, that instructions on how to download updates from the update on Macs, which is not good because it is said that there is no available.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Desperate here.

    Hi thuffman,

I've worked with a lot of other help get the HP printers installation and in collaboration with the Mavericks. You are right, for the moment there is no full software features and driver for the D110a, but with a doubt be able to add the printer.

You said when you try to add the printer "it does not detect", I just want to clarify that. The computer does not detect the printer or the computer does not detect the driver?

As I understand it, I suspect that the computer does not see the printer at all which means that the computer cannot be on the right side of the network. You said that you have confirmed that the printer is on the correct network, have you checked the computer network? If the computer is located on the right of the network may try to turn off the router, the device from Apple and HP printer.

Follow these steps to turn off the router, Apple and the printer device.

  • HP photosmart d110a: printing using ipad

    Hello

I've been printing from my ipad using airport express on my HP Photosmart D110A with no problems (since we do not have a modem at the cottage). Recently, the ipad has asked a password to print. We have never set up a password before since we initially the printer to work by setting up an ad hoc network. The printer is the name of the network SSID and display for the password is "undefined".

I recently had a software upddate and now, whenever I want to print something, the notice to enter the password rises and does not print because it will not accept a password on the ipad.

I don't understand why I now need a password when I never needed before, and how to set a password for the ad hoc network so that I can print from my ipad?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @JMPLB,

Thank you for joining the Forums of HP, I can certainly help you to print from your iPad.

I saw a need for a password with the type of connection you use, so you may need to re-establish the ad hoc connection.

Simply tap the dashboard bit next to the key on the front panel of the printer, to access the Setup menu, then click on wireless. In the wireless Menu, select wireless settings, then select default network. If the blue wireless turns off, restore wireless settings and choose activate wireless. Once this is done, your printer will be broadcasting the AdHoc network, and you can join the network with your iPad again.

Please let me know the results of your efforts, and if you need help, I'll gladly do everything I can to help!

  • PhotoSmart D110a Wi - Fi not working after move

I have a PhotoSmart D110a I connect to via WiFi (WPA security).  I've had the printer for several months. When I had originally, it put in place and connected as in a dream and worked without a hitch since the day 1.

This past weekend, that I moved into a new House, and once I had my network up and running again, the printer no longer works. I use the same router (Linksys E-series), with the same SSID and WPA password, and the same computers in the same configuration that previously worked in the old House. Needless to say that computers can connect to the Internet via the router wireless very well, and they are sitting right next to the printer (so there should be no problem of signal strength).

What is happening is as follows.  The printer claims that it is properly connected to my network, but no computers on the network cannot find the printer. I used the utility installation network printer wireless to join the network (it seems to find the correct network, no problem), and re-enter the password via the keypad of the printer utility, as well as using the method of the WPS (i.e. ' push buttons') to re - connect the printer to the network. Each time, the printer indicates that it is connected properly and is able to print a network status page. The IP address is of the order of 194.168.x.x.

But every time my computer or my wife (both machines to Windows 7 64-bit) laptop can detect the printer on the network. I tried to add a new printer using the native Windows program such as uninstaller and reinstalling HP, nothing helps. I have also tried to enter the IP address the printer claims into computers manually, but computers still can't find the printer.

I would be grateful for any help. It's pretty frustrating - for the affected printer, it works fine, but is not, and literally nothing has changed except the physical location of the equipment (same ISP, same cable modem, even wireless router, same computers, printer, even). Thanks in advance.

OK, well, are you sure that the printer and the computer are on the same network?  Probably aren't, but more strange things are are produced.

Have you rebooted the router and verified that the firmware is up to date?

  • HP Photosmart D110a does not connect after the software update of the router

I'll try a restatement of my first message:

Two days ago I had problems with my Internet service provider modem.  This problem has been solved, but leads to a second problem still does not connect to the internet.  Then with the help of technical support D-Link, an update of the software has been downloaded to my wireless router and installed and now I can connect to the internet.

But today, I had to use my printer/scanner for 2 1/2 year, HP Photosmart D110a, it is not connected through the above wireless router.  (The blue light on the printer blinks just).  Tech support says I'm out of warranty, so I hope someone can help me here on this forum.

    Thank you!

Glad you got it to work, please mark it as Solution accepted so that others can search and find the answer too.

  • Photosmart D110a will not scan

I am more able to scan documents on my printer Hp Photosmart D110A. I use Mac OS X portable 10.7.5 version. It is connected wireless and I am able to print.

When I get up and walk on my printer, I select SCAN > SCAN TO PC and I get the error message: TRY to SCAN from which SEE COMPUTER DOCUMENTATION.

When I open HP Scan on my laptop, I click on the button SCAN. He says then PREPARING to SCAN. Then he said: SCANNER COMMUNICATION CANNOT BE ESTABLISHED. THE PRINTER IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILIABLE. ENSURE THAT YOUR DEVICE IS TURNED ON, CHECK THE CONNECTION AND MAKE SURE THAT YOUR NETWORK IS WORKING PROPERLY. IF THESE CONDITIONS ARE CORRECT, RESTART THE DEVICE AND TRY TO SCAN THE IMAGE.

I restart my printer and it will not scan. Nothing wrong with my internet connection. Previously, before I had scanning problems, my wireless on my printer button was flashing and I couldn't print wireless. I uninstalled the software from my laptop and remove the printer. I reinstalled the HP software and added to the printer and that solved my printing problem.  Now, digitization is a problem. Can anyone help me please with my scan problem?

    So I THOUGHT about IT!

After you download the HP driver online once again, I went to HP utility (I had to add my printer again going up in system preferences > Add button > IP and enter my IP address).

In the HP utility I cliked the name of my printer under devices, then on the right side I cliked the additional settings under settings of the printer.

Then, I clicked on the embedded Web Server Open button.

My web browser opens and it is the HP embedded Web server for my printer. I clicked the Scan button and the scanned image.

You will then need to right click to save the image, and it allows to print wireless.

So after a few days of trial and error my scanning has been fixed.

  • No ability to scan with printer HP Photosmart D110a

With the recent updates, I lost the ability to scan my printer HP Photosmart D110a model.  I tried to re - load the disc where I initially installed the printer.  I also tried downloading and updating online services.  I have a PC HP Pavilion Elite HPE running the Windows 7 operating system.

What can we do?  What else is there to do!

    Rudy1906,

I uninstalled the existing software, installed the downloaded version of the most recent features complete drivers for the D110a, then reloaded my original installation on download CD, and now it seems to work.  I can now go to the center of Solution and I guess that all other errors are "supported".

The only thing I did differently in this re - install was re - load the CD on the download.
