• Non-breaking space as GREP not recognized?

  Hello

  I'm trying to insert a non-breaking space in a paragraph numbering style. I have to do this through GREP text characters. The GREP text for a non-breaking space is "^ S". The chips paragraph Style and numbering menu, under Numbering Style > number, I type for example: "text ^ SHello. I expect to see 'text Hello. But I see "text ^ SHello" out. It seems as if "^ S" is not recognized. Is this a bug or I do something wrong?

  Okay, we don't mean number prefixes longer, we speak of cross references. Different animal.

  I just tried sticking a nonbreaking space in the prefix filed in the numbered list dialog box, and then make a reference to the format to display the paragraph number. The non-breaking space, I pasted is preserved.

  Maybe a little late for all these people above, but it is a pretty simple way... Open the ' glyph ' Muse and search for the second or third 'empty' - area glyph. It is a non-breaking space. It worked for me.

  I just started working with Khmer text in InDesign CS 5.5, and in order to use a dictionary of Khmer hunspell for the spelling I placed a hair space between words and a horizontal width of 1% grep style applied (because the Khmer uses no spaces between words and InDesign do not believe that a space of width zero separates the words as we usually do for Khmer).  Now, I've encountered a problem - it seems hair spaces do not allow for line breaks, when you use justified paragraph styles.

  Can anyone confirm that the areas of hair do not allow for a line break?  And suggestions on how to fix this?

  I think that all fixed-width spaces are nonbreaking.

  I do speak french at all and for me is really (really) a lot of time to verify if all the text that my company gave me the right text formatting.

  We have a lot of years translated user manuals there is inside our company and without space between punctuation right. The problem is that, in the same document, I have some parts of the text by a professional translator with all the right spaces and other parts without any extra space...

• Conditional and non-breaking hyphen in Word disappears when they are imported into InDesign

  I have a text in Word 2007 with several discretionary hyphens and nonbreaking hyphens. When I import the text into InDesign through 'Place' the dash disappears.

  • Words with conditional dash are now broken somewhere else than where I put the hyphen in Word: Long-break-words could become: Longbreak-ingwords.
  • disappaer breakting no hyphens and not replace it with space or other hyphenated: This-is-a-very-long-word becomes Thisisaverylongword

  You sent me in the right direction, thank you! Word does not correctly soft strokes and that's why teas disappear in ID. To insert a good link in Word: alt + 0173 on the num pad. To do a search using VBA use CharW (173).

  This isn't happen if I export to PDF and XHTML of the EPUB has paragraphs in the code.

  Use (\\d)[[:blank:]]([\\l\\u)] in a txt of the script file (i.e. bar escape backslash).

  I'm not sure what you're trying to do, but a non-breaking space would work for you? (Hold down the option key and type a space where you want two words to stay together).

  According to me, that there is a bug in the management of the RemoveExtraWhiteSpacesOnXMLImport implementation in maker.ini. This setting is designed to condense the sequences of spaces used in documents automatically printed XML to a single space. It seems to remove space after a reference as well. If you have control over the XML you read and that you can avoid these white space (or other situations in which the entry can have additional spaces), the best solution is to set this flag OFF.

  What FM version do you use? I don't remember if this bug has been fixed in FM 2015.

• InDesign line break forces - don't know why

  I am a noob in InDesign, so it's probably a noob question. I have a file from another designer that I need to make some changes. Now for the life of me I can't figure out why inDesign requires my sentence on the next line, even if there is place in text... I have applied so far to paragraph style standard to remove attributes of text that could be applied, but in vain. I also tried with a non-breaking space (just requires the previous word on the next line), checked for clothing (there on 'ignore' text block options) and there is no specified tabs. The only thing that 'fixed' it is when I align the text with the grid of baseline or to make a new block of text and copy paste the text inside. But I just _really_ want to know what is the cause. Any ideas? Or is this a bug?

  
  

  The upper part of the block of text is not right. It seems that the upper right corner was accidentally pushed down a little, and I think that's what strikes 34% "on the next line. Try selecting it with the white slider and make sure he has the same y-intercept as the top left.

• How to remove the spaces from the figure at the bottom of page - too much space

  I have a problem with too much space between the notes, I think that the # (space figure) is the cause of this, if I could take them off and just use the space after the paragraph style Panel, it would be great. There are currently 0 space after or before the game in the style of paragraph of the notes.

  I tried to do a find/replace search to try to eliminate this space but then this error message saying it can't find no space appears in the doc.

  Please help, what missing am me?

  Note: Be sure to check icmls related - or they say it does not find matches even when you can see them!
