Noob question: reading

I'm composing a sequence of 16 bit dpx returned by application 3D images. I imported the first rendered little frameworks (1920 x 1080) in Premier Pro. I dragged the sequence above the time line, and that it appears as expected. But when I press play, I see the chronological marker moving to the right, but no animation is displayed. All I see is the first celebrity.

How can I Pro first read my animated sequence dpx?

I have read the quick start guide, but it was no help in this case.

Thanks for the tips.

First Pro CC 2015.0.2: Trash MacPro, OS X 10.10.5, 32 GB of RAM, etc.

Ah, nevermind. I thought about it.

Unlike After Effects, you must select the FIRST image of the sequence, or PP CC only loads the image that you select. DOH!

  • Noob question: Playbooks all have the same performance?

I know... noob question. I am to complete my first game PlayBook and before I submit the app store I wanted to make sure that hardware performance will be the same on all the playbook or will it be something because of the performance issues on a per-device basis? I hope that this will be similar to a console where you can expect stable performance. THX.

All devices (currently) work the same in the same conditions.

That does not mean, however, that you can treat it as a console.  A console runs only a game and nothing else (in general).

The PlayBook can run multiple applications, and among other things, a user can 'Behavior of the Application' setting configuration Mode Showcase, default, or standby, what determines if your application runs or stops when it is idle.  If they are in window mode, they may have other things at the same time.

To a first approximation, however, "even in the world" is probably correct, for now.  Don't forget there will be different tablets in the future, with specification different but compatible with your app... not quite like a console there where many games is basically orphaned (or requires a port) when a new generation comes out.

  • Noob question: autonomous AIR .bar files?

Sorry for the noob question, yet to learn these things from the air. When we create a .bar file, it is the only file position, does it include the runtime air, flash, etc, etc, or is it always require an accumulation of air / flash runtimes on the device? THX.

The .bar file does not include the time of execution because the runtime is already preinstalled on the Playbook.

Air is really integrated into the PlayBook so you don see the difference between a native app or an Air application.

  • NooB question: Cup titles and a schedule of transfer

Let's say I have tons of tracks.  In the Middle, I find I want to firm up a few seconds of footage.  I can cut, or delete the clip, but I still have to select all the following clips and make sure they move upward.  There must be a smarter way of removing a few seconds of footage and moving upward?

Sorry for the noob question, I searched on google and didn't know what to look for.  I am open for more information that can help me to tighten my research thus.  See you soon.

The answer will probably depend on more factors:

Are there in your Timeline, Clips above the area of the Clip you want to Trim?

What you want to happen to those?

Are you only concerned to "strengthen" the Clips on the same video track where you cut, or Clips on other tracks video too?

It is likely that the tool Edit Ripple, or Rt-click and Ripple delete, will do what you want, but who can count on the other Clips on other tracks, and video that you need.

Good luck and please let us know a little more.

  • D.I. box noob question

    Hi all

Sorry for the noob question, but I need something clear up if possible. I was about to buy a box for injection and then had a query on them, and if I actually could benefit in this scenario...

Fig 1. is how I currently record.

Fig 2. is how I would do it with di direct box

    diag.jpg

My question is... in this configuration, the d.i. box would make a difference to the signal? or he would only make a difference if I was going to live guitar to box, the sound card?

Thank you for all your help.

In my opinion you have basically three alternatives for the recording of the guitar:

    1. get an amp excellent sound, recording with a microphone, or more, in a room of good survey.

Challenges: you'll probably need a studio proper, or at least no neighbours, because it could become LOUD. It takes time and experience of mike a good amp and even microphones expensive (several). Result depends on the acoustics of the room more than you think.

Another way here, is to get/build an isolation area around your amp, which will be a kind of micro studio for it, allowing you to play hard and with a good tone, but in a more controlled environment. Many advantages for this make. Unfortunately, the expense can also be 'pro' - but I don't know there are DIY solutions.

    2. record of the amp 'dry' via either its line (send FX will also) or use a ' soaking power allowing you to put the amp (some sounds so much better AMPS), but with a low volume in the room. You can connect the device of soaking directly, or give the speaker the "tame" signal and mike the amp without disturbing the neighbors that it now. Good power soaks don't come cheap (?). Dry recording, for example by not using mike, often sounds like this: dry. It depends on your style of music, but an electric guitar should probably be considered an acoustic instrument. Instead of a diaphragm in wood, it has a speaker. The sound, often, we want to achieve is an amp of good sounding in a good room, which is an acoustic sound. You simply cannot get to an exit row or direct to a soaking of output power (not president). He needs treatment.

3 use a program like GuitarRig, Amplitube etc. No installation required, regardless of the size of the room and acoustic sound (except that the acoustics of the room always will affect listening!) or mike. The software simulates the amps, effects and even mic configurations; added the "airplane" that you will not get a direct connection. Once again, according to your style. If I were Bill Frisell or Jim Hall, i.e. anyone with an as most of their music very "naked" guitar sound, I probably does (but these guys have access to the great engineers too...), but in a pop idom / mixed rock with other instruments and certainly to do demos, that's actually what I would recommend. Especially for us space challenged who have neighbors and an infinite time either. No, you will not look like 'all the world'; It's garbage in French - garbage out as always (many are disappointed by the present, but some are happy, it is always the case)

All you need is a sound card with an instrument of entry. If you have a * good * sound card already who is not entered instrument, you can consider a DI box. Otherwise I'd say it's redundant.

  • Totally new with noob questions

OK so im totally new to developing with Flex. My company uses flex to create RIA that work to read and write with SalesForce CRM. I use the salesforce toolkit and have an understanding of how everything works great base. what im trying to do is take the data which are entered in a text box and who present for salesforce. Currently, the first name, name and phone number are in the code. have created text boxes, I don't know how to take the value that is entered in one and make that equal to the value of its corresponding field.

    like I said... total noob

If you are in ActionScript. FirstName = firstName.text should be fine, but in MXML and sometimes in ActionScript, you may need this:

    VAC. FirstName = "{firstName.text}.

  • Noob question - selectedLayers

    Hi guys,.

I wrote a simple script using selectedLayers to get the properties I wanted. I just realized that, so that selectedLayers to work, he seemed to think I first select layers, then run the script.

It is abit problematic, given the use of script later. Is there a better way to point to the selection of the layer or some kind of a constant update on the selectedLayers?

    Thank you very much

    Desforges

I see. Read the original question gives the impression that you think this selectedLayers is not updated in real time.

It is actually updated in real time, and this is what might cause you a problem:

Because adding a new layer to a model disables all in this model and selects the new layer.

===> If you ask comp.selectedLayers even once it does not contain the original selection but only the extra layer.

If you need to store the array of selected layers before doing anything (var a = myComp.selectedLayers). Then make your changes (add NULL values, rename, set expressions) referring to the table 'a', not myComp.selectedLayers.

Not 100% sure that it resolves your problem, give it a try.

  • Adding a RAID card to help speed up the export (and another question reader) in first Pro CC

First of all, I read the Page Tweakers export section because that is my main concern is. First my questions, then the background and my current and proposed configurations:

Question 1: Adding a hardware RAID controller, for example an LSI MegaRAID will sufficiently remove the burden of parity management CPU on my RAID 5 software that the CPU will jump of joy and export faster?

Question 2: If true for above, then compare thoughts on adding smaller SSD for either a RAID 0 or less two RAID 0 volume volume complete HDD RAID 5. In other words, I think the purchase of four Samsung 850 Pro 128 GB SSD to put in a four disk volume to handle everything (projects/media, media, previews, export cache), or split it into two volumes of two disks of each and divide the tasks, or keep the idea of volume four disc and previews and exports on my drive HARD RAID 5 array.

The 850 are valued at SEQ write: 550 / 470 MB/s so I could get around 2000 / 1500 MB/s read/write to a disk four RAID 0 or 1/2 who, if I divided in two volumes to minimize the volume of read/write at the same time, if it really matters with these SSD?

The Tweaker page made some comments. A split is carried out the tasks between different drives, rather than a large effective RAID can really slow things down. Because SSDS are much faster than a single HARD disk, I think its more accurate than so I'm leaning towards the configuration of four discs put OS & programs on the C drive, media & projects on media on SSD (2 disks RAID 0) Cache and D (HDD RAID 5), file exchange & Previews & export on 2nd SSD RAID 0 (or combine the two RAID 0 and their functions).

Just trying to get a point of view here, since I have not bought anything yet. Any experience/stories, I would be grateful.

    My current setup of training:

My D drive is a software RAID 5 consisting of four 1 TB Western Digital RE4 (RED) 7200 RPM hard drives with CrystalDiskMark SEQ read/write of 339 / 252 MB/s.

The C drive is 500 GB SSD (Samsung 840 (not Pro) and fact 531 / 330 MB/s.) My OS, Program Files and Page file are on C and media data/files/projects, etc. that are all about the RAID drive.

    Problem:

Current configuration allows for smooth installation, just export seems slow, usually taking between two and two and a half times the video length to export. Thus, a 10 minute video takes 20-30 minutes for export. 15 minute video can take 30-40 minutes to export. The first 10% of the export of re-encoding takes less than a minute (seems fast), but it becomes slower when the final 10 or 20 percent may hang for several minutes as my system is running out of steam. So, where's the waste?

I activated the hardware acceleration (because the GPU hack my GPU is not listed) and it can break through to 25% use a few times and eat up to 600 MB of VRAM (I have 2 GB of VRAM), otherwise it is slowed down export set. The CPU can boost at 50%, but it seems either too busy.

Our calendar is simple with two video and two audio streams (a little music and especially the voices), with simple transitions (jump cuts or cross dissolves). Sometimes, we fast correct color, so that could use the GPU? Also, given that we are filming in 1080 P 60 p and 1080 export 29.97 FPS, I think who is scaling and using the GPU. I know that without the GPU, it takes much longer. I excluded buy a faster GPU because it doesn't seem to be breaking a sweat. I just need to know if my system is a bottleneck at the level of the disk hard because I am using software RAID and my disks are slow and hardware RAID will considerably reduce the processor load so it can export more quickly.

Our files are not huge in nature. Most of our clips are several MBs each. Total files in the project are between 5 GB and 10 GB for each video with Windows Media File export being 500 MB to 1.2 GB on average. Look using Panasonic Camcorders, so the original files are AVCHD, I think (.) MTS files?).

    Considerations:

    1. I think to buy (and future proofing) a LSI Logic MegaRAID 9361-8i is 12 Gb/s SAS and SATA (because some SSD current can exceed the standard 6 Gbps).

    2. I will not replace my current HDD RAID 5 as not in my budget to spend 6 or more large SSD. These discs are more important to me for temporary storage because I delete files saved once. I don't mind a few smaller SSD inexpensive if they can make a significant difference for editing and export.

I can only guess my RAID HDD is slow but the CPU is burdened by parity. I guess running RAID 10 would not really help.

    My configuration:

    my configuration:

    CPU - CPU i7 - 3930K @4.5 GHz

    RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR3 2133 @2000

    Motherboard - ASUS P9X79 WS LGA 2011

GPU - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 OC 2 GB (performed the hack of compatibility list to activate hardware acceleration).

    Drive C - 500 GB Samsung SSD (programs and Windows 7 Pro 64-bit) 840.

D drive - four 1 TB WD RE4 enterprise hard drives 7200 rpm in RAID 5 software

Box - Cooler Master HAF X

CPU fan - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO with 120 mm fan

Power - series Pro Corsair AX 850 watts 80 Plus Gold

    Optical drive - Pioneer BDR - 208DBK

    Thanks in advance,

    Eric

OK, after overload of information on everything I tried (free), which might be my answer here. I went from codecs to export. When you use Windows Media File, Premiere Pro seems chugging along much slower than when you use the h.264 (not h.264 Blu - Ray). I don't know if it's because Microsoft has found a way to break it or what. But I'm the CPU usage of 70-85% on the 2 Pass of 2 as well as the use of the memory of 40% (or 12 GB). It exported in 14 minutes. Woo - hoo. I then did a similar test using Windows Media File. It took 31 minutes to export. The CPU has spent much of his time in the 30%, especially down in the 1930s mid-1940s with spike for memory usage was only 24% to 35% and 50%. Since then, I've read how h.264 codec is 'plu' for online files. It compresses better with less compression artifacts. He seems better, etc. Well, they both seemed on the same thing for me. I play both on my TV 70 "before I could comment further. In the future, I will consider a RAID controller and upgrade the HDDs to SSDS.

  • Honest Noob question...

    Hi all

I am new to this site and new to VMware in general. Just a little story about me before I ask my question: I've been in the computer industry is going on 12 years. I take CERT in MCSE, CCNA and also have an A.S. in Information technology. I recently joined the ranks of the unemployed, but I decided that instead of wallowing in the mud, I would add as an indispensable another cert to my portfolio. Just before I was laid off, my company has invested in VMware. I was not outside the installation and implementation but he was fascinated by the technology of none-the-less. I decided to go for the VCP through HP and later training cert.

My question is that this company will be in vain because of my lack of experience with VMware technology (my virtual knowledge is limited at best to VirtualPC)? I'm sure there are many others out there who are in the same boat as me. An input or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    THX in adv...

First of all I suggest start with an ESX Server, you can practice install ESX on a VMware workstation: http://knowledge.xtravirt.com/white-papers/esx-3x.html

    Read PDF files: http://www.vmware.com/r/resources-documentation.html

Try to get the most out of your course and ask questions if you are not sure.

If you can afford to get a cheap server and get ESXi to really get hands on experience: http://www.vmware.com/download/esxi/

  • General Noob question

    Hi all

I have in the past played a bit with VMware server. so I'm quite familiar with the concept of virtual servers; and I have read through most of the VM-ware site and have became familiar with the idea of ESXi.

So I have a series of fundamental questions; and I hope that someone can guide you in the right direction.

But first, it's my objective and existing installation:

I have a small server with 6 Windows 2003 server room. Four of them are highly dependent on each other for the day-to-day operations of the company.

    Issues related to the:

    • (1) is it possible to place all six servers on a single physical box. and second the same box running in the back round that would be start / resume if the failure occurred on the first box?

    • (2) if the above is possible; What would be the best combination of VM ware software to achieve this?

    • (3) how powerful the 2 machines should be? (Processor, memory, Raid sets?)

    • (4) should I set up a low-cost test first; computer to familiarize myself with the concept; What is so easy that anyone can do?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, it's the best approach, if you can stick the two together for the machine that provides the storage to ensure the good performance of the GigE connections.  As far as coexisting with your other network - which greatly depends on how much traffic is currently on this network and how much things ESXi comes with the traffic.  It's a good idea to use at least one VLAN to separate, because that provides insulation not only for performance, but also for safety.

Regarding your test white box system, you will need to check some of the other positions and ESX Whitebox sites to see if this material works under ESXi.

  • [Noob questions] Model oriented programming OBJECT and event Flex

Hello, I have two very easy questions for an expert - I think.

    (1) issue-oriented object

    If I have a

    UserElement extends the Image

    UserImage extends UserElement

    UserText extends UserElement

    ...

    UserSomething extends UserElement

Each UserSomething derived from UserElement has an editElement method that can be placed in the superclass UserElement needs to look exactly because in this journal.

Now, from the root of the Application, I have to call the editElement, but I'd rather not be forced to have a giant switch inelegant structure... There is a way to dynamically cast to the right class?

    (2) issue of event model

I read the documentation and googled around, but if I have this structure

    Application

    Canvas1

    Control1

    Canvas2

    CONTROL2

and I send Control1 event, the full path is Application > Canvas1 > Control1 > Canvas1 > Application. But if I need control2 to know that this event is FAILED, the only way I see is to call a method in the Application control2. Is this correct or there is a way to redirect the event in a way to broadcast?

Thanks in advance for anyone who wants to answer

    maestro91,

Answer, no, protected Alexander is very good and I used it in this way - protected is visible to inherited classes OK.

    You should be able to:

    var r: derivedClass;

    a = new derivedClass();

    function do_something (b: baseClass)

    {

test to find out which class that I was adopted, then derived

    ((derivedClass) b) .editelement ();

above must call the correct method

    }

You must explicitly cast to ensure the right call gets shot, but you used baseClass as an argument, so you can send your derived through classes.

  • Noob question - the target RT can display its façade?

Hello everyone, I am a complete newbie to labview rt (in fact, I've not yet started) and I was wondering if a controller labview rt target, when it is configured for stand-alone operation, can use its video output. Thank you, Karel.

    Hello

You mean by output video, video of the cRIO. We have 9082 which output VGA. In this case, you can monitor the nets and the use of the CPU on a screen.

If you refer to the façade, there are ways in which you can see, but only for debugging purposes, over the long term you should not use it.

There are other techniques to transfer data from the cRIO to a computer to view the data.

In fact, there are three ways:

1 using the variables shared over the network - you can learn more here http://www.ni.com/white-paper/12176/en

    2. with the help of TCP/IP communication - read here http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3098/en
