Not showing is not great metric in dashboard

Hello

I'm probably missing something, even though I thought I followed the documentation to the letter. I want to do is display the memory consumed and physical by cluster, using two great measures.

(1) the scope of the super o:
Name: Physical memory capacity of the GVZ Cluster in the UK

sum (this resource: mem: host_provisioned) / 1048576
mem: host_provisioned = Resources: host system > memory > memory implemented (KB)

and:

Name: GVZ use total memory of Cluster (GB)
sum (this resource: mem: host_usage) / 1048576
mem: host_usage = Resources: host system > memory > use (KB)

I tested the two measures with a chart and got the results I was expecting:

Screen Shot 2015-12-31 at 01.38.09.png

(2) added an object type-> adapter vCenter = Compute Cluster resource type, which is shown as types of items as "VMware".

Screen Shot 2015-12-31 at 01.11.56.png

(3) I went in 'administration'-> policies-> political library and choose change strategy 'by default'.

(4) immediately went to the '5 Metrics vires and properties' section and filtered on my great metric and set it to 'State' = 'Local '.

Screen Shot 2015-12-31 at 01.10.43.png

(5) back to the great metric section, I can now also see the default policies tab 'Strategies '.

After that, I expect the metric Super to be available for a new dashboard. So I create a new dashboard widget list, I select the widget 'Top - N'. Go to edit the widget and click the metric, set type to 'vCenter adapter' adapter, select the subject 'Computer Cluster resource' and then find the super section metric... and unfortunately cannot see super old metric I have created once but can't remember how.

Any help would be appreciated.

SOLVED!

Used the wrong policy. Shouldn't you add it to the 'default' strategy, but in politics of vSphere.

  • Great metric not visible

I created a supermetric and added to a cluster at the bottom of the great metric page object in vrops 6.0, but it is not displayed on any cluster when I discovered the.  Is there another step I need to do?

    Thank you!

Yes, it works as expected, you will need to navigate to the policy page and enable the supermetric for Cluster objects (in this case, the supermetric apply to all Clusters) or enable all objects (in this case, the supermetric will be applied to all objects)

  • Capacity issues - information planning does not appear in the dashboard / rims reports

    Hi all

I'm still getting my head around time involved with the collection of data for projects.

I had a data manager, collection of information on approximately 200 systems in 2-3 weeks, still in the dashboard I don't see any information I want to learn.

If you look at the attached screenshots, you will see for the dashboard of the company, I have a 190 systems all in my a project for this company. Among them, only 2 have started to show that they have inventory. In data manager himself most systems already have some inventory information, but this has not filtered through the dashboard yet, apart from these two you see here.

In my summary inventory systems capture screen you can see a lot of systems that display zeros in all of the inventory. In data manager if I find the system data, I can see his stats for most servers on all sections.

    So I have two questions:

    • Should I worry that this info does not yet show after 2-3 weeks?
    • How could I go to take 3 systems in this collection and the pulling of data using custom reports? I created a separate project for these three systems, added to them, they have 2-3 weeks of data collection already, but when I run my custom reports on these systems a lot of data is empty and does not appear do not, even if these three systems have all data and performance data I need when I view on the data Manager server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Sean

It resembles a P4 dual core with hyperthreading

But yes, it seems 'normal '.  Thus, the collector operates.

Here's the thing... If you add systems to the collector and then create a data sync before the first inventory collection... you ship a bunch of zeroes on the scoreboard.

the collector will not send new data after the first synchronization, unless you use the full export option.

  • custom images do not come in the dashboard

    Hi all

based on the clarinet condition I want to show some pictures of custome. I have added these images in two places .but yet these images do not come in the dashboard while I'm able to see my images custom responses. I need to replace any other folder?

    replaced - image path

    C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\meters\arrow\tri\

    C:\OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\meters\arrow\tri

If you really want to solve your problem here quite easily, then simply place your images (.gif) in these 2 files
    OracleBI\j2ee\home\applications\analytics\analytics\res\s_oracle10\images
    OracleBI\web\app\res\s_oracle10\images
And in reports-> Images of the cell, use a custom image and call via fmap:images / abc.gif

Otherwise, if you have under your counter file, then create a custom under him folder say CompagnyImages and subfolder in image form
    follow http://obiee101.blogspot.com/2009/07/obiee-adding-custom-image-in.html
This may require some RnD which I will give you later once I have had time to replicate

    First soln will 100% work

    I hope this helps.

  • Great Metric - average of several vmnic

    Hello

Currently, I am creating a great metric for the specific workload of vmnic.

I want to associate, for example, the workload of my vmnic1, 4, 5.

I don't know how to do it on vROPS. I can create a vmnic but how to combine several values?

    Thank you for your help.

    Kind regards

    Julien.

It may be 0, because this NETWORK adapter has no load of work. He me tool 10 guests to find a host who scored a workload. If you check the host environment-> hosts and clusters-> select a host, then select the Troubleshooting tab-> all the metrics. Find the metric of the workload for the NETWORK card and double click on it and a chart will show you if there is no charge to work. This will be if there is a problem with the great metric or if the host does not have loads of work on this network adapter.

In the screenshot super 1 it shows the great metric works for nic 5. No other network cards are the workload so screenshot super 2 you can see the average of the nic 5 added to the average of the same NIC (doubling of the PIC) just change the vmnic5 to the vmnicx you want

    Here's the formula

    AVG (${, metric net =: vmnic5: use | load}) + avg (${, metric = net: vmnic5 | use | load})

  • Reference on behalf of great metric in the pop-up window of widgets (heatmap)

    Hello

I created a great metric/package and he attributed to resources and a resource type. I gave the metric super name '% use of data store '. Then, I created a heat map and set the size of the total capacity and the color by the great metric (% of use of the data store).

When you hover over one of the stores of data in terms of heat, you will get a small pop-up that describes the measures. Unfortunately the great name metric metric is not provided here. Other users who access this dashboard may wonder what this metric is trying to represent.

Now, it gives me this: Super Metric | sm_6: (color): 78.56973. This example is not that hard to guess buth, there might be cases where it is more difficult.

Can you do something about it?

    HeatMapPopUp.jpg

    Kind regards

    Erik Alm

There is no work around for the behavior you observe. The heatmap displays the key supermetric, begins with sm_ and is followed by the metric ID. Raison d'etre, the names of supermetric are handled differently in separate fields of table / as attribute names (keys).

  • Is not automatic metric

I am an engineer of network for a 2000 user environment.  We are under Windows XP SP3 one have both 100 Mbit/s Ethernet and Wi - Fi (802.11 g) in our environment.  We use the AD to get our Wireless configurations and ask them to automatically connect the value.  According to this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299540 our Ethernet cards should use a metric of 20 and our WiFi cards should get a metric of 25.  However, this is not the case.

Instead, we see that our WiFi cards are automated measures of 10 and the Ethernet connection is to get 20.  Why WiFi cards receive the incorrect metric and how we can solve this problem?  This happens on several computers at many sites.

Also, I disabled the Automatic metric and it seems to fix the problem, but it is a complex solution for 1000 laptops.

Are you using wireless cards intel? If yes I found that updating the drivers fixed that. Had the same problem. Get 10 metrics and LAN get 20 of WLAN

  • PGB CLI 6.0.0 - .aspx package does not pass Windows validation dashboard developer

There is also a related post on the forum community phonegap, but insofar as no solution. That's why I write it here as well, because at the time our deployment in the Windows store is pending.

We will have a problem when you use CLI 6.0.0 on phonegap build. The build works very well without any problems, but when we download the .aspx package in the dev.windows.com dashboard, the following errors are given (some content are vetted with *):

Invalid package name identity: 4974de88-* (expected: *)

    Invalid package name: 4974de88-* _ * (expected: *)

Invalid package Publisher name: CN = OrangeMason BV (expected: CN = *)

This package uses a display name that you have not reserved: *.

As far as I know, phonegap build do not specify the name of the identity, the family name, the name of the editor and display the name of anywhere? Or is it possible that we can define these in the config.xml file so that they are treated properly in the package?

If not, does support for this will be added in the future or how the Phonegap crew we publish our application in the Windows store otherwise wait?

By the way: when you use CLI older versions (which exports .xap), this problem does not occur. However, these CLI versions do not support Windows Phone 10.

Thank you for this comment. We have deployed a couple of bugs, here's how you need to configure your application:

Publisher name: will be set to what you have set the field in the config.xml file

Full name: will be what you have set the field in the config.xml file

Identity package name: added a new preference: windows-identity-name. get this App--> App Identity management value in the Dev Center

Package name: must be generated based on the name of the identity

Yes, as long as you have your Publisher on man ID and follows the correct values in your config.xml (sample below values) file:

    Adobe
    PhoneGap Build App

presentation should be successful. Let us know if you still see errors.

  • dbconsole does not accumulate metric of the ASM

I have an instance for which EM dbconsole does not accumulate the metrics. However, there is another instance on the same host that uses the same instance of the DSO and its dbconsole collects, correctly,

In the search for this error, I found entries in the emagent.trc on the name of user and password invalid ORA-01017: connection refused. This led to document 291763.1 who was responsible for recreating the orapwd file. I did, but it has not fixed the problem.

I'm on version 10.2.0.4. The password for the sys to the ASM instance has not changed (note that the other instance dbconsole still connect successfully without modification). I can connect as sys time internally and giving the password, so I know that the password is correct.

  • Create a great metric for virtual machines that shows how many virtual machines on the host parent

One of the properties of a virtual computer's Parent host.  I would like to pass this info on to a metric Super VM and use to gather the number of VMS are on the associated VM host Parent.   This SM would be so associated with my VMs.

    Is this possible?

    -MattG

    I found this:

    AVG (${adaptertype = VMWARE, objecttype = HostSystem, attribute is summary | total_number_vms, depth =-1})

Because I had to use a host object type I don't think he would show as a metric of Super in the scope of the VM... it does!

  • Value of the variable presentation does not appear does not correctly in the dashboard column

    Hello

I have a report that has a view of pivot, in which I want to display the average age (date-obtained variable presentation) for example. Average age of the 31.12.12.

I used 'average Age of staff |  ' @{Reporting_Date} [dd.mm.yy] {31.12.12}' as the formula column and compound eyes, the report shows the desired result.

But when the report is on the dashboard, it shows the average age to 31.00.12.

Is this a bug or is there other settings I need to do? I use OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0.

    Thank you.

    Jeby

Worked by changing just the text format.

    "Average age of staff |  ' @{Reporting_Date} [JJ. MM.yy] {31.12.12}'

    Hi Barry -.

If the dashboard in question was created with WCF (our Framework Web component that is included with the product), then using the tab design inspecting dashboard design suggested Bart is a good. WCF dashboard get much of their data by querying the Foglight data model so once you are in the editor of WCF, change views to queries drop-down list and see what queries can exist in this module WCF. Test if you find to make sure they return data. Also change the functions drop-down list and see if you can test as well.

    I hope this helps.
