  Make sure that the text is on. You can do this on the keyboard (if you have several) by pressing and holding down the button to change between them.

  Windows 8 has an icon to be displayed when a new message is received?  Visual or sound if all goes well.

  If you use the built in-app email, on your splash screen, you will see an e-mail icon (tile) that will tell you when you have new messages.  You can also set your e-mail options to display a popup alert when new e-mail is received (the popup appears for about 10 seconds at the top of the screen).

  Remember that you don't have to use the built-in email program.   You can continue to use the e-mail program, you used before that you have Windows 8, it would be still the same work for you (for example, showing a send icon near the clock on the taskbar).  If you don't remember what e-mail program, you have used before, let me suggest the Windows Essentials free e-mail program.

  I got more than 5500 email in my Inbox, finally I got the message that there is not enough space dick. I made a new folder under Archives for 2014 and 3400 emails moved there. I've deleted countless others and emptied the trash on all my emails. It left in the Inbox of 1979 and download any new messages.

  I've been bitten twice, losing a response that I wrote on my RT Surface because I assume that my right thumb hitting the delete button in the upper right corner instead of the Send button.  On outlook.com, if you tap on Delete on a reply or new message, ask you if you want to clear or save a draft.  It seems that the Mail app should do it as well.  The indication only subtle that you get that mail has not been sent, but in fact deleted, is that the message comes alive to the bottom of the screen instead of to the top.  Of course, even if you notice is removed you have no recourse. The response/new message has disappeared. Does not even appear in your deleted folder.  This should really be fixed.

  E-mail messages are downloaded to the Inbox e-mail account.

  The Inbox must be low or even empty number e-mail. The Inbox has been designed as an Inbox for mail and must therefore be used for this purpose read mail must be moved to a folder that is appropriate for the storage or deletion.

  If you have e-mail in the Inbox folder, and then move the appropriate folders.

  In the e-mail Pop accounts, emails are downloaded and stored in a single mbox file, one email after another in the order they have been downloaded. I choose to leave them on the server for 30 days, so that between and regular backups on the server, I can retrieve all emails in case of problems.

• After you create a new signature I am now not answer you or missing Type new message email AND elements in signatures

  at the beginning it was just the logo appears not, now all this a bit weird and when I try and type a message get them all are RED squiggles (like this BUT without the letters until you spend top (fksdjsjhksjdkjdll; dl ;))

  This problem started after I downloaded the 4.1.57 update yesterday.
  My phone is sound and I start noticing that my video audio text was no more. I checked to make sure if the same was for when people call me, and there was no problem there. My ringer turn off again no problem when I get a call, just no sound when a text/email is sent to me.
  And also my phone vibrates when I get a text as well. It starts to vibrate for a call and other applications, simply do not notify me when I receive a text.
  I tried to play with the settings and had no luck fixing it.

  Any ideas?

  Open the messaging app and select "menu" + "E-mail settings" and "SMS". There, ensure that there is a tick next to "vibrate". Hope this helps
