  Need to know a little more to help - what kind of error message you get when it crashes? Look in the Console application and select 'All Messages', and note what kind of new messages appear when you try to run iPhoto.

• MBP is overheating and I have to restart several times per day

  My MBP is overheating, slowing to a crawl, and I have to restart several times a day (which may or may not help the issue).

  The machine is:

  MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, end of 2013)

  2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

  DDR3 4 GB 1600 MHz

  No expandable RAM (which is beyond me why they would make a non-expandable machine. I discovered after I bought it).

  During the day I am running:

  Mail application (with very complete box - this might be a contributing factor? Can I archive the emails registered)

  Safari (with different tabs open, sometimes a lot sometimes just)

  Messages

  EverNote

  Chrome (with different tabs open, sometimes a lot sometimes just)

  ... and from time to time, but not always:

  I'm not game. I'm not streaming video. After a few hours of use, several times a day (often 2-4 times just one afternoon) the machine slows to a crawl and I reboot, which may or may not solve the problem of the speed and the heat.

  I ran the activity monitor utility, and there are applications that I do not sometimes recognize using 11 to 18% of CPU (bird and soangent). Anyone know what here?

  Bird and soagent are the normal processes of Apple. Bird is one of the procedures used with the synchronize documents iCloud. soagent is used in conjunction with the Messages. In normal circumstances or will require an excessive amount of time processor. If you use Messages with a Google or other account not Apple (in other words, not exclusively iCloud) poor performance could be correlated with these accounts.

  In any event 11-18% seems a bit much for me. Try to uninstall Evernote as well as all Google products. Or the other could possibly conflict with push social agent and / or document the Apple process synchronization. Google is disinterested or impossible to implement effective OS X apps.

  Try to remove all accounts non - Apple Messages, but also completely remove Google from your Mac. You can always reinstall it and Evernote once again after a repair. Your data Google and Evernote is stored on their servers. Back up your Mac in any case, as a precaution.

  Perhaps. "Comprehensive" is relative. Some people keep dozens or even hundreds of thousands of e-mail messages. The practical limits of some Mail are, I don't know.

  4 GB is perfectly adequate to run El Cap on a MBP of the retina. It would be premature to suspect material deficiencies, but products Google will introduce a new Mac, regardless of its configuration.

  Run Apple Hardware Test to confirm that your exhaust fan MBP works normally. Apple Hardware Test is for Macs produced before June 2013. Later Macs use Apple Diagnostics.

• ScanDisk restarted several times on Windows ME

  Whenever I run ScanDisk on my computer, I get an error message that says it has restarted 10 times. I already tried the following:

  • Restart in Mode safe
  • Disable the screen saver and wallpaper
  • Close all active programs in the Task Manager

  I do not have a floppy disk, so I can't create a recovery disk. Can someone please help? Thank you.

  This is a common problem in Windows Millennium Edition.  Safe mode is the best place to run it, but you need to keep "continue" on the message that you get on this restart.  The only other option is to get a floppy disk you can boot into DOS mode in real time.

  Or move on to Windows NT :)

  During the 1st job execution and job B end successfully, but on the 2nd round; When work is stuck on waiting on dependencies that makes job B also to be stuck on waiting on dependencies.

  I could see A start-up hourly employment, but he is still waiting on Sependencies even though I could see that the file is moved to the entrance of the B post successfully.

  I think that the result would be the same, because employment B has a variable dependency AND dependency on A task. While variable dependence could be achieved, but the job has almost immediately passes completed normally expect on Addictions - it may be not enough time for job B detect this normal completion status.

  How about you, leaving falling dependence on A job and just use the variable dependence?

  First of all, I have an Acer Aspire 571 V3. It came with windows 8. I have had the laptop for over 2 years now and the problem seems to be getting worse. Everything worked perfectly for the first year and I only started experiences issues once I switched to Windows 8.1.  After several accidents every week, I decided to reset my laptop to factory settings, so I can return to Windows 8. Turns out, that Windows 8.1 was not the problem because they continued to occur on 8 institutions. A year of this point and I have twice now reset my laptop but the problem has not disappeared. I made sure it wasn't a virus as well since I only downloaded the bare minimum, I need for my daily activities that revolve around google chrome and meeting places.

  I also met another problem. Since the update of Windows 10 is the corner of the street, I tried updating to 8.1 again and I could book 10 Windows. But the problem now is that I can not install this update. After a long installation, I got an error (0x7007001F - 0 x 30018).

  There is a hardware problem with the HD.  I would go to the preparer hd > download and run their utility disk check

  Thanks for the replies folks. I solved the problem by renaming the Mozilla Firefox folder like old Mozilla Firefox, and then return to add/remove programs to remove the element that resembled an installation program. I thn restarted the PC and reinstalled Firefox 17 from scratch. It worked perfectly. The user favorites are still maintained.

• Limited connectivity or none - don't need to fix wireless several times before, it connects to a non-APIPA address

  On the DSL home network, I have a hard time with the connection from my laptop Windows XP Pro SP 3 to Westell A90 modem.  Attempts to connect result in messages "limited or no connectivity" with postings from IP starting with 169.254.  If I use Windows to repair the connection, is finally connected to my home network using the default address 198.168.1.1 & DHCP server.  I don't have this problem on any other network (WiFi hotspots, etc.).  No other phones don't have this problem at home.  Any ideas?

• Windows keeps asking me to reactivate what I did several times this week, how can I stop this from happening

  Apart from contacting the technical support team, is there something I can do to stop this problem of reactivation to reappear every week or two, it starts getting a little tired, I re-enabled now my copy of windows xp on three different occasions in recent weeks, I think that it all started going wrong when I changed the dvd player , for writing/dvd player and it just read, so I changed to the original and responsive drive my copy of XP, everything went well for about a week, then the activation window started.

  Where exactly are you having problems?

  When you click the copy button that the report is copied to your Clipboard (hidden) - folder you won't see anything happen except maybe the copy button flashes once.

  Then return to your answer here and in the answer box, made a right click, it should bring a list of options - click on paste.

  That's all there is to it.

  I upgraded to MacOS Sierra recently, since then, my Mac Mini must start 5 times before it actually starts.

  It starts and restarts in the middle of the boot process, 4 times.

  Why?

  I have experienced a similar curiosity, but often with messing around on a Linux partition.
