    Hello world

I have an old white MacBook4, 1 with a set training camp up with Windows XP. We have this used to work as a trainee computer to access a database program that we use on our windows machines. I was clearing off the power the computer of the personal files of different users over the years and when I went to boot into Windows, it gave me a NTLDR is missing. I did not touch anything in the score and try to check/repair disk from disk utility said that everything goes well on this score. I get a message from says:

    NTLDR is missing

    Press any key to restart

I can't press any key to reboot as it does not recognize anything and so I have to force off via the power button. I don't have any external drives or devices connected and nothing in the drawer.

I've seen various responses here but none suited to my needs.

I don't have a copy of the old disk to install XP either, so I really hope there are a few simple difficulty on this point that I'm just not. Please let me know if you need more information

You will need a Windows XP Home edition disc to run the Startup Repair tool.

  • Computer won't be starting until... NTLDR

I was trying to make room on my computer (it is a HP Pavilion 750n) and thought that I only deleted normal things like word documents, but when I rebooted, I realized that I must have deleted more than I thought... Now, I push the power button, and it says NTLDR not found: press Control Alt Delete to continue. I did as he said and he repeats just the same thing over and over again. I have not a reboot either drive since my father gave me the computer and he lives in Florida. Any suggestions?

I just wanted to say thank you, but after spending a whole night and all day after trying to use the recovery discs (which I was able to find thank God!) I finally could get any operational return! Thank you very much for your good advice!  =)

Oh and just for you tell what I ended up doing: at first it wouldn't let me run the recovery CD, I went into the Setup menu (F1 while the computer tries to start) and had to change the boot settings to boot from the recovery disks. Once the disks have been made, I had to reboot the computer, but before that let him do Windows, I had to change the parameters of start back to their original settings. I saved and restarted. Everything seems to work great so far, so I hope that everything is fixed! Again, thank you for your time and your answer! I hope this helps others as well!

  • SP A60: 'ntldr is missing' - all the possible passwords rejected in recovery console

    Hello

My computer (Satellite Pro A60) 'crashed': 'ntldr is missing '.

Looking for a solution found, but can't get into the recovery console (absolutely necessary to assign orders to restore the ntldr and ntdetect files).
(I don't want to reinstall by fear of data loss).

Each password possible is being refused: the computer has three users with administrator rights, I know that all three of them, I tried to 'Enter', 'Del', '1234', '11111', ' 0' 'admin', 'administrator', 'administrator' (this is a version in French), changed between QWERTY and Azerty... (I tried all possible suggestions on the Internet all for one, I went, I wrote to... - Why can't I enter in the console?)
It must be Toshiba who has installed Windows XP Pro, so with what administrator password?

    Thanks for your feedback!

(Sorry, posted this message in the series 'Satellite' too.)

Are you running a NTFS file system? If you use fat32, then you can use a standard bootdisk and then run the command fdisk /mbr. that may solve your problem. Otherwise, you will need to use the recovery console. The password is defined when setting up the machine and is not defined by Toshiba I can guarantee that. This will be the password defined for the administrator when you ran through the initial Setup screen that is accepted the EUL

  • Satellite Pro 4300: error - NTLDR missing

    Hi all

I have an old Satellite Pro 4360, P3 700 mhz.
I'm trying to upgrade the Bios to install Ubuntu Linux.

However, by following the instructions on the download of Toshiba Bios, IE change the boot sequence for the floppy drive with the disc in the drive that contains the update files, I can't update and just got the message:

    NTLDR missing

    Someone help with this?

Also, when I try to run the live CD, after changing the boot sequence in the CD-ROM, I get no response and the computer continues to boot from the disk with Windows 2000 Pro?

    Someone help with this?

    Hello

"NTLDR is missing" usually means that the "NT Loader" of an operating system with the kernel NT or NT-technology cannot start the operating system. (Such system NT could be Win NT, Win XP or Win 200o)

But it s strange when a drive reports an error message. What was on the disk before? Was the drive some disk before starting? If so, then proceed as follows:

Format the drive in Windows 2000 with the option to make a disk and copy the files from the BIOS on this subject. Then boot from the disk and update your BIOS. Ususally it should work.

Please give a few comments if you managed...

    Welcome them

  • Tecra A2 - message "NTLDR is missing".

    Hi all.
My Tecra A2 has been left uncharged for about 12 months until yesterday when I fully loaded.
When I turned on I have the Toshiba screen, then Cmos settings should be corrected.
After the time and date setting, he went straight to NTLDR is missing.
    Any ideas?

    Hey,.

First of all, make sure that your laptop is trying to boot from the HARD drive. Check again the BIOS options and internal HARD drive as first boot device.

If this doesn t it s something wrong with the sector of boot and in this case, you need to reinstall Windows. :(

  • Satellite A200-1AX (PSAE6) NTLDR missing after backup retoring

Hello my computer toshiba laptop A200-1AX (PSAE6) it came with Vista pre installed but I installed windows xp on it.
Everything went well and I used acronis true image 11 home to perform a backup.

Yesterday I tried to change my driver letter, and he told me that I can not change the letter.
Then when I rebooted after awhile my windows would be stuck on the Welcome screen... then I tried to restore the backup with acronis bootable media... after the restore is completed and tried to boot, I have ntldr missing :(

What has gone wrong? Can I register my cell phone from another format?

Don t think that it would be able to solve this problem without reinstallation of the OS.

Read some reviews on the missing NTLDR to error and one of the guys here in the forum found a solution to unlock the HARD drive and install XP:

    Hello

If it of not possible to restore the operating system of the Toshiba CD recovery if the HARD drive or only the partition is damaged or corrupted.
According to Microsoft description message Setupdd.sys could not be loaded. 4 error code may occur if your computer contains a material that is damaged or is not compatible with Windows XP.

    Ezaz

    Hi ezaz.
It takes a little bit more information to help you.
-What operating system do you use?
-What did you remove when a new partition?
-What tool do you use for this?
If you run XP try this:
-run the recovery console and make "fixmbr" and "fixboot", this should make your system running...

BTW: If you remove a sort of "recovery partition", it can happen...

  • Satellite 1410 - NTLDR missing

My brother gave me his notebook to watch as it will not start. Although initially, it came with XP Home, it has since been upgraded to Professional and has worked well for about 12 months.

Cannot do a lot with the laptop because it constantly gives me the message NTLDR lack. At took the laptop and in 2.5 HARD drive "caddy to verify content using my home computer and I noticed that the HARD drive was empty. Reformatted to NTFS HARD drive and reinstalled back to laptop.

Changed BIOS to boot from the CD and tried reinstalling XP Professional but to halfway through the installation, it will fail with a BSOD. Several attempts have been made to install XP and have reformat using NTFS. installation goes as far as creating the \WINDOWS folder but it freezes or gives me a BSOD.

Not sure if there is a defective HARD drive or RAM or something.

    An advise please

If possible, try to get the new HARD disk and repeat the installation of the OS. I also recommend you to use a tool to check if the HARD drive has bad sectors. It is really not easy to say what the problem is here, but I assume that there is something wrong with the HARD drive.

If connected as external device can you copy or delete files to it as usual?

By the way: check this http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000465.htm

  • Portege 3440CT reinstalling the operating system and error NTLDR

    Hi all

I have a Portege 3400 I picked up a few years ago when starting a business. The machine was made by many, and it no longer starts. I want to reinstall the OS - the only problem is that I don't have the original CD Rom drive that came with the unit. I have a portable CD player that I can plug into the USB port of the adapter, but during the taking of a boot device, it is not yet trying to look for the CD player and immediately gives me an NTLDR error.

The only option for the boot device which does not give me the same error is when I take the network (Lan), but I have no idea how to do to set up my local network so I can use it as a source for the reinstallation of the operating system.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you

The error NTLDR says that your device or disk is not bootable. What OS did you use? I know that Windows NT doesn't support USB.

    Hello

    > How can I activate the laptop to boot from usb memory flash with source of windows 7
    I think that's not the MAN of functions;
I m not 100% sure, but I think that this BIOS does not support booting from SD card reader.
But why you don t try to boot from the CD/DVD drive?

If I understand your question, the external LCD is recognized correctly.
Go into the BIOS and set the external monitor as the primary monitor.
Then, you should be able to see everything.
