    Hi JordanWinkelman,

Your question of Windows 7 is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the IT Pro TechNet public.

  • I have problems connecting to the remote desktop on Windows Server 2008.

I have many positions of work XP trying to connect to our servers to Server 2008 Remote Desktop, but get the message, "because of a security error, the client could not connect to the remote computer".

When I check the version of remote desktop it uses, it is 5.2.3790 in program Files\Remote Desktop

Now, if I go to Windows\System32, I find mstsc.exe and can connect to the same server perfectly.  But if I go to save the connection, RD is up to version 5.2.

How can I remove the old version and just use the newest one?

    Thank you.

    CAN ANYONE HELP?

    Hi Mordi26:

This could be because windows server 2003 is not updated with the latest version of the Terminal Server client. With terminal services client 6.0 update... It should solve the problem. Here is the link to download:

  • Pavilion p6110t CTO Desktop: drivers for Windows Server 2008 and HARD drive problems

Recently, I had the hard drive with my OS failure. After replacing the hard drive and reinstall windows server 2008, I seem to have encountered some problems with drivers.  After insalling Windows, I had 3 items in my device manager that not have installed correctly. I could get the driver for the LAN port to work, but I did not get the driver to "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" and "SM Bus controller". After a little research, I believe that the graphics card is a Radeon HD4350. With this information, I still have been unable to toinstlal the correct drivers or the other of these elements. I tried several drivers listed on the support page of the drivers on the HP website, but all fo return them the same error of not finding the right operating system. The link to the driver, I used initially on my previous installation seems is no longer valid.

Also, I can't access two additoinal hard disks (sata connected). They were used with the previous installation of windows without any problem. They appear in the Device Manager but do not show in my computer. A removable disk appears that I don't know what it is. Previously I used the software to mirror one of the disks on the other in order to avoid the loss of data if a disk fails. Is one of the above players with not be able to access the drives causing the problem or the software used before the problem?

Any help on these questions is greatly appreciated.

    Ok.

I can't help you with the readers then.  It is out of my area of knowledge.  If they are healthy and active in the disk management utility, then that's all that I know these should be reported.

    As for the graphics drivers...

Download and install this free utility for files.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

After installing 7 - zip, right-click on the graphic driver file and select 7 - zip from the list of options.

Choose 7-zip to extract to: and leave it to unzip the file in a folder.  I have it extracted the file name of the file.

Then just follow the rest of my instructions to install the driver.

Of course that you you first go to where 7 - zip extract the folder and continue from there.

  • Can I connect using Remote Desktop to Windows 7 Pro to Windows XP Pro?

    Original title: Remote Desktop

can I connect to a windows 7 pro is a windows xp pro?

Yes you can, please try the following:

1 right-click 'Computer' and select 'Properties' (or open 'Control panel' and select 'System')

    2. click on "Remote settings" in the upper left corner of the window
    3. on the "Remote" tab, select "allow connections to this computer remotely.

    4. make sure that you uncheck "Allow only the connection of computers running Office remotely with level (recommended) network authentication" as I'm sure that XP does not support this.

    I hope this helps.

Please let me know how you go with this

  • How to connect to my server windows server 2008 and make my computer a workstation?

I got a new windows 7 computer pro to replace my old windows xp computer. I used the Windows easy transfer tool to move files from my old computer to the new. The old computer is still connected at the moment. I named the computer of the same name and the same password. I did an upgrade from xp to windows 7 on another computer, and it seems to work very well using the same process. It connected automatically to the server. I really want to do when the computer is just a workstation on the network, and anyone can sign any name and password. How can I do?

It seems that your computer is currently connected to a domain. If it is used in a business environment, you do not have the privilege of setting upward as you wish using the mode of working group due to the policies implemented by the network administrator.

If you have the option of logging to a local account, it's how you do it:

    Type: MACHINE NAME\Username

    then enter your password.

How to find the name of your computer:

Click Start, right click on computer

    Click on properties

Go to the section name parameters, by domain and workgroup of the computer

  • Desktop remote access simultaneously in windows with multiple session in Windows Server 2008 support?

I would like to have a remote desktop solution that allows me to connect to remote computers even while users are connected, with the help of another session. The idea is that the user working locally in the remote system can function normally undisturbed by the remote user.

I have tried TightVNC , but I couldn't understand how to enter an independent session.

I am using Windows Server 2008 and I want two users access to the server with two different sessions as remote users.
