Numbered lists... Need a line gap between list items

Hello. Here's my problem. I use 7 HR. When I use the numbered list feature, there are no blank lines between list items. I think that to look sloppy. I can simulate it by pressing SHIFT ENTER after each line item. Who gives a fine appearance and translated very well to help on the Web, but when I generate my file Word of him, it ends up being an extra line between line items. I guess it's because Word uses its numbered list function, which is to skip lines. He added also that < BR > HR.

.... I guess I just a need to know how to use HR to generate lists the way I want it, or I need to know how to configure word do not skip lines between list items, so that way it will be just skip a line due to this < BR > in the HTML code.

I have a feeling that it's simple, but I'm lost.

Thank you

When you change the style of lists, you change the OL and UL tags. So in theory, what you do with this style applies to the list as a whole, and not to list items.

Colum spoke on the creation of a new "other" style (or maybe a paragraph style, but the list items aren't paragraphs, if HR tags like that). Then, while remaining in the Styles dialog box, you would go to Format > bullets and numbers, then select the numbering you want. Format > paragraph, insert a value into the box after to get your space between list items.

Then apply this new style to your list items.

  • cfform/cfinclude causing the unsightly gap between the tables

    I'm working through a problem that I have a cfform/cfinclude statement causing a gap between menu items. I inherited to support this site and I didn't design it. It was designed using tables to create the layout and navigation that are implemented using cfincludes menus. Here is an example of the problem (code included below). There is a gap between the horizontal menu that starts by contacting us and left navigation menu which starts by find a State Park.

    When I move the cfform tags while they are inside the table tags, the gap goes away, but then my user that modifies the content through Contribute, has a problem with text being pushed far down and to the right, making it difficult for her to change. I tried to move the tags in a variety of ways, and each of them is causing the gap or push the text down to the right in the design editor.

    We do not have the resources to put me in time that is needed to actually solve this problem by getting rid of the layout of the table and moving the CSS layout, because this problem appears on more than a hundred pages (which many have a fairly consistent coding for me just do a successful search and replace). I would fix - rather - straight, but I can't.

    I had reason to conclude that there is no way to stop the cfform tag to put a space between the table tags?

    Tag, or in your css file add

    Weird. I tried both of those in front, but apparently I didn't was not put it in the right places because put the style in the tag worked a treat. Thank you very much.

  • Hide the number in a numbered list (or to put on its own line)

    I am writing a document with headers that are numbered and come from the four levels of depth. There are six cases of the title of level 1. I would like to format it as a number with two digits (e.g. 01), then a horizontal rule, then the header text.

    I imagine that there are two options:

    1. Insert a new line somehow between the number and the heading text, and then apply a rule and shift so it lies between the number and the text. The problems I meet here are that I can't seem to add a new line between the number and the text and that when I change the format of the number 01, 02, etc, it also changes for level 2 headers (which I don't).
    2. Hide the number on the list, and then add the number as text and the appropriate format. The problem I have here, is that when I change the paragraph style (bullets and numbers-> Style of numbering-> number of virgins, it messes up my level two lists later (all first everyone start correctly with 1 (1.1, 1.2, etc.), but those in sections 2-6, all start with 0 and do not reset properly (which should be 2.1 is 0.6 after the end of article 1 to 1.5).))

    In the end, I want to see something like:

    I came with two possible approaches.

    First is to create the paragraph style title with a rule above and set the vertical offset to move under the first line and set the column width and add dashes left and right to refine the rule. You need to add the line breeze then manually or using find/replace to force the text to the line under the number.

    Better, in my view, is to set up the position that the two paragraphs, the first vacuum, but established the list of numbers with the following style set to a paragraph style that you use for the title of chaperones itself and which in turn the value style following the level 2 header. Together as the two first styles aligned Center and do something similar to above the rule, but I would use the following rule in this case.

    For a numbers level, you want to add the 0 in front of the marker number indicates rather than as part of the style number (this will only work if you have topics 9 or less) but the removal of level 2 and low styles, and for level 1, you must also remove any punctuation or white space after the number so the rating 0 ^ # only.

  • Why numbered lists will not continue between the documents in a book?

    Dear community InDesign,

    I am nearing completion of a volume of 1100 page, organized in book form in ID CS6 (OS X) composed of about 15 different documents. According to the excellent orientation in those discussions, I used a paragraph style to generate via the numbered lists figure captions.

    For some reason, numbered lists restart between sequential in the book chapters, while I need them to continue between the blocks specified documents. Please note that I already have:

    1. Define continues numbered lists from previous documents
    2. Go to Type > > bulleted and numbered lists > > define lists > > edit list to verify that 'continue Document numbers in previous book' is checked
    3. Synchronize all documents in the book and updated the numbering via the book panel
    4. Read a lot of discussion on this site to try to locate this problem without success (but if you have a lead, I'm more excited to see)

    Any suggestions would be welcome; I put things up through the proverbial book, and it seems that simply check the box "Numbers continue" should be enough, but it isn't.

    Thanks a lot for your help.

    S.

    There is a Update Page and Section numbers - and there is also an "update chapter and paragraph numbers.

    Thing is to check that the numbering is set to follow the previous book - and then refresh the chapter and the numbering of the paragraphs.

    Which solves the problem?

  • Is it possible to convert the standard numbered list to the list that appears on the same line a right after another? As indicated in 1. Text goes here, 2. Text goes here, 3. Insert text here

    Is it possible to convert the standard numbered list to the list that appears on the same line a right after another?

    Instead

    1. Insert text here
    2. Insert text here
    3. Insert text here

    This

    1 text goes here, 2. Text goes here, 3. The text here.

    This revised list can take multiple lines.

    I use InDesign CC2014 - if that makes a difference.

    the only way is to convert numbered in the text (select numbered list > ctrl (or right click) > bulleted & numbered lists > convert numbered text).

    Then, with search - replace, you can change the paragraph returns in space (or in space by commas as in your example)

    Please, help us help you. Better, we can help with problems of this type if you reproduce the problem on apex.oracle.com, and you say what browser (s) and version (s) you use. This allows us to see what you see.

    Theme 23 is clearly identified as using HTML5 and CSS3. Why do you perceive an obligation to use HTML5 and CSS3? Only the latest browsers support a significant number of these features. If you and your users do not use a browser version that supports HTML5 and CSS3 used in the 23 theme features then there may be problems [1]. Essentially, this means that there is no advantage to using this theme if you do not use Safari 5, an updated version of Chrome, Firefox 4 +, Opera 11 or (maybe) IE9.

    Look in Firefox 3.5.7 and IE7 (all I have available at this place) CSS rule:

    table.formlayout td select.selectlist {
      margin: 6px 0 7px;
    }

    seems to be the cause of the problem. It's decidedly not CSS3, and I see no reason for this except that it is intentional that selection lists would be offset by white space more that the other controls on a form. No idea why this would be the case. (I would like to see in modern browsers more just to see if there is any substance CSS3 with this going on...)

    This extra space can be eliminated by substituting the rule later in the cascade:

    table.formlayout td select.selectlist {
      margin: 0;
    }

    [1] not the least of which is that we don't know exactly what features HTML5 and CSS3 23 theme uses.

  • Numbered list

    Numbered lists are driving me crazy. I tried to adjust the spacing between each item in the list and its very hard, it seems. If you make a paragraph style, it seems that he either wants them all be linked to a master list, where if you have a say on the first page with list 1,2,3 items even if you make a list of ten pages later it would begin with 4,5,6.

    If I Edit Mode: ' start in ' field 1, all list items go 1,1,1 and not incriment.

    Screen Shot 2013-10-22 at 9.12.10 AM.png

    Is there a way to get around this without having to define a new style / list for each list that I want to do? I'm busy, so it would sometimes be 100 or so a cookbook lists, seems a little crazy to make one for each I think.

    I just found a way around it. I did a paragraph style to the point list with the spacing I wanted. If I request that before I hit the numbered list, it keeps the spacing I want. Kind of a hack, but it works.

    Is it possible to better manage numbered lists?

    where if you have a say on the first page with list 1,2,3 items even if you make a list of ten pages later it would begin with 4,5,6.

    Place the text cursor on the line of the list (for example number 4), and the mouse, right click, then select >restart numbering

    I can send the project if necessary because it contains nothing of any value.

    There will always be a difference between the way in which the display lists in the browser and in the press, because different browsers may very well have differences.

    When you create a PDF file, behind the scenes a Word document is created, then PDF would be and ransacked. Word lists will be different.

    The options are to accept the difference, as long as both are acceptable or generate term first, that twist and then PDF.

    It has more on this subject in my pages of printed documents. RH8 also lets you specify a CSS different when the production of printed materials and use may allow you to play with the definitions to get what you want.

  • Numbered list font size inconsistency

    Hey all the...

    Have setup a paragraph numbered list in my CSS style, which works very well in the flow of the standard page. However, he gets jacked-up when I include a table style... In WYSIWYG mode, generated automatically numbers the same size that the text of real body, but when I generate a preview/finished product, the size of the real number is larger than the body of the text (for example, the number is 12 pt, or so the body of the text remains to his set 10 pt). I used to have a fix for this by manually editing the HTML code, but I can't seem to get that to work... or at least I don't know where I need to put the font size tag in the HTML code.

    Any suggestions? (And sorry if this is a repeat question, but nothing comes looking for the forum).

    Thank you very much

    -Vern

    I'm pretty sure that HTML uses BODY settings for things like the numbers of the list by default.

    However, allow me to does not recommend the use of styles for lists of numbers and the ball. The output can be risky, as you have seen and gets even worse when you generate printed Doc. There have been many threads in this forum about this. Simply empty styles, select content for list items and click on HR list toolbar icons.

    If you absolutely must do the styles, you can try the 'descendant selectors' implementation in the .css file. If you, for example, create a style like TR OL {blah - blah styles}, each OL nested TR tags opening / closing gets this style (even if you have some content intro surrounded by P tags between TR and OL tags). If you want to make sure that this style only applies if nothing separates the TR and OL tags, you can configure a "direct child selector" like TR > OL {blah - blah styles}.

    Good luck

  • How to create a numbered list continues?

    Hello

    I would like to know how to create a continuous numbered list. I mean, a list where each issue begins on the same line as the previous one, instead of from the next line.

    Thanks in advance!

    Paula

    Create a paragraph style that increases the number in the list section and bullets.

    Define a list for it.

    Set a different styles of paragraph based on the other model to start with 1 and following the precedent.

    Select all the paragraphs, right-click on the style with number 1 and apply cela and style according to.

    Or what you want on a single line: create a paragraph style with the numbers of the car, nothing else. Create a text frame entry '. "and copy this image to the Clipboard and paste it everywhere, you want to find the number. Optimize the size of this small frame. Reference grid could help align them.

  • How can I change the default numbered list formatting?

    I started a new project HR 10 and every time I turn a paragraph in a numbered list by clicking the numbering on the toolbar button, the font is changed to Arial. I need it to match my Normal style.

    In all other HR projects if I click the numbering button, it creates the list but does not change the rest of the formatting. What is going on?

    I looked in help, but he tells me that I need to define a new style etc etc. I've never done this before so am rather confused.

    Is it possible to change the formatting of a list numbered according to my Normal style so I can just click the toolbar button to convert a paragraph in list?

    It is probably because the body tag is set to Arial.

    Normal is equivalent to a p tag, while lists are ul/ol/li tags and will inherit the police body, unless configured otherwise.

    If you have two options for editing the style sheet in the editor of HR (double-click on the style sheet):

    1. You might change others > lists to your fonts.
    2. You might change others > background + text (BODY) to your fonts. With this option, all your text should use this font, unless you set a different font for a specific style (for example, the headings).

    If you change the background + text (BODY), you could edit your style sheet in a text editor and remove the entry from the family of police for the p tag, but it depends on how comfortable you are with css.
