  I have problems to start my computer. It goes to a page of startup repair is unable to repair itself  I find myself restore to the factory settings and it takes several tries, but eventually starts.  Here is the report that is displayed.  I can provide more information if necessary.

• Bench memory not installed - start question

  I have a Pavilion a6242n running Vista Home Premium.  A few months ago, it got to where I had to try several times to get the computer to boot when I turned it on (come to lights and fans on so I decided is was not a power supply problem).  I had to try many times more until he finally wouldn't start at all.  After reading a suggestion in this forum, I decided to remove the RAM sticks one at a time to see if it was my problem.  He initialized right upward when I removed the first stick.  The motherboard has 4 slots for RAM & came with a 512 MB stick in each of the first 2 slots (black) and a stick of 1 GB each of the 2nd 2 slots (blue) for a total of 3 GB.  Realizing that I'd get all the benefits of 4 GB of memory running Vista 32-bit, I always bought 2 sticks of 1 GB (240 pin DDR2, unbuffered PC2 5300 memory) Crucial since it was only $ 5 more than 2-512 sticks. I installed the new clubs in the 1st 2 slots.  Since then, the computer has started occasionally (not every time), but never stays on for more than an hour without a future BSOD.  I tried reseating the memory sticks and move the original 1 GB sticks to the first 2 slots.  At any given time while I move the sticks & them relocation several times, I can smell a burning smell.  Through troubleshooting, I decided that maybe the hard drive was bad, so I replaced that as well.  Since the departure of memory and any sticks I have where the installer has not recognized the first Bank of memory.  He says always "not installed".  Banks of memory 2-4 always show properly 1 GB of memory in each.  I tried to reset the bios by removing and replacing the battery on the MB and reset jumpers.

  My question is this: this machine is able to start properly without the first Bank of memory?  I came to the conclusion that it is bad because it is not recognized not matter what memory is there.  May dispense with the extra memory, I don't know if I should spend more time and money trying to save this machine.  The crack can be repaired or replaced if it is a necessity for appropriate start?  I decided that if the motherboard needs to be replaced, I will buy a new computer.

  In response to your questions, it sounds like the first Bank location memory is dead and it is probably not useful, both financially or in practice, for repair - you would probably find that a new motherboard is cheaper anyway.

  If the computer starts ok without this slot being usable, it might well continue to work for a while yet - I had a PC with a dead memory slot that lasted another 2 years!  However, if it is continually starts giving a BSOD on a regular basis, you would be wise to consider a new PC.

• Computer laptop HP G60 after start questions

  I hope that one of the experts are able to help with my problem.

  Laptop is about 4 years old.  It starts normally but then frozen until I made a forced stop.  When restarting it says Windows does not start and I need to perform a startup repair.

  Like others, I had a list of options, including a complete system restore, but I don't want to do this without exploring all the options.  I tried to restore to a different point, but it does not work.

  Finished the Startup Repair and it said to restart... didn't work.  Done this 5 times with the same result.

  I read another post to enter the Bios and test on the memory and the hard drive:

  4 years is probably somewhere near the life expectancy of a mechanical HARD drive, but there is no hard and fast - rule some may fail much sooner, while others may still be Ok 8 years +.

  As long as the HARD drive has not failed completely, here are some options that you can try to recover your data.

  1. one possible way to try to recover your files from a disk non-boot is to follow the process described in the link below.  The CD of the Ubuntu operating system you create can launched from the CD alone (IE it doesn't have to be installed on the hard drive) and I've often found to successfully extract data even a hard failure.  When you created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can save your existing files.

  2 another option would be to remove the drive HARD, place it in an external enclosure - is an example of the link below - connect to another PC and see if you can access your files.

  Regarding replacing the HDD - the reader at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

  It does not resemble HP stock still the recovery media for your laptop, but it's always worth calling them just in case where - contact HP here.

• Windows 7 starts questions about mac and office 2010 following an installation

  It's a long cut as short as vent. I've been miss sold a record of upgrade of windows 8 full disk-shaped, with norton and office 2010. My goal of creating windows on my mac for a course I'm taking. After that know I need windows 7, I bought it online. I created a partition of 80g on my mac charge windows 7, then norton. Until I loaded the office that I was invited to perform the update from apple in the windows software 7. Note before I installed norton, I load boot camp mac utilities according to the instructions. So, followed by all as should be. The prompt update from apple was quick time, iTunes and airport, I checked all and then updated. Then I loaded office 2010 and obtained throughout the process from the Microsoft site. On the last part of the installation, the installation failed due to a mistake of hanging iTunes. I tried again and again, I fixed the update to iTunes to add and remove the section of windows. Then, I got different errors. I decided to remove the whole score without uninstalling all programs again. When I get to the windows live, that this falls priming. I get various error messages whenever I try to start the process. As a header of Bank pool, fatal error and so on. Can anyone help? What is the damage?

• The user of FrameMaker start question

  I have almost zero experience with Framemaker.  During my days of thesis, I used framemaker for a short time and returned to the latex!  Finally, 10 years, I've been using Microsoft Word.

  Now, after I've finished about 30% of the book, my Publisher is pushing me to move to Framemaker.  (I have concluded that this thing of Framemaker is the BEST software EVER WRITTEN or my Publisher really really hate Microsoft Word!)  :-):-))

  As everyone here has more experience with Framemaker, I ask for advice on the following:

  I have about 10 chapters in a book of engineering graduate with a large number of visio diagrams, tables and a large NUMBER of equations.  Equations were created using Microsoft Word 2007 Equation Editor.

  I first have to import the given in a book in framemaker and then continue to write in Framemaker.  I do not have the luxury to learn first of all the software for several hours and then start using it.  I'm looking for so for pointers on a quick way to get productive with it.

  Here are my specific questions:

  1. What is the best way to reliably import the current word document in a framemaker book?  (Currently, it's a single word file and is one of the reasons to move to Framemaker to be able to deal with the separate files for each chapter.  I don't mind create a separate for each chapter in Word file - if it comes to that.)

  2. What is the best place to learn more about how to perform the task described in the previous question?

  3. What is a good reference - either electronic or the dead - trees version I need once I start using Framemaker?  The software I have is Framemaker 9.0, and it seems to be still too recent for books.  But it is pretty close to Framemaker 8 can I go out with one more book for my current needs?

  4. how import Visio diagrams works with Framemaker, moving forward?

  graphics to editable FM chart. Give them a try.

  In addition, there used to be a conversion utility that converted from latex
  to the mif or vice versa all or maybe both. I don't know if he
  would help you to find a way to convert, create new or recreate your
  Word equations to latex, then to the FM band; I don't know if the utility works
  for equations. I'm not sure if this is a FM-unix utility only, or if
  There is a version of Windows. Just a wild stab here.

• OBIEE Upgrade question

  Hello:
  We are having OBIEE 10.1.3.2 version now and we intend to update.
  
  We are currently it works on 32 Gig RAM Windows 2003 server.
  
  However, the main reason to upgrade is that sometimes BI Server process reached around 1.8 - 2.0 concerts and it just crashes. So it does not use all 32 gig.
  
  My question is, have we not the versions that use more than 2 GB of memory?
  When this process hits 2 GB, it is not possible to open a notebook on this server. Even if it's 32 gigabytes and the CPU usage is low.

• Satellite A30 start question

  When I start my laptop, I get a windows with "RUNDLL" error message in the title of the box and it says "error loading C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded program Files\bridge.dll can not specified Module"-what this means and how do I get rid of him? I tried to remove the bridge program in Add/Remove programs in Control Panel, but I still got the same message please help, its very annoying.

  Hi Rakesh,

  It seems that the 'bridge' program will be started automatically when you start your laptop.

  Check if there is an entry for it in your STARTUP folder and if so then delete.

  Another more likely possibility is that there may be an entry in your registry causing to try to start. You will need to use the REGEDIT program to verify this (or you may prefer MSCONFIG). Please be careful with REGEDIT and do not forget to backup your registry before you make changes.

• Satellite 5100 503: change the HARD drive and start questions

  My hard drive in my Satellite 5100 broke down and I want to change it.

  According to various posts in the forum, it is not possible to start the 5100 from a CD when there is a (new) hard drive in the machine. And the only way to change the boot sequence is via Windows - what does more - there is no other way to change the settings of the BIOS within Windows.

  I looked in the manual - I find no mention after pressing F12 C or any other combination to change the boot sequence (of course I tried yet without result). The only thing I found possible is to press ESC + F1 for BIOS settings default _restore_. And turning the power on by pressing on the left of the space bar gives me the opportunity to Flash a new BIOS.

  Is this really so? Because that would mean I'm stuck. And in this case I will just save the money for the new hard drive and throw my laptop... (and probably by another brand next time - but I sincerely hope that is not so much...)

• WLC use Management Interface & more get started Questions

  I am yet to implement Wireless LAN in one seat of our customers. There are 40 x 1130AG LWAPP AP and WLC 4404 with ACS 4.x for authentication of Wireless Clients attempting to access the LAN.

  For the WLC to connect to the Dual Core Switch, I need to use only a Management Interface with port 1 being the main and mapping Distribution system the DS 2 Port as the backup for the Management Interface port. Is this correct? or can I have configure dynamic Interfaces as well. Is the interface of access management / management and configuration only? Management interface will communicate with ACS for AAA and AP who wish to associate with the WLC, is this true?

  Note: WLC, AP, Wireless customers & AP are in the same IP subnet.

  Some other question of WLAN is so it helps me during the implementation.

  Can • I use the 802. 1 x authentication applications saved in Windows XP for the Wireless Interface; instead of the Client Application from Cisco. For this purpose; I have to configure the WLC / Wireless Client use EAP algorithm; is that correct?

  • With the help of MRR, interference between of multiple (3-4 AP) AP in the same area is controlled by the WLC by changing the channels used by the AP, that isn't even on of the AP is it good?

  • How many users Client will connect by channels. 802.11 a / g will provide 11 channels, it is right?

  • I'm putting in the WLC to limit client connections by AP to 25, can this be achieved?

  Unless this has changed recently, you can't. The ports must be then break into individual groups. You can the controller mode layer 3 as Cisco is the support Layer 2 stop. The Director of the PA is necessary in all cases in LWAPP layer 3 transport mode. Do a search on Cisco.com to the configuration guide for the version of the code you are running. This will give you a step by step installation instructions.

• JavaScript in obiee 3 questions (Export, page width, same page refresh)

  We have 3 numbers in javascript used in narrative mode to generate a hierarchy report.

  (1) for export to PDF, it's showing the JavaScript instead of report data.

  (2) when the hierarchy is that the bar of Internet Explore horizontal scrolling, it is truncating the remaining data. Is there a way to increase the width of dashboard page depends on the data?

  (3) and finally we need to update the javascript display the result in a new window... Is there a way to update it by clicking apply in time?

  (1) for export to PDF, it's showing the JavaScript instead of report data.

  Fixed part. We can use the export as an .mht file to view the report with javascript.

  Increase in the number of lines in the story at the default of 1 500... Now, it is not truncate the results and display completely...

  A third one is still pending and will inform you if I could find any workaround.

  I always put triggers KB in each layer I want control. If I want the left and right fist to move, always to the same trigger, I would use 'f' for each of them. But I might sometimes want to make them at the same time and sometimes individually. For this, I would choose triggers side by side on my keyboard. For example, 'f' for the right fist and 'g' the left fist. Then I could push the two triggers in the same time, or just one or the other separately.

  • I never tried to 300 dpi, but I would personally like 72 dpi for the performance of the only reasons (small size).
  • Yes, you need 5 different groups of head in your main folder of the head (see Wendigo in the example files). Currently in Preview 3, you will need to manually add the face and lip, synchronization to each head behaviors. In the snippet 4 to come, this will be automatic, and you will get two new modes - upwards and downwards.
