Object > path > divide the object below Question

Hello

CS6

I'm cutting a segment of the portion of the line of the object below between the black lines. I'm doing it with the object > path > divide the object below.

best.jpg

However, instead of the blue part is cut off, the black lines are cut.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

This line is only a stroke?

You must first develop it.

    How can I divide objects below / knocking things off the background layer? I am using Pathfinder > divide objects below, but apparently that works for a single path.

    Here is a screenshot - I would like to knockout all dark paths in the pink layer.

    Should work effectively. You can try the pathfinder subtract instead to divide objects below

  • Making objects in a compound path then the clip

    Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to Java and Illustrator, so any help would be appreciated.

    I'm trying to set up a script that will retrieve a group of objects and turn them into a compound path, and then apply a clipping for the trace mask and the next group to the layer.

    for this snippet, I typed the letter 'o', he described and separated with a unique path, then I drew a narrow rectangle through the O, no line, black fill. The rectangle selected, run the script

    var idoc = app.activeDocument;
    var cp = idoc.compoundPathItems[0]; // the topmost existing compound path
    var sel = idoc.selection[0]; // select the path you wish to add to the existing compound path

    sel.move (cp, ElementPlacement.PLACEATBEGINNING); // move selected path inside the compound path
    sel.evenodd = true; // necessary to determine "insideness" or to make holes.

  • How to transform a layer object and a path at the same time?

    Hi all

    I know that I will start when you tell me the answer to this!

    I would really like to know if there is a way I can manage to transform a layer object and a path at the same time... or if there is no work around to get there.

    In a Word, for example I spend a VERY long time to create a drive complex around a very detailed object and then at the end note to what twisted and perspective, and would like to straighten.

    Of course I could turn and correct the object and then carefully turn the path - but it will not correct and I have to spend a lot of time the path of adjustment and make SURE, it is perfect.

    Are there not somehow, I was able to transform set?

    Usually, of course, I do all the correction to straighten and correct the perspective in advance, but in some cases after I am done creating the path I then notice that image could have used other adjustments.

    I appreciate all the advice you can get :)

    Thank you kindly,

    Christine

    Transform the layer and then target the way and make "Edit > Transform path > Again. If you make several changes on the layer, and then each time that validate you and leave transformation mode, remember to do the ' transform path > Again "to keep the layer and the synchronized pathname.

  • Get the last object below.

    I want to get the latest object(z-order) below a selected just as the 'last object below' photo menu under-> Select object.

    How can I go about it. The IZOrderSelectionSuite interface can be used to do this, if yes then how use since I have just the UIDRef of a framework.

    Jasmine

    Hi Jasmine,.

    You can use int32 zorder_index = iHierarchySpread-> GetChildIndex (iHierarchySpline) to get the index order of the spline

    and iHierarchySpread-> GetChildUID (zorder_index - 1) to get the spline immediately below, if I remember right. Otherwise, use + 1.

    Best,

  • Coloration of the paths of the same object differently?

    I hope I am on the right terminology here... Imagine a square drawn by the pen tool. A square with a line and filling. What I want to do is to 'none' color of two opposite sides (strokes) of the place while keeping the inside fill color. What is the best way (or indeed any way) to do this? It should be very simple, but has been driving me crazy here!

    Thank you

    CGG

    Duplicate the path, split the path to its anchor points, remove unwanted segments. then apply the stroke to parts and fill only to the original.

    Alternatively, you can make a symbol and then tilt the the symbol instance. You won't need a mesh

    Hello, I got this new job and I'm trying to understand it as soon as possible. I'm a complete newbie to html, CF and web development
    Yes, I caught a few books, but if you can help me. I appreciate a lot is.

    I have this file structure
    Z:\ToExport\RepDocs\MyReport
    Pointing to this one
    http://myserver/MyReport/
    You will find a folder of MyReport
    And find 2 .cfm
    1 index
    2 version.cfm
    I have 2 BIG questions, ok 3

    HOW TO MAKE A PAGE THAT WILL CONTAIN
    The link of this MyReport.
    A home page. In other words.

    Homepage that contains a main report text
    Name of the division_

    Then a link called my reports. And your report
    Prefereably sorting

    · My reports.
    · Your report

    HOW CAN I CHANGE THE FOLDER
    Of
    Z:\ToExport\RepDocs\MyReport
    Pointing to this one
    http://myserver/MyReport/
    TO
    Z:\NewExport\repmining\myreport

    And then tap on it
    http://myserver/ repmining\myreport

    WHY IS THE REPDOCS NOT TYPED IN THE BROWSER WHEN YOU VIEW the MYREPORT. (I don't have to type (repdocs) to view the report)?
    in other words:
    Z:\ToExport\RepDocs\MyReport
    Is typed
    http://myserver/MyReport/

    without repdocs.

    Please excuse me.
    I am a true beginner.

    Thank you.
    Hope someone replies soon.
    Take care.

    OK, I think I understand your questions, so here:

    Quote:
    HOW TO MAKE A PAGE THAT WILL CONTAIN

    Just have a link on a page, e.g.:
    TEXT of the LINK,
    As for your question on your reports, I don't understand what you're asking

    Quote:

    And then tap on it
    http://myserver/ repmining\myreport

    If you are directly connected to the server, simply create a folder (what looks like) Z:\ToExport\RepDocs\ which is the new name of Fortin, ex:
    Z:\ToExport\RepDocs\NEW_folder and put the files into it. If you are now directly connected to the server, use a program such as FTP server to connect via FTP and do the same thing.

    Quote:

    in other words:
    Z:\ToExport\RepDocs\MyReport
    Is typed
    http://myserver/MyReport/

    It is simply because http://myserver/Myreport/ is set to point to the Z:\ToExport\RepDocs\MyReport file so it looks http://myserver is set on the Z:\ToExport\RepDocs\ folder anything you add to a folder which will be included.

  • Questions to set the path of the image for the data merge in indesign

    Hello. I have problems to define the path to the image properly to merge images into my document. The data merges correctly, then not issued with the source file, but the images will not bind. Have tried serval variables: for example including with and without the "Machintoch HD" root directory path and "/" and with ":" and with the name of folder only. A copy path directly from indesign links Panel. At a loss. Am I missing something simply or is it too complicated?

    can any help?

    No problem! I was almost afraid to ask because it seemed too obvious! I'm so glad I did... Please mark it as "Answered."

  • my path of the shape is too large?

    I use a very long form in an animation. It's a simple idea: use a trim road to gradually display a line, all in one panoramic along it, zoom in very closely so that never see us a small part of the path.

    something like that (although I did not implement the camera yet):

    Screenshot 2015-08-11 22.22.03.png

    the path itself is extremely broad, probably in the neighborhood of 32 k long. I know it's absurd, it's what comes of the photoshop and I intend to adjust its size once I got the correct form. I thought since it was a vector, the size of the canvas was not important in the first step. This seems to be wrong.

    What is happening is very strange: beyond a certain threshold, I can't change the anchor points that make up the line. in the screenshot below, all the points to the left of the green line I can communicate with normally. to the right of the line, however, they are frozen or locked somehow. I can't move around, I cannot adjust the handles. I thought that maybe the points themselves were somehow got corrupted, so I thought I would try to remove the most troublesome and add new points. I can successfully remove points, but if I add new ones, they immediately respond the path because there are and cannot be changed. so I can remove complexity of the path, but I can not add it. Huzzah! the tide finally turned in my war against the detail!

    Screenshot 2015-08-11 22.18.34.png

    Some symptoms more:

    (1) as the type, you can see in the first screenshot, it is difficult to frame the entire object in the drawing area. It's as if the canvas has invisible borders I can't scroll in front. I can zoom out far enough to see the entire path, which means he knows what it is * something * beyond these limits, but I can't use the hand tool to explore these areas.

    (2) if I try to move the "latest" mobile point beyond the threshold, it snaps back to a very strange place shaped covering. the behavior is hard to describe, but that's what the result looks like:

    Screenshot 2015-08-12 03.44.45.png

    (3) reduce the path to a reasonable size, using the layer transform or free transform on all points at a time, does not seem to solve the problem.

    (4) if I take all my points and use the free transform simply * move * their stop left a little bit, THEN I can move these points freely.

    all this seems to me a kind of problem of precision, or maybe someone hard an arbitrary canvas size limit. Frankly, I suspect that this last, because the questions of accuracy would manifest no doubt differently (as anchors to a grid of 10 or 100 pixels, rather than shooting way somewhere else). I'm really at a loss here and risk losing the value of a day's work if I can't understand it. Anyone have any ideas?

    This is a very useful tip!  dethrone the next time

    (only because I had finished about 90% of the shape and wanted to just bang out that last 10% without coming up with a new strategy)

    in any case, I think I figured this out. I am more convinced now that it was a problem of accuracy after all. not only the form wasn't very big, but it turns out that - perhaps because the original path came from photoshop and was copied in this session - the anchor points were all located far from the origin of the shape layer itself. so for me to even move the shape in the view of the composition, he had X translate values between 10,000 and 30 000 pixels. the required number to display not only the transformation, but shifts anchor OF this transformation, I believe, is what pushed me over the edge and beyond the limits of accuracy.

    My solution was to select all the anchor points and drag them closer to the origin of the form (which is #4, since the original observation was be the left screen). This allowed me to use less extreme values of the corresponding translation. between that and reducing the size of the composition that I used for this work from scratch, I can describe the same form using an order of magnitude smaller numbers. I am now well within the limits of accuracy and can move freely once more points.

    It is not that my form was too big, exactly. Is that it was too far from the origin, so the numbers required to describe it were too important. This does not mean that the form * don't * become too big, of course, thats why the Myleniumsuggestion is a very good I will try next time.

    Cheers.

  • JS CS4 share the path to the document

    I'm trying to divide the path of the document file so that I can navigate to one or two files, then in a specific subfolder.

    When I try to divide the "myDoc.filePath" it errors. If I shared "myDoc.name", it works correctly.

    myDoc var = app.activeDocument;
    var myDocPath = myDoc.filePath;
    mySplit var = myDoc.name.indexOf ('_');
    var myFileName = myDoc.name.slice (0, mySplit);
    var myPdfFolder = myFileName + "pdf";
    var mySavePath = myDocPath
    var mySplit2 = myDoc.filePath.indexOf (myFileName);
    var myFinalPath = myDoc.filePath.slice (0, mySplit2) + myFileName + "/" + myPdfFolder;
    Alert (myFinalPath);
    Can someone shed some light on how to divide the path of the document?
    Thank you
    John

    Path: ~desktop/N123456/working/N123456_01

    Note: the name of the last still non-existent folder. Often the 'work' folder is the last. Working folder and N123456pdf are at the same level.

    Goal is to change the economy to the path of the document: ~desktop/N123456/N123456pdf

    You will have about it the hard way.

    Work better with the property of the parent file (which is the folder that contains the file), and then it's the parent.

    The specific question that you are using is slice works on strings and you try to use it on a file object.

  • Windows Search find files but the mistakes of some of them, which are open normally when it is accessed to follow the path of the error opening

    My client uses Windows Search to help track the files in a fairly large groups. Indexing and everything seem to work very well, but when the user performs a search, it returns the information that are expected, but when you click on some of the files that it generates this error:

    "Cannot find 'file:///s:/XXXXX/XXXXXX.pdf'. "Make sure that Internet address or pat is correct.

    (where XXXX/XXXX are the path and name, of course. It varies and is not a specific place, or all in the same places is originally the same error)

    Varies depending on the issue and the only consistency I've found is than that error all tend to share the same name of 'Owner' and those who work divides different. Yet once again, the 'owners' vary. When browsing directly on the elements, following the exact path in error, the files open fine. In our case, 's:' is a mapped network share, but which seem to be the question either, as the other files in the search located on the same mapped share and in the same directory path work very well.

    To make it even more confusing, the search of all works perfectly on another computer. All users have the same access right, reading/writing/execution, in the cases in question. The file doesn't seem to be open and in-use by other users.

    The system in question is running Windows XP Professional SP3 and is connected to a domain active directory running Windows Server 2003. We have tried to do, and it did not help.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance for anything that can help you!
