OCA 9i to 11g OCA

Hello

Is it possible to move from the OCA 9i to 11g OCA.

The OCA 9i obtained by filling in the 1Z0_007 & 1Z0_047 in early 2008. It is therefore basically a prometic ID, I asked just to merge it with an ID of test Oracle.

I see 11g OCA needs the same series exams to take. therefore a review of upgrade to take to acquire 11 g OCA or that it will be possible for me to go to 1Z0_146 to acquire 11 g OCP directly.

Sorry, it's lame, but I'm really confused.

Kind regards
Prazy

Prazy:

1Z0-007 is Introduction to Oracle9i SQL
1Z0-047 is Oracle database SQL Expert

Those that don't combine to OCA PL/SQL certification - is a PL/SQL course. I guess you meant 1Z0-147: program PL/SQL.

That said, Oracle doesn't tag provided PL/SQL certifications, as he does certifications s/n, so there is no exam for PL/SQL 'upgrade '. If you have a BAC of PL/SQL, then taking 1Z0-046 would give you Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional. Note that there is still no release associated with the cert.

To get 10g OCP DBA, you must 1z0-042 and 1z0-043. IMHO unless you already have (or cn get only at a great price, that may be the case for some of the WDP) 10g DBA OCP training which is not eligible for 11g DBA, it is generally not woth it.

In addition to this the 12 c will be out soon. (12/12/12, it should be... but I think that Larry suggested beginning 2013 or something). So one option would be to study/take/pass the 1z0-053 now:
-Next take the training for 12 c new featues (which will probably be an elidigble 12 c course) or some other eligible course that takes your fancy. (The only reason not to do this would be if your could identify a provider of training appropriate to the WDP).

NB: I generally only suggest WDP because it's cheap... I m extremely concerned by the quaility of some providers of WDP (not all)... I doubt they could teach a fish to swim and they would probably ate first in any case.

  • Guarantee that won't change the examination required for DBA OCA 11g

I'm about to take the exam 1Z0-051 - SQL Fundamentals in my path to the OCA 11 g certification. then I plan the training for 1Z0 - 052 - DB Admin I next Jan 2011 and will write the review more than dec 2011 if I can put the knowledge I have acquired training in real work situations for a year before the exam 1Z0-052. The problem is, is it possible (even remotely) which will change the examination required for 11g OCA in this period of one year? Say, as you have to pass 1Z0-047 rather 1Z0 - 051 for 11g OCA, thus renderring my pass 1Z0-051 worthless? because I don't think it's possible that I will get a refund. Oracle can guarantee, or Oracle can change requirements when they want as they are happy?
The reason why I take 1Z0-051 is first because I'm already pretty confident with my SQL skills, but not so much with my DB Admin skills since I just started to use Oracle DB. I used SQL Server for the last 3 years. Thank you

I can't guarantee anything unequivically, but we have radically would not change the certification requirements without providing options for candidates who are already on the path to certification. I can't predict this review being removed from this way, that this review has been developed for the path of the OCA 11 g. The other reviews that are alternatives to this review have been approved as an alternative, they were not developed specifically for the OCA 11 g review. I don't think you have to worry about this.

  • Past 10g OCA/OCP test - no. $ class - OK to take the test of 11g upgrade?

I passed the tests OCA and OCP 10g. We have no training $$s so I can't take the a required class to get the official status of OCP.

It will be a problem if I also take review of upgrade of OCP 11 g? I'm hoping to pass the exam of the 11g in the coming months. I hope that we have $$s and I can attend an approved course next year and then complete the appropriate forms to get the status of official OCP 10 g and 11 g OCP. This sequence of events would cause problems?

Edit: I'm talking about the reviews for 'administrator '. Thank you.

    No problems.

Only possible disadvantages could reduce the availability of some of the shorter and cheaper g 10 course that would suit the requirement. Sometimes 11g courses may be accepted for a 10 g OCP DBA, but check first.

(It doesn't affect you, but to confirm it for other readers, the reverse is not true, 10 g training is not accepted for 11g certification OCP DBA... those with a drive of 10g will go 1z0-042/3 and then 1z0-050 (as you do)).

-You don't have to take the exams in this path in any formal succession. You can take the exam 146 before you have your 144 beta test results, but you will not be granted certification until scored 144 beta review (and you did).

-In addition, 146 review is based on the formation of 11g, but Advanced PL/SQL certification is not version-specific.

  • OCA certification - test sequence

The OCA Certification requires two steps:

    Step 1 -This exam.

    Step 2 -this exam.

Can I take an exam in first step 2 ? Then take a test in step 1, or SHOULD be taken in the order of 1 step 2 step?

I already studied for "11g program with PL/SQL 1Z0-144" and would make the road before taking an exam in the first step.

    Thank you for your help.

You can take the exams in any order.  The Oracle certification program will provide credentials when all requirements have been met - no matter the order in which they were welcomed.

  • If one already has 12 DBA OCP, so we cannot take OCA 12 DBA right? wouldn't this OCJA again go back

If we are already 12 DBA OCP, then I heard that we are not allowed to take the OCA 12 DBA.

Also this new certification OCJA looks like a designer certification, but this is a junior DBA certification.

It seems that we would go back.

    Roger

If we are already 12 DBA OCP, then I heard that we are not allowed to take the OCA 12 DBA.

Ok.  If you were an 11g OCP (specifically an Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Professional) and had to take the exam 1Z0-060, then you would * also * hold the credential of administrator Certified Professional 12 c Oracle database.  You would not, however, the credentials of the Administrator Certified Associate of 12 c in Oracle database.  If you wish, you can take the exam 1Z0-062 and at that time you would hold all the three powers OCP 11g, 12g OCP and 12 c OCA.  The Oracle certification program does not prevent you to do this.  In fact, I hold all three certifications... but only because I took 1Z0-062 while it was in beta before I took the exam 1Z0-060.  I don't really see a point to come back and win the OCA 12 c, but you can if you wish.

Also this new certification OCJA looks like a designer certification, but this is a junior DBA certification.

OCJA certification is not part of the way s/n, so it's not really back going in this direction.  I agree that it is a certification that would normally be the target of the people who had not yet obtained their 12 c OCA, OCP.  I do not think that earn this certification in addition to the OCP 12 you would appear to be younger than you would without it.  That said, if you don't think the themes during the test are those that it would be worth your time to study - you already know or because they are the ones that you do not have and will not - use then further consideration is unnecessary.  I agree that it is a developer certification, and in fact, I have recommended a couple of days at Brandye they be moved to the section "database application development" the test of all the ads rather than the 'Oracle Database 12 c' section.

I already started to focus on the examination in the creation of a study guide for it. In part I find interesting review because my assistant developer really needs to understand these issues better than it does currently.  I doubt that it is an isolated case. I also use in a real problem to find good sources of materials for a person to learn the information covered in this review. No manual Oracle do cover all of the content of the examination (Concepts covers a bit and the Guide SQL a bit).  I can't find good books on Amazon for people to point.

In my opinion, it's a problem serious because a developer understand how to perform the tasks assigned to this review should be second nature. Because I can't find resources, I guess now they learn by practice or by mouth-to-a developer highest... who has probably learned by practice.  I remember some of the courses at the College, but that shouldn't be the only developers that newly hatched place can learn these skills.

  • people with higher in 10g OCP upgrade by March 1, 2016 to 11 g or 12 c OCP or can they be OCA or OCS or OCE?

There are people at work with higher OCP 10 g.

They just got a letter saying to upgrade to OCP 11 g or 12 c from March 1, 2016 to remain active.

I'm sure that Oracle would recommend they would be upgraded to OCP 12 c.

But did they can upgrade to 11g or 12 c OCA, OCS or OCE and have always keep assets.

    Thank you Roger

But did they can upgrade to 11g or 12 c OCA, OCS or OCE and have always keep assets.

Certification renewal requirement is not at all associated with specialist certificates.  They expire or affect the OCA, OCP, OCÉ, CMO certifications.  OCS is almost a separate accreditation program managed by a different group within Oracle.

A lot of questions is answered here:

    https://education.Oracle.com/pls/web_prod-PLQ-dad/db_pages.GetPage?page_id=770

    Including:

Why don't Specialist certifications meet the requirement of certification renewal?

Specialist certifications are focused on sales and implementation. They can deal with not enough a Director of Oracle database, or the duties of a position of Oracle Certified Expert based on the skills and knowledge of an Oracle database administrator.

    and

I have several credentials of retirement, should I upgrade all stay active?

Just go to a current certification to remain active.

For example, if you have an Oracle9i Database Administrator Certified Associate, professional and Master, simply to get a certification of database in Oracle 11 g or c 12-level associate, professional or Master to keep all your database Oracle9i in Active status Certifications.

Expert certifications can be maintained in two ways, either by obtaining a subsequent certification at the associate, professional or master level, EITHER by getting Expert certification later corresponding, if available. If you upgrade your Expert certification to a recent version, he keeps only your active Expert certification.

Extrapolating from the above, if you have a 10g OCP, winning 12 c OCA will satisfy your DBA credentials certification renewal requirements, but win a 12 c ECAS would not.

  • OCA 11 g certification and release of version 12 c

    Hello, I have a doubt.

I am currently studying for the version of 11g OCA (1Z0-051 and 1Z0-052) with the release of 12 c can I still take the exam for 11g?

I am new to the world of Oracle, Microsoft certifications, you can take exams for the current version of a product as well as for the previoss version.

    Thank you!.

    Kind regards.

Yes, you can still do reviews of 11g.  1Z0-062 examination of 12 c is still beta and not production.

  • OCA DBA

    Hello
    I gave following exams:
    1Z0-047 Oracle database SQL expert
    1Z0-147 program PL/SQL
I'm OCA (Oracle PL/SQL Developer certified associate).
I attended these two courses, Sqlstar international, which is Oracle Workforce Development program.
Now, I want to know if these courses is a practical requirement to OCP Oracle11g DBA.

    Thank you in advance.

"Oracle Database 10 g: develop program PLSQL units" will count for the s/n of 10 G certification path. I don't see "Oracle Database 10g SQL Fundamentals I or II" on the page at all. If it is valid, they probably also would count towards the path of DBA Oracle 10 G, but not the 11G. There is no course of 10G listed as approved for 11G certification.

You can get your 10 G OCP DBA, and then take the upgrade of test 1Z0-050, to upgrade to 11G. It would probably be cheaper to take a course of 11G and ultimately you would be certified in two versions of Oracle.

  • Tests to take for DB 11 g OCA

I'm still new to Oracle. In fact I "ve just been hired to manage Oracle E-Business Suite, as well as the Oracle 10 g database. I am quite interested in taking the 11g OCA certification. And perhaps OCP in the next 2-3 years. I read the prereq for OCA 1Z0 - 051 - SQL Fundamentals 1 for 11g and 1Z0-052 - DB Admin I have. I'm pretty confident with my SQL syntax since I have worked with SQL for 2.5 years in my previous job. So, I think to take the basics of SQL, I first, then make for 1Z0-052, practical DB Admin for a year of training, then the exam 1Z0-052.
    1. is it feasible?
2 is it possible that in the period of one year, the prereq for 11 g OCA could change? (prereq for 11g exams becomes OCA 1Z0-047 - Expert SQL + 1Z0-052) and therefore renderring 1Z0-051 exam without value?
    3. where can I download Self test to prepare for the exam? Free would be preferable, because the test I found cost about US99. I guess that this is permissible because I've read many threads that ask basically the same and are considered to be cheating.
    Thank you.

  • OCA certification

    Hello

I'm working on the PL/SQL for the last years of 1.7 and now I think to improve my knowledge by making certifications.

I got to know that we should start with the OCA. But I worked on 10g, but the new version is 11g, I'm confused.

    My questions are the following,

    (1) should I get OCA 10 g or 11 g? If I receive an OCA 10 g, should I expect again to 11g, in this case directly I get OCA 11 g, right?

    (2) is too different from 10 g, 11 g ie., features?

    (3) the registration centre people told me that I need to fill 2 exams for OCA viz., SQL and PL/SQL. But I'm not able to find the review for all of the two codes. All I get is 10g Administration, but I'm in the lineup?

    (4) I am very much looking forward to the review of the OCA, but do not get right links or books for the preparation. Can anyone help?

Please check and let us know. Thank you for your help in advance.

Any help would be much appreciated :=)
